I initially saw these shoes and thought that they would be great for my daughter who needed a comfortable pair of shoes that would pair well with pants. The clothes are comfy, functional, and pretty nice looking. They're not top of the line, but they're way more presentable than a lot of men's fashions. They also have the added bonus of not making guys look like pirates, lumberjacks, or ballet dancers. That's a rarity in today's clothing. But the process of getting the close is always a pain. There are a few scenarios that typically play out: 1. Store is packed. Help is needed in trying something on. There are only three dressing rooms, and no one available to let the next person in to try things on. 2. Store is empty. There are two associates. They both want to cater to your every need and you just want some space. 3. Store is moderately busy. You're happy that the clingy vs. absent dynamic has good balance. However, you can't find a single thing you want to try on, wear, or purchase. Outside of these service scenarios, the only frustration I have with Van Heusen is more of a frustration about me. I'm completely average in every clothing measure. My pants are 34/32. My Shirts are 34/35 x 16 1/2. Finding those clothes on the racks is HARD. Everyone has already picked over them. The clothes are nice, look good, and last fairly long compared to their price. I've had a few pairs of pants that have split at the seams, (because I never skip leg day!), but that's fairly rare. This is still a great place to shop, particularly when they have their big sales of the year. (60% off with an additional 20% off!!! OMG!)

When in Newark just before Thanksgiving my hotel recommended when I forgot my coat back home. It was a short walk from the Doubletree. The store is on the main drag. Upon entering your immediately taken back to another time period of the old general stores. The amount of inventory on the walls, on the tables, well literally every where you look. There is new, there is vintage new such as concert T shirts from the 60's & 70's. What is not there is an odor, the place has no old stinky smell that you may imagine. Plus some items that the owner would never sell on display such as Levi's jeans that date back to the company's start and probably worth tens of thousands. Mr. Cornell, the owner in his 70's has stories he will share if you have time about the family history and four generations of operation. The location was originally a stage coach stop, but Cornell's has their own history too! Like Fats Domino playing pool with the owners Father in the 1950's. They also have an antique juke box dating to the early 40's. The passion that Mr. Cornell brings to the business is what really stands out in my mind. He offers quality merchandise and is proud of the history dating back almost a hundred years. You cannot find another store in the country that compares. It would be impossible! In my opinion he should set up an online store. The items are just so unique and there would be demand nationwide. I walked out with a classic Woolrich red and black checkerd jacket that set me back $250 or so. Don't miss this store if your even within hours.

I do think Jockey offers some great specials and clearance to move inventory as well as every day prices when compared to the traditional department stores that stock Jockey. Considering I went in on a holiday weekend I was very impressed with the store and service from the minute I walked in until I left a happy customer. When compared to service and inventory of some of the other outlets I shopped at on this trip, Jockey and Famous Footwear were heads and shoulders above everywhere else I visited so I have no problems recommending either any time of the year.
