I bankruptcy chapter 7 with that stopper is two years ago. I paid them in full things that I paid them for popping back up on my credit. They very inconsiderate. I've been They telling me this. me that at this point, I'm sick of it not only that several of my associates said they dealt with them in the amount they charged me was way more than they them. They only paid 600. They me $2,300 It is ridiculous. How these companies are getting over people if you for your there should not be anything popping back up on your credit. Customer service... call center inquiring... trying to handle everything by email but when a client has confusion regarding their case status, there is no call back from them. You literally have to go into the office and have one of the representatives call them. This should not have to be the case. Too much red tape with them. Too many people handling the case and no one is on one accord until ... you miss a payment! That gets their attention. Then you're getting mail reminders, emails by the ton! They will lie and say they called. I have two good working numbers mind you. No one called but they documented they had. I showed the rep my call log. No calls from this firm. I am praising Martin Damianov the paralegal for helping me thru my ordeal with my BK13. He always returned my phone calls as soon as possible when my lawyer was too busy to talk to me. Since my first review, a representative reached out to me to rectify the situation where my case was dismissed. Honestly I wasn't expecting much help, but I was actually able to get into the office to get a new case filed. Although I had to pay another filing fee, I didn't have to repay the attorney fees I had already paid. The overall experience was really good. The lawyer was very patient and thorough. It was not a rushed process and very detailed.

I went through the process, that was fine. What I don't understand is why I can never get a return phone call. I've made my payments religiously and on time, but can never get anyone to return a phone call. Every time I made a payment, I would ask for my lawyer or paralegal to call me because I had questions. I started asking for a return call back in May of 2021, and after going into the office on 111th & Western and made a huge stink did I get a phone call back!!! THAT WAS IN MAY 2022!!! SO IT TOOK AN ENTIRE YEAR BEFORE I SPOKE WITH SOMEONE!!! THAT IS SO RIDICULOUS!!! When the receptionist went through my records, she could see every single time I requested a return phone call. She was so embarrassed and kept apologizing to me. As I was standing there, the receptionist contacted a lawyer named Jennifer. Ms. Jennifer called me, apologized again, and took extra care of me and answered all my questions. The other issue I have with Debt Stoppers is being on hold for too long. I've held on for as long as an hour and still didn't talk to anyone. Solve the issue by hiring more employees. This is the worst service ever! I have paid all my debt and im still waiting for over 3 weeks for a call back from either the attorney the paralegal hell at this point can the receptionist call me? awful experience was told just file and stop making payments on your debt and can file ch 7 and keep your house. Then they send some out to my house for an appraisal and they there like pay us $15,000 for your dept it you wanna keep your house and you now have to switch to chapter 13 for us not to make you sell your house. I contacted DS in September 2023. I had my initial phone call, followed by a call from my attorney, followed by a call from my paralegal. Yes, there was a lot of forms to sign, and things to send in. I had total confidence in my legal team. They assured me, that my Chapter 7, would be a smooth process. From start to finish, the whole process took less than 4 months. I received my discharge, and my case was closed. The payment plan worked great with my budget. I did not have the money to pay the entire amount all at once. After several months paying, I am almost done paying. I am very happy with the service I received. I cannot say enough good things about this company. I was drowning in debt. DS, was my life ring. You can never get anyone to answer the return phone calls as well as.setting a repayment plan before all debtors agree.

They are THE BIGGEST SCAM ! i emailed them to inform them of my upcoming maternity leave as the attorney told me to keep them informed and they'll modify the plan once I returned to work the payments restarted now we are getting case dismissal emails after not getting returned emails for almost a month .. we have less than $6k left a fucken scam ! The trustee, the attorney and paralegals are JOKES ! I would never recommend them to anyone and if I known what I know now I would have taken another route. How do you add the upcoming payments to the months I missed which was communicated smh !!! read more

