My Experience at the Service Department. I took my truck to the service department for a factory recall on my rear axles and overall did a good job, at the same time I have a ABS fault coming on ever time I step on the brake pedal and they took a look at it and gave me my diagnostics for the repair. I chose not to get the repair done to the ABS at that time and went and picked up the truck that evening and drove home and parked it. The following weekend I went to drive and use my truck and noticed identical damage to both front fenders and called them the following Monday and made arrangement's to meet with the manager of the service department to look and discuss what may happened to my truck and he's saying the damage wasn't something they had done. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He also said they take a video of the vehicles before they work on them and had proof they didn't do the damage. As of yet they haven't showed me the video and ignore my phone calls when I call them.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Hopefully I can get a hold of them soon to resolve this situation. I scheduled with Ed Kenley because their service has been vastly better than the Ford dealership in Ogden. Had an appointment for oil change at 8:00 am. Arrived early, waited in line 20 minutes as there was no separate check in for those with an appointment. Even after check-in they took back five vehicles from walk-in customers BEFORE me (chatted up the folks waiting). My vehicle was taken back nearly an hour past my appointment time. It was finally finished at 10:43. Not really happy with the service at the Quick Lane this time. When I made the appointment I did ask how long it would take (20 mins to an hour) and let them know I had another appointment at 10, they assured me that I'd be done and out well before then.... The employees should never make assurances they cannot follow through on. The constant up-selling efforts are a little annoying. Quick Lane waiting area has comfy chairs, plenty of magazines, free WiFi, coffee, water, tv, magazines and some toys for the kids. You're going to be here awhile. Service department has been courteous. Been waiting 9+ months for a catalytic converter to come in, and they've been understanding and apologetic ... and keep offering to have sales department help us trade in our paid off F150 for a new model since they don't know when they will get the parts in to fix the truck. Accessibility: There's ONE disabled parking spot in front, with the garbage can right in front of it blocking the sidewalk in front of the handicapped spot, so I had to circle around the back of the vehicle to go up the ramp. There is a nice wide ramp that leads right up to the door. The closest door is blocked off, with a handwritten sign indicating we are to 'Use next door'. The lobby wasn't very accessible due to the tire display and other things jutting into the walkway. The spacing from the sitting area was also too narrow to accommodate mobility aids. The building itself is accessible, and with a little rearranging, the waiting area *could be* as well. Thankfully the bathroom was accessible and safe. read more

