From the moment I found Taradash Given, P.C., I felt the difference. Although my legal process is…read morestill getting underway, Dean Taradash and Liz Torres have already given me something invaluable: the reassurance that I do not have to carry this alone. Their patience, intentionality, urgency, and genuine support have been extraordinary. They listen, respond with purpose, and make me feel that my concerns truly matter. Together, they have given me everything I needed in a legal team--clarity, compassion, strength, and action. What Dean and Liz may not even realize is that, through their guidance, they have also taught me to be more thoughtful and intentional in how I approach this process. As a mother trying to hold everything together while figuring it out one step at a time, that has meant more to me than I can fully express. They have made one of the most overwhelming chapters of my life feel far less lonely. Dean and Liz are absolute rock stars. I am incredibly grateful and feel so fortunate to have found them and Taradash Given, P.C. If I could give more than five stars, I absolutely would. If you are researching family-law attorneys the way I did, please know that I researched extensively and even worked with a couple of attorneys before finding this team. Dean Taradash is the attorney you need--and his right hand, Liz Torres, is truly one of a kind. I absolutely love her! Thank you both for making me feel heard, supported, and protected. I am so grateful to have you in my corner!

Howard was the worst lawyer, and one of the worst professionals I have ever dealt with. I contacted…read morehim to do estate planning and set up some asset protection for my family. He was great at first and recommended a solution, and the moment I paid him everything went to hell. What was supposed to take "a few weeks" took 6 months, was done incorrectly, and I had to contact a second attorney to contact him to provide the services I had paid for. He made errors in our wills, he forgot numerous times about meetings with my family to sign documents (wasting two hours round trip driving), gave possibly 15 promises in email regarding when I would have documents, and every one of them were broken. At some point he stated that my documents had been sent but did not receive tracking information.....they are considered "Lost by the post office" to him so God knows if he actually sent them out and someone has my estate planning, or if he just gave me one more BS excuse. I am currently paying someone else to undo some of the work Howard did and correct it. The new practice stated he used cookie cutter templates that did not even speak to IL laws correctly. He is unorganized and has no customer service skills. I wouldn't recommend him for anything.

I never received a copy of the hold harmless agreement and only after two emails and a phone call was I allowed to see the document which had been voided out ostensibly for incorrect verbiage but in actuality because it was a highly unethical money grubbing strategy to extract as much money as possible from me. They were prompt in communication, but more importantly, they advised me on the governing laws, listened patiently when I told them more than they needed to know about my relationship, AND they helped me strategize based on my situation and the legal standards. I achieved the result that I wanted by working with them and following their advice (and obviously by not asking them to promise me results that would be impossible under the law). Did not know that, and it was not disclosed until when the time came to show up in court, and she did not, someone else filled in for her, because of Covid. This was the very early stages of the pandemic and the virtual hearings were not set up yet. The lawyer that showed up, went in to the judges chambers with my ex-wife's lawyer, and a deal was made. What?????????? A bad deal for me. Then, Kasia went on maternity leave. She was replaced with someone who yelled at me on the phone. I was billed for phone calls made to my ex-wife's lawyer. I feel that if I am billed for an official phone call, I should be part of the discussion. Just like the documents, no documents should be sent to the other lawyer without the person's signature or approval. Which they did ask for my approval for every document. I ended up with about 30K in lawyer fees, all the marital debt, and child support, well higher than what the statutory would be. The law clearly states that the ordinary medical expenses should be covered by the child support. My lawyer argued with me that it does not. 750 IL CS 5/505 clearly states: A portion of the basic child support obligation is intended to cover basic ordinary out-of-pocket medical expenses. I am left with paying 60% of co-pays and 100% of medical insurance. I am being sincere, and not saying this out of spite, but I really felt like my lawyer did not have my best interest at heart.