Debt Stoppers, I thought could really help me, but after being in a chapter 13 for 5 1/2 years, and only 2 more payments left, they dismissed my case. I had given them over $11,000 for nothing! They said my husband and I made too much the year prior. They asked for tax returns so I gave it to them. They said y'all made too much and just dismissed it! Then they gave me a paralegal in another country, which they tried to hide. I was no longer important because the length of my case obviously. Stay far away! This is the last emailed I sent. Its been very disturbing dealing with the firm. I expected more professionalism and support from the firm. Not happening.... Hi Angie, I called your office trying to reach you about my check stubs that you said you would call me about and didn't. Also I need to know what happened when you went to court. I was told that it was continued. Why and when is the next court date? I really don't appreciate the woman I spoke with when I called your office making excuses for you saying you spend a lot of time in court. That's really not my problem. Your taking money out my check every 2 weeks for your services and you can't keep your word saying you will call me. This is the 2nd or 3rd time you have said you would call me and didn't. They did what they told me they'd do and I'm relieved. Customer service was always good. They're people and I found them to be professional for the most part even when I observed customers not being cool. I was informed in detail from the beginning. I ask PLENTY of questions, over and over so I can be certain. Everyone was patient with me. They will hold your hand and bring you along or they can kinda pull you(LOL). Honestly, though, no issues. I only wish I could have paid LESS. But it wasn't over the top, but I've seen cheaper. Seeing as I'm not knowledgeable on this stuff, I'm glad I went with them. Debtstoppers worked well for me but the service is terrible. It's hard to get anyone on the phone and I have left messages that no one returned. One time my card was stolen and I needed to update my new card and a Mr. King called me and was very rude! I was driving hone and could not give him the information he needed and said I'd call back. I didn't call back in a time good enough for him called and left a rude message demanding I speak with him that day. When I told him I didn't appreciate his rudeness he tried to over talk me and would not let me talk at all then hung up on me. I had to call another location to update my information because I refused to deal with him after that. He kept calling me afterwards as well but I refused to answer. Back on June 27, 2019 I received a letter from Upright Law congratulating me on paying my full $1,782 to Upright Law for a bankruptcy and help in doing just that. I was assigned an attorney like they had promised, and I received a phone call from him when I initially contacted your company. Between June 27th and August 23, I attempted to contact my attorney on at least 3 different occasions and at least once I contacted customer service because I had questions regarding a time sensitive matter. I was told that Upright Law would send an email to the attorney requesting that he contact me and that would trigger a response from him. I have not once received any phone call from the attorney. Since it was a time sensitive matter, I had to find a local attorney on my own to talk to and hire to help me with filing my bankruptcy. I cancelled the service that Upright Law never provided on August 23 and since that time I have been waiting for my refund. I was told that it would take 30 to 90 business days to received my full refund. Today, Nov. 12, close of business, and it has been 57 business days and I am still waiting for my FULL REFUND that I was promised. It is no wonder there are such bad reviews for this company! What do I have to do to get my money refunded? In the meantime, I am growing further in debt and no money to try to help myself. I'm so sorry I ever thought that your company could help me and I am informing anyone I talk with to stay away from your company. You have an extremely poor way of doing business and lie when a paying customer tries to get the help they paid for. I advised for no one to use them to file Chapter 7 especially if it's your first time. Do a lot of research, because this company doesn't tell you everything. Don't sign to keep your vehicle, due to it not being reported to the major credit bureaus. It's not going to help your credit what so ever. They claimed that they didn't know that but that's a lie. I would not recommend them AT ALL. I filed chapter 13 bankruptcy 4 years ago which was supposed to consolidate my debt. My original payments were $560/month. But I receiveda notice from the bankruptcy trustee that my debt was not going to be paid off in the 60 months allotment. My payments were increased to $700 and this was after 40 months or more of payments. Now with 12 months left to go the attorneys are telling me my payments will have to increase to $1,000 a month to pay off the debt. and I have received another letter from the trustee trying to cancel my case unless the payments are increased. so now I have to work with the attorney to either pay the extra money or have my case canceled and the bankruptcy would have been pointless. but what DebtStoppers does is charges you their $4,000 and those payments are paid first. Find a less expensive option and save up to pay them up front because debt stoppers is a rip-off. read more

It's been 47mo and no correspondence or email after the initial taking of my money. Please stay away! they are the stereotype of sleaze attorneys. Once they are paid which comes off the top for thousands, they are completely unresponsive to you. They make arrangements with your creditors without notifying you the results, if for whatever reason you have to go back to court once they are paid will not represent you. All for a filing you can do yourself and to show up in court for a few hours. Please find attorneys that at least care about their clients, not a place that low rates you because they believe anyone that files bankruptcy are irresponsible and uneducated. read more