-10 rating would be best. Took my truck in for a recall on the transmission, they said there's a recall on the master cylinder. Fine, got both done. My skid plat flew off on the way home. Went to Vegas the next day, my brakes went completely out, had to coast into a mechanic shop, Midas. The techs there told me whoever replaced the master cylinder half assed it, didn't bleed anything, left things unmounted or tightened. Cost me $1200 to get home. [[HIGHLIGHT]]All the jerk at the desk at Ed Kinley kept saying is, that would make your brakes go out, that wouldn't make your brakes go out. Not we're sorry, that was dangerous, we care about your safety. He just wanted to be a jackass and not own anything[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. He said, you got reimbursed, what more do you want. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Braxton McDonald was the service rep; I have a Ford extended warranty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One of my door latches failed to lock when the truck was locked. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I called about the appointment and mentioned the warranty, he immediately started talking and asking about the "impact on the door handle."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I said there were no accidents, but it failed to lock and remained locked. I also asked them to look at the Air dam system. The truck said it was unable to operate. I took photos of the damage before the visit because of the "impact assumption--pictures of the grill. I identified it was missing Two louvers and had a significant crack at the mounting point of the Louvers with no sign of "impact" since the Louvers are located. Behind the Ford emblem and grill protecting them indicates that any "impact" damage would have to be significant and cause damage to the Ford grill emblem. This part failed due to vibration and wind pressure, indicating why two were missing and the crack was at the mounting point. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I called, He failed to mention the Air dam inspection. I reminded him and inquired about his findings.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He told me I had to pay 600$ for the latch. I asked if that was with the warranty, but he forgot. He texted, saying I had to pay 600$ for the latch. He called me and stated the Air dam was good, with no issues; I stated I saw a missing Louver and asked to please double-check. He returned my call and said he saw all the Louvers and that there was a crack from Impact. I asked how he knew it was from impact when the grill was not damaged, and he said it was a rock. The rock would need to penetrate the Ford emblem to cause the impact at the sight of the crack. I asked why he did not want to repair this; it's under warranty. He wanted to argue and stated that it would be easier for him to fix it under warranty, and I agreed it should and would be easier. I explained my findings, sent photos, and said I would go with another dealership. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He told me to get the truck, and I stated I had the courtesy pick up and drop off of my vehicle. He said he would return my truck to me and conveniently scheduled it to be delivered at 6:00 when the service department closed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 6:20 rolls around, and there is no update or truck. The truck is still at the lot; the dealership closed at 7. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called the front desk, but they kept pushing me to a voicemail. I called back about six times and got someone who said they were talking to Braxton and trying to figure it out and that they would call me in 5 minutes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I waited 5 mins and called back. He said they had the driver on his way.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I asked if they failed to drop off my truck tonight, would they cover the rental? He said no, and I said okay, I am on my way. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I arrived as their driver was in my truck, blocked him in, and said it was my truck. I'm taking it from here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I took photos of the service and noticed the Door panel was not properly secured. The outside door had oil and prints all over it. Overall, this dealership has had service issues. Based on my research, I was hesitant to have them service any maintenance on the Engine and transmission because of these issues from other reviews. I figured this Door latch and part would not be a critical component I recommend not using this dealership if you must use anyone other than Braxton. But let me say Btw love the truck its the experamce as a whole that they missed the mark by miles. You would think after spending $67,000 with out financing on a truck a dealship would do anything with in reason. First thing was my plates i paid for, were lost or never ordered and had to call multiple times untill it go close the date of temperary expiration had to make a stink because no one their could figure out who didnt do their job. Worst experience of my life. First thing in the morning I found a truck on autotrader, I called just as the they opened. They told me the truck hadn't been detailed yet but I could come look at it. I have been a customer since 2005 either buying trucks and cars for my business though them, have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars with them. I bought new tires for my truck from the quick line service on May 3rd, 2022, before a road trip to the Midwest. On May 26th, 2022, when moving a trailer on a dirt road only the rear tires became shredded, like they were retreads. I was told on the 31st of May that the tires would not be warranted because is spun out in gravel, even though the front tires where not affected by the dirt road. I found the team inattentive and apparently lacking in technical skills. Fortunately I was able to take my F150 to another dealer to fix the repairs they made. Other repairs were not made because they saw no computer code. Self parking and back up sensors were termed convenience features "not required". Also note that this review was posted on the dealer site - almost a direct cut n paste but Ford Customer View rejected my review because it contained personal or specific vehicle info. I bought my first new truck from them. 6 months, less than 10000 miles later the motor threw a rod. when I called to ask if there was anything that they would be willing to do to help fix it they basically told me, and I quote " how were we supposed to know the motor was going to blow" This came from the used car sales manager. He was very rude and unhelpful. The service tech I have working on the truck told me to call where I got it from because there was no way a motor should have blown unless something was missed on their end when they did their pre-sale service. I had a def contamination in my 6.7l diesel. It was towed to Ed Kenley ford where the insurance paid them 18k to install a new fuel system. I got my truck back and instantly had WIF lights, reduced power mode and poor drivability. They claimed the WIF light was because of a bad wire. 2700 miles later the fuel return line broke off. Heritage ford in tremonton found def in the diesel and said the tank had never been removed for the flush. The GM and ed Kenley ford and his floor supervisor told me that they do not remove the tanks for def contaminations. They charged my insurance for the repair and now my insurance company is suing them for fraud. They received my truck back a 2nd time and lied to me about the tech data, and tried to gas light me by telling me the liquid in my tank was water not def. They still replace another 1500 in parts. State Farm hired an outside investigator who took samples and found def in the fuel system. The truck has since been totaled by State Farm and broke down for a second time. Even after they flushed the system twice and did approx 20k in work they still didn't clear the def contamination. The GM Doug was extremely rude when I dealt with him and after considering giving me a loaner he changed his mind "because I spoke to my insurance company about the problem". I bought a F150 from Dave E. in 2016. Recently, after 125,000 miles with a lot of towing, the transmission needed to be replaced. Ed Kenley gives a unlimited power train warranty from 3rd party when you buy a new car or truck. I live in Florida now so I couldn't take my truck back to Ed Kenley. I took it to Ford Dealer Service in Melbourne, Florida. I had my transmission replaced. They also replaced exhaust manifold bolts that had broken off and replaced the timing phasers. The total bill was $7300. I paid the $300 deductible and the warranty covered the rest with no hassle. Five years after I bought my truck I am still happy with my purchase. read more

