They didn't pressure me at all and when I came back today ready to buy today, they went the extra mile to accommodate my needs with financing even further. I wanted to test drive but explained I wasn't a local as I lived in Wash DC so I wash't going to being buying anything at that movment. She was friendly and not pushy at all. I went to Ed Howard Mazda, the second time my 2008 Mazda Tribute was in there. The first time my car was in there was right after I bought it at Sarasota Ford. I had followed this car from Tru Car and bought it at Sarasota Ford. After driving it I realized it issues, when you turned the car, a hard right or a hard left I made a loud noice. I told my son, who lives in Nashville, about this problem. He said to be sure to take it to a Mazda dealer! I did and had to have the axles replaced. This recent visit Doug, Service manager, told me the tie rod was bad! It would take $1200 to fix it. I told Doug I couldn't afford to have it fixed right now. He told me to stay off the interstate, I told him I don't drive much but love my Mazda! My son said it's a good car it just needs "some love!" I really appreciate the customer service Doug gave me, I have to use a walker to get around after breaking my back, he really helped me that day! No covid safety measures. Sitting outside of the horrendous ED Howard Mazda waiting on an oil change. No chairs so I'm on the curb smelling the cigarette stench from the manager. None of the sales people are wearing masks and the waiting room is in the lobby. The service manager had his below his nose that did my paperwork and the other guy in the office didn't have one on at all. This place is horrible! I took my truck in to get a drivers side airbag recall. The service manger was very unfriendly. When I got in my truck I noticed the shift indicator would not land on the letter or won't go into low gear. I went in and informed the manger. He said "It was that way when you came in". The service at the Mazda dealership in Sarasota was terrible made an appointment a week in advance. misdiagnosed wrong switch on my infotainment center. Service advisor acted like a two-year-old refused to diagnose as explained problem. Asked for service manager, he jumped out slamming my car door. Service advisor came out and was told to reschedule another week in advance. Call general manager and explain the situation stated he was going to do a follow up a week later still haven't heard back. Went to my dealership in Brandon. They immediately replaced the switch under warranty two hours after calling. Ferman Mazda treated me like a VIP! I brought my car in to fix the alarm that randomly keeps going off. They told me it was the battery. So, I got that replaced. I get home and find that the one tap window function & the auto unlock door sensors don't work now. So I bring my car back to have that fixed. I get home AGAIN and and my alarm randomly goes off! This is why I brought it to Mazda! I go back to Mazda and they run test to find out it some sensor in my door. Why wasn't this done the first time!?!? Now I'm back at Mazda for the 4th time. I don't live in town & I've had to take 3 days off work. I won't be bringing my car here in the future. read more

Held off writing this review until my used car warranty expired. I went looking for a new car six months ago. Stopped by Ed Howard Mazda to look at a Mazda3 and was greeted by Steve Wilkinson. This was my first stop and I wasn't ready to buy just yet. Steve was helpful and informative, but not pushy. He followed up with brief phone calls when promised. Decided I should treat myself to a convertible if only because Florida weather allows that. Went back a bunch more times. Took test drives with new and used Miatas. When a Merc SLK280 showed up on the used lot, I took that one out. All the time, Steve showed great humor with the slow pace of my vehicle selection. Finally decided on the SLK. Negotiation was par for a new car dealer. The usual back and forth, but I was able to do most of it on the phone. After we agreed on the price, no "extras" or surprised - always a nice sign. I did have the car inspected prior to closing. Steve had to accompany me to the inspection for a few hours (Ed Howard policy) but easily accommodated my schedule. The inspection revealed an oil leak. Seems the dealer didn't put the cap on properly when changing the oil. The dealer replaced the cap, cleaned the engine and agreed to fully cover any other leaks that might show up during the warranty period (3 months / 3000 mi). After the closing, I found some additional oil leakage which turned out to be worn engine mounts. Rather than fix it themselves, the dealer sent me to a Mercedes specialist & took care of the bill. All in all, a pretty easy experience. Took one star off because the dealer should have caught the leaks when they processed the trade-in. A full five stars for Steve Wilkinson. read more

Jan 2015- I went there for the 15000 mile, one year check up and had some problems. They charged me $60 for an air filter, put in defective windshield wipers, and tried to charge for an engine filter I didn't need. They also tried to sell me other services that the Mazda manual did not mention. Lastly, I asked them to set the tire pressure at 38 psi and when I got home, I found that all four tires were at 42-43 psi. Jan 2016- I've been there several times since and not had any problems . They have not recommended services I did not need, other than a fuel injector cleaning at 30000 miles, which I'm not convinced is useful based on other owner comments. The service manager does not seem happy to be there.On the plus side, they have always offered discounts on the tire rotation and oil change, and get my car back to me at the promised time. March 2017- A new service manager was very helpful. Had me bring my car in immediately when I noticed a part dragging under the car (Failure to properly attach part during last oil change service) and fixed it quickly. I'm hoping he will turn things around. Seems competent and intent on making the service unit more customer friendly. read more

I am 61 years old so as you can imagine I have purchased a few cars in my time. There are just a couple of places that I can not give derogatory remarks about. Those places did not earn my loyalty though. For the first time ever, I can say with a great amount of conviction, I have found a car dealership that I will return to before any others. Ed Howard Mazda treated me like I was their only customer. Don't get me wrong. The showroom was busy and I was certainly not the only one buying a car that day. The manager made a call to their partners at the Lincoln dealership next door and Mark rushed over to help me with my exceptional car shopping experience. I purchased a late model used vehicle but the way I was treated by Mark one would think I was getting a new Lincoln. Mark was not the only one who gave me the "best ever" vehicle shopping experience. The financial manager really delivered. After securing me a good deal with a bank I told him that I would like my payments to be lower. He said to give him a day to work on it and when I returned he had shopped until he found a bank willing to get my intrest super low, bringing my payments down. I can't stress enough how they made me feel like I was family and they were not going to disappoint me. No sales pressure (if you don't buy this car right now it will be sold to someone else). No this is as good as it gets if you don't buy it we'll sell it to someone else. No looks that make you think you are inconveniencing them. No feeling of being rushed into something so they can get to the next guy that walks in. Relaxed, friendly, dare I say enjoyable, certainly stress free car shopping. My wife and I really liked the new Mazdas in the showroom and when it comes time to get her a car we will be looking at them again. read more

He was thorough in writing down all the details needed for today's service. He called me promptly after the brake inspection to inform me that the MPV needed new front brake rotors and pads. I arrived at Ed Howard one evening last week after 6pm. Tom Miller-sales and Peter the GM met me at the door when I pulled up front after seeing they had the blue Mazda 6 I wanted. When I asked if they were closing-they both said, "we're here as long as you need us to be" Tom was extremely easy-going and great to work with! I was shopping without my husband, but Tom treated me with the respect that in the past and at other dealerships I had only experienced if shopping with my husband. Never did Tom or Peter make me feel that they were taking advantage of a "woman shopper." I did go in that evening after already researching the car online and test driving it at another dealer closer to home, and even though I made it clear that this was the ONE I really wanted, they did not take advantage of that when closing the deal and Peter made a fair offer on my trade-in. The detailing department was closed for the evening, so after we completed the sale Peter let me know that whenever I brought the car back for my new car wash and inspection he would refill the gas tank! (I live an hour away). I went back one week after purchase and Peter and Tom both remembered me, were just as friendly as before the sale, AND Peter chided me for not bringing the car back empty so he could give me a FULL tank of gas again! :) I have bought several vehicles in the past 20+ years, and this was hands down the best buying experience ever!
