Upon arriving at the park, 90 minutes before the game started, The Phillie Phanatic mascot was nowhere to be found. He should have been walking around the whole park for pictures with everyone. Instead, he didn't show up until the opening ceremonies, he then disappeared up until the 7th inning, where he made a brief appearance in one end of the park. There was no TV host in the stands on camera talking to the fans. There was no fun trivia, no interviews with players, no prizes, no free t-shirts--nothing. What was odd is that you only had some stone faced camera guy going around the stands focusing on random people in the crowd for the big screen--very awkward. He could have at least made some hand motions or smiled. Where do they get these guys from? Finally, the beer guys were fighting amongst each other for business, and yelling "Beer Man!" at the top of their scratchy lungs--god help me. Is that supposed to be our entertainment?! The Philly staff could certainly learn a thing or two by taking a short drive to Dunedin to see how the Jays staff entertain the crowd between innings, it's so much fun! Make an effort guys.

We had the pleasure of attending this park for the first time via invitation to a 6 year olds birthday party! North City Park has 3 different age levels of kids playground equipment including 8 slides, 2 rock climbing walls, 3 kinds of swings, 1 large covered picnic shelter with 6 tables for parties, 1 basketball court, a multi-purpose field with 2 back stops, 2 tennis courts, 1 horseshoe pit, and surprisingly clean restrooms. North City Park has a nice walking trail that winds across the park's whopping 9 acres. There is a mini public library stand with the "take a book, leave a book" option. There is plenty of parking and lots of trees that provide patrons with plenty of shade. North City Park's facilities managed to keep over 25 5 year olds and 6 year olds entertained and moving around for over a half hour without surfing YouTube on their tablets, so I have to say the park was a success! If you're in the Safety Harbor area and looking for a nice playground, to play basketball, to play pickleball, or to play tennis, I recommend that you check out North City Park!

Not the best in the area, but not the worst either. They have a dog park here as well. They have a pretty big area that has different obstacles that the bigger dogs can use. They have a separate area for smaller dogs that can run freely and not have to worry about the big dogs going after them. There is a playground area that is right when you pull into the park that has plenty of slides, swings and activities for the kids to do. Lastly, they have 4 different racquet ball courts that people are always playing on as well, if that is something that interests you! The one knock that I have about the complex is parking. There is a ton of parking but if you try and go to the dog park as softball is going on you are going to be walking to get to the dog park part. Same goes for if you are trying to make it to a softball game, and the dog park is busy, they take all the parking. It goes both ways, so just plan on walking a little bit in order to make it to your chosen activity!

What an absolutely beautiful park with stunning views!…read more I had the pleasure of visiting here during a February weekend, and it is very clean, refreshing and peaceful. A lot of different birds to see and it's great for a walk or bike ride. We loved walking here during the Safety Harbor BDR (race) and took our time to enjoy the views. I have visited several times and every time it is gorgeous on the way in and out. Appreciate the varied places to stop, rest and take photos too.

There are shaded tables and grills throughout the park. Wonderful trails for walking, jogging, dog walking, or just casual strolls. Multiple playgrounds for kids. Huge old trees throughout, many draped in Spanish Moss, offer spectacular vistas to see and photograph. Multiple areas for recreation such as volleyball, baseball/softball, fishing, and canoeing. We have enjoyed this park for over 30 years and have attended multiple company functions and family gatherings. The Indian Mound is paved and offers a glimpse into the past. Informational markers all along the way. Roads are paved (and 15 mph), easily traversed by car, bike, or walking. Almost every area offers scenic views of the northern tip of Tampa Bay waters. Something new to me was a series of rocks that I first thought maybe a rock garden, but closer examination revealed a series of climbing rocks for kids. It's a great place, wonderfully maintained. Plane to spend an hour or more enjoying it, with friends or family, or alone. Peaceful....