Ed Kenley Ford I get the complete opposite. I have talked to the people in the Parts department three or four times in the last five months, yet they address me by my name when I walk in. The same with the people in the Service Department, they know who I am when I walk in. The icing on the whole thing is the quality of service I receive when I do go in. The most blatant dishonesty I've ever experienced with auto repair. 1. They quoted $338 to replace an ignition coil. The part is $135 from them, so $200 in labor. I did the replacment in 20 minutes - including watching the three minute youtube video tutorial. They wanted $200 for 15 minutes of labor. 2. They stated that the $99 diagnostic fee would be applied to any repairs that I did. I didn't choose to do everything they quoted and then they refused to apply the fee. 3. There is a technical service bulletin (TSB 15-0040) for one of the codes that my truck showed (P25B0.) The TSB states to reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) prior to performing other repairs. They did not tell me about the TSB and I had to discover it through my own research. They instead quoted $652 in other repairs. After the repair, I received a call to ask about my experience. I expressed how displeased I was and the representative told me the service manager would contact me. I never heard from him. read more

This is a second Ford van we have had. I wrote a review previously about taking the previous van into them, under warranty, and them not finding the problem, because it was doing it intermittently. They had the parameters it had to be doing it, we had to bring it in and leave the engine running, etc. They never wrote a ticket about it, so we were sol when warranty ran out. We had it in to another Ford dealer in Bountiful UT, and they were able to find the problem, without it being running, and in to them while it was doing it. So now we have a second van, and it is having an intermittent problem as well. We took it in to them, and of course they couldn't find the problem. Bryce ordered the wrong vehicle, sent me other customers personal info, ordered the right model of the bronco but didn't add on my accessories. 2017 Escape with 20k miles on it has a rear passenger strut noise. One full and one half day later, they throw their hands up cause they can't hear it. I go in and take the service writer for a ride and pointed out the noise. Schedule a repair date for two days later after the weekend. At noon, I got a call and was told that they 'finally' got it to make the noise and that they ordered a part out of Denver. It will be in two or three days later! It's fine. This is where we take out behemoth F-250 Superduty truck for service. Ed Kenley can't hold a candle to Jody Wilkinson Acura. But I suppose that's the difference between a luxury dealership, & a truck dealership? The service department area has a really confusing layout. There are several different "bays" where you can park your truck. And then the waiting area is a little bit of a walk, away. Trust me, it's not very well thought-out. The employees could be a touch more friendly. The waiting area has free coffee available. And there's a TV (that has only, ever been tuned to the SyFy channel, when I've been there)... Spartan service. However, I feel like they've done a good job on my truck. I've never had them try to tack-on extra expenses. And all of their service/repairs have stayed the way they're supposed to. Until Acura makes a truck... LOL. I'll be driving my Ford down to Ed Kenley to get worked on. read more

I disagreed with a diagnostic on a leaking brakeline. Sis Ford tough truck had a leaking brake line at 33,000 miles and I felt it should have been a warranty item. They said no it look like it had been pinched while being towed or hauled but I do not know of a time when this truck was hauled or towed or anything looped around the axle and I told them how do you know it's not a split brake line she did not like me questioning her expertise and so I called her combative after hearing a five-minute recording while on hold that they are they non-combative dealer. I probably should not have said this to her twice when she started being combative again and I missed my earlier appointment that day to have them fix it because I wanted to discuss whether it should have been a warranty item so I do bear Fault In the initial confusion however what transpired next was amazing. After I said for the second time the service writer seemed combative for "the non-combatative" dealer they advertise to be. I said it to her again and she told me that's because your kind acting like an asshole" and the hung up. I immediately called the general manager of the dealer and said I would like to come down and have a face-to-face meeting and find out why his employee called me an asshole and hung up on me when I was disagreeing with their diagnosis he said he would look into it and get back to me. I then drove down and found the service department manager and expressed my displeasure of being called an ass-whole and hung up on and he then told me how he had read my review when their phones have been out last week so deflecting the situation to say yeah you put up a bad review because of our phones being out somehow seemed to make him justify the fact that his employee had called me an asshole I did become irritated with this and I told him so and he said calm so I took a deep breath and said fine and then I talked to him some more and said I would like to sit down with the employee and find out why she would do that he then took me to a back office and I sat and waited for another few minutes when he came back I said just refund me the diagnostic fee I've already paid and I'll find another dealer to do the work to which he graciously agreed. All in all I at least received a refund for the Diagnostics but I left with a very poor taste in my mouth as to how this was handled by the dealer and I will not ever buy or take my car for repairs to their dealership ever again I hope others have had a different experience but this was mine I'm not advocating for a boycott or anything stupid like that people don't get along sometimes but this was my experience and I was very disappointed in the fact that the service manager deflected my concerns by bringing up the fact that I have complained before about their phones being out for 3 days and I couldn't ever get ahold of anyone. read more

