Please do NOT make the mistake I did and hire this firm to help with your probate matter. I hired the firm 4 months after probate was opened to replace the Estate Attorney. All claims were settled, and we were just waiting for our mom's condo to sell. Once that sold, we should have been able to distribute and close quickly. Our agreed plan was simple and should have been low-cost. The first attorney assigned to my case completely upended my case behind my back and was entirely dishonest and was trying to change the legally declared heirs to the estate, which is not allowed., He showed up late to every in-person hearing. He was so incompetent that he could not file a simple appearance form without 3 attempts. And he shamelessly charged an excessive fee for each shot. In the end, just to have the firm file a substitute appearance form, the firm invoiced me between $1500.00 and $2000.00. The typical cost of this task is probably $25-$50. Part of the problem was the attorney erroneously paid the court a $251 appearance fee in error because he did not understand that I had already appeared in my legal matter. After lying and denying he made any mistake, he then said he was working on getting it refunded for me, which was a lie. He finally got removed from my case, and I had to demand the newly assigned firm attorney go to court to get the money refunded, or else the firm would not refund my $251. (wrong) Overall, it took the new attorney 2 hearings to get the refund, and the firm invoiced all those legal fees to me (approx $1200.00). Expecting me to pay them for work to correct their mishandling of my funds and withheld them from me for over 2 years. And then demanded I pay those charges or they would withdraw. And that is just one small example of the nightmare time, and my family is still suffering due to this firm. My poor mother was a retired sheriff assigned to protect the courthouse for the last 15 years of her career protecting them, and her estate is small, but they do not care. No contact from any firm partner to see what I am upset about. They want to ignore the bad work of their associate attorneys. read more