After figuring out on my own that my front struts were leaking on a car with less than 10,000 miles. I took it to Ed Kenley for repair. It turns out my warranty had expired. Instead of calling me to let me know, I had to call in myself to be told they didn't know where my car was. I then went to the dealership and they took 25 minutes to find who knew where my car went. When the mechanic brought it around finally he gave me a bill for $120 for diagnosing that my car had struts that were leaking. Isn't it funny that's what I told that guy 12 hours prior? Didn't do all the work they had 3 weeks to prepare for. Tried to charge an extra 10% for "shop supplies." Bought my car in July 2016. In the 8 months I've had it, I received 3 recall notices. The first two were some reprogramming that needed to be done, but the last one was something to do with the door latches that needed to be fixed. So I finally decided to take it in to get them taken care of. I called Ed Kenley, and they said the earliest they could get it in would be in 3 weeks, so I set up the appointment for three weeks later. They said that the programming ones could be done real quick but the door latches would take pretty much all day. I told them that would be fine. I also told them that I had an extra key fob and blank key that I needed programmed and cut. They said it would be $59 for the programming, and $30 for the cut. I said that would be fine. The day comes. I take my car in at 8am. The guy in the service department tells me the same thing about how long it was going to take, but then he asks where I got my key fob. I tell him off ebay. He says that sometimes fobs from ebay don't work, but they'd have to charge me even if it doesn't. I say ok, as this is an actual Ford fob, I'm not worried, but if it doesn't work, I accept that I'm out $59. Six hours later, I get a phone call saying my car is done, but they were only able to do the reprogramming recalls and not the door latches, because they didn't have the parts. They also said that the key fob worked, but they refused to cut the key blank, because they didn't know what it was made of. So it took them six hours to do some reprogramming, and program a key fob. I was pretty annoyed since I had made the appointment 3 weeks ago, you'd think they could've had the parts by then. I asked when they would have the parts, and they told me they didn't know, and I'd just have to call back and ask, which I thought was pretty horrible, but whatever. I go to pick up my car, the lady hands me my invoice and the total is over $70. I look at it a little confused since it was only supposed to be $59 for the programming, and I notice they've added $6 for "shop supplies." I ask the lady what that is for and she proceeds to tell me that they add it to all of the invoices. So I asked why. She didn't know, so she called over the service guy who I gave my car to at the beginning. I ask him why there's a charge for "shop supplies" and he tells me they add that to all the invoices. So I ask him why. He says for computers and towels and everything. So I asked why that isn't included in the estimate, and instead it's tacked on at the end. He gets visibly upset and grabs the invoice and stomps over to a computer to print up a new one. On this one, he's lowered the price of the service by 6 dollars, but the "shop supplies" is still there to the tune of $5.50. So still 10% of the total bill. I don't argue anymore since I'm already annoyed and it's the price I'm expecting, I just pay and leave. But be warned, they have a policy here that they charge you for shop supplies, and it added 10% to my bill after they didn't do all of the service they'd had 3 weeks to prepare for. read more

I have no affiliation with anybody in the auto industry, including Ed Kenley Ford. I just purchased my eighth (or so) new Ford from EKF since 1998. I have been a driver and automotive consumer since 1970, so, I have encountered my share of shady dealerships and slippery car salesmen. Every person I have encountered at EKF has been easygoing and friendly. I feel as if I'm with friends. Sales, Service, Quick Lane service are managed and staffed by good people. One time, I stopped by Quick Lane for an oil change, they were very busy and I needed to be somewhere else soon. The manager handed me the key to his personal truck so I could make my other appointment. Buying and owning a vehicle doesn't get any better than this. I know this must sound like I'm a shill for EKF, but I'm just a dude from off the street. Oh, and I've also bought a couple of Brand X cars ( 2004 and 2008) from a local "Gephardt Approved" dealership. Yeah, right. I'll stick with EKF, thank you. read more

BEWARE! Ed Kenley "certified used cars". We very recently purchased a used F150 from Ed Kenley. When we asked about a missing spare tire we were told by Mike the salesman that it was after all a used vehicle! He inquired from his manager and we were then told that a spare would cost $300. After he said he could at least get a wheel we would need to put our own tire on it we went ahead with the purchase. After the vehicle was paid for (we paid cash) we then discovered there was not a jack or the emergency fuel funnel needed for roadside service if you run out of fuel. So long story short they did not even provide us with the basic emergency equipment that comes standard with any used vehicle. Sorry Ed Kenley a big thumbs down from our buying experience/customer service experience with your dealership. read more

My search for a car started in July and I had been to the EKF lot several times to look at their used inventory, I didn't seal the deal until this week Within a couple minutes of arriving I am welcomed by sales associate Mike S. I gave him my 3 goals: "must haves", "would be nice to have", and my out-the-door price. There were quite a few options available and my wife and I were shown them all. Mike's presence was not uncomfortable, conversation wasn't forced, and he really seemed eager to help (as opposed to pushy sales). We test drove two cars and were given liberal opportunity to drive to our heart's content, but we wanted time to discuss our options -neither car really appealed to us. If Mike was perturbed about us leaving and "wasting 2 hours of his time" it didn't show. If anything he was content with being outside and showing us around. We came back the next afternoon and was greeted by another associate right away. I kindly asked for Mike, the S.A. went back inside to get him, but returned with news Mike was helping another customer; in the meantime, well this new associate was happy to help. I asked more questions and asked to test two more cars, and told "take as long as you need". We didn't realize how late it was when we returned with the second car and pulled in to a closing lot. But we liked this car and Mike (despite the hour) offered to do paperwork on it -so we started the process. In the meantime the car was prepared for us, stickers removed and given a full tank of gas -in anticipation of us driving away. But financing couldn't get finalized (being late Saturday evening now) we went home empty handed. Come Monday morning Mike got the car detailed and had the keys in the ignition when we arrived. We only had 30 minutes to work with from me getting off work to my wife starting work. But with finance manager helping another customer I ended up taking her to work and returning to sign papers. She came in the next day to co-sign and the car was waiting for us. Although unintentional, if EVER there was a model for "pain in the butt customers", we would be one of them! All said and done, we drove 4 cars, extended hours well past closing to get financing (holding up at least 4 people on a Saturday night), and my wife and I signed the paperwork separately due to work constraints. Yet, from my perspective, all were in good spirits the whole time. For that I am thankful! What really appeals to me is the way everyone presented themselves. First impressions right? Not too flashy & over confident (like its clubbing time) or too intimidating & pompous (Yacht club) --my experience was juuuuuuuuust right. Service was so good that I had my daughter look online and check their inventory a day later; too bad they didn't have the car she liked. read more

Work was exceptional friendly employees but total complacency about Covid-19. In quick lane. Im trying to protect myself and my family and your employees. My car had a recall for the door latch and was told to bring it in to the nearest dealership. I brought it in, they didn't have the part and needed to come back in a week or so to try again. I don't hear back? and have to reach out again where they told me they had the part. I book the appointment, they tell me the process is detailed and difficult and will take all day. I get the car back, and notice that weekend that the master switch for the windows is basically falling into the drivers door frame and is not sturdy. I bring it back in, they tell me they didn't break it and that I'm hustling them? Tried to charge me 124 for the part, it's selling for 58 dollars online. I go look at the car again, they claim that there's "no way the clips could come off as they didn't touch it" and the clips are literally being held in my hand as I type this. They refuse to fix this issue they caused and said I am trying to hustle them. I do not recommend this dealership, they caused more problems rather than fixed them and refuse to fix their mistakes without a price. read more

Just purchased a new F-150 FX4 from Ed Kenley. My sales associate, Lee, was absolutely excellent helping us find just the right vehicle. Lee never pressured us during the purchase, which was refreshing. As for the vehicle, I wanted specific customization that just was not available at other dealerships (others have accessories, the Ed Kenley team knows how to put it together. Their customization makes for an absolutely awesome looking & performing truck). If you are looking to add aftermarket rims, truck bed-covers & other aftermarket customization, Ed Kenley Ford delivers excellent design advise and expertise. A final note is that all of their vehicles come with a lifetime powertrain warranty, in addition to the normal factory warrant, so you can buy with confidence knowing there will be a lifetime of service after the sale! Be careful with service quotes at Ed Kenley Ford's Quick Lane. We signed a quote for a 60,000 mile service on a 2012 F150 ecoboost for $250. When we came to pick up the car the charge was over $450. We received no phone call or notification of the cost change. When we asked about the difference I was told the signed quote was "only for labor and didn't include any materials" even though it specifically called out additional synthetic oil for the engine size. The experience was very shady. I called and spoke to the manage who said he would look into it, that was a couple of months ago and I never heard back from them. I expect once they have your money you are a low priority. Buyer beware, I will be from now on. read more
