They told us we would get a year of service for a special price of $219, however they failed to tell us it was 5 payments if $219. When we called to cancel they were no help and threatened us that they would send our account to collections if we did not pay. I will never do business with a neighborhood drop by again! If I could give it zero stars, I would. A sweet boy was walking around my neighborhood in the dog days of summer talking about healthy Pest Control. I am all about saving the bees and do not want to kill pollinator since I do plant pollinating perennials in my yard. I was enticed by the thought of possibly keeping ticks away from my pet. I have paid $70 each treatment in the past for a different pest Control, but didn't feel good in my heart about using the poison in our unstable environment. Everything the boy was saying sounded good. He lowered my price and said he would come back for free to spray. I was bamboozled and signed an iPad contract. The next time he came out, I was charged again. I still saw bugs in my house, spiders and such. I did not see the value in the service nor did I think it was ethical to mislead the contract. My account is being sent over to collections. I want nothing more to do with this service. All I wanted to do was cancel. Ecoshield did not want to hear anything about it. They make it very hard to reschedule more than 1 week out (like if you're out of town). Beware: Misleading Contract tactics and expensive Terms When I signed up, the full contract wasn't shown, only a signature field was visible on the salesman's small phone. Key terms like the two-year length and $250 early termination fee were never explained verbally. I was understanding that I had the summer to evaluate and then was able to cancel as confirmed by the sales rep. But the Cancelation fee and other key parts were not explained. I trusted the rep and got burned. A confirmation text is sent, but replying locks you into the contract. DO NOT REPLY! Trying to cancel leads to other sales tactics and "discounted" offers that are still overpriced. While all polite, they will pursue the whole contract to get their pound of flesh out of you! It is bad business to be so misleading and then to not admit their sneaky tactics when you go to cancel. Though the customer account was in my wife's name, I never, with knowing with reasonable consent, agreed to the terms, they refused to recognize the legal issue. I offered several fair compromises, all rejected even though it meant I would spend more money on further applications. After long phone calls, they finally settled on a $150 termination fee and dropped the debt collection threat and all processes going forward. It is my stupid fee, and two days of my life as I look at it now. DONT BE STUPID ! The service reduced bugs a bit, but spots were missed. While they will come back and do it again, it is additional hassle as you need to be present to allow access, and more poison to keep the dogs away from. For $1800 over two years, it's not worth it. PSA: EcoShield Pest Control is a scam, and you should 100% never use their services. Just wanted to share my experience with EcoShield. They approached my house in the standard door-to-door salesman type way, and offered a "deal" because they treat some of the neighboring houses as well. I agreed, because I genuinely needed a little bit of pest control. When they arrived the following day for the treatment, the pest control person was relentless in pursuing a 5-star review before I could see any of the results. He kept mentioning that he was the number one reviewed person, and was desperate for a promotion, but the company was refusing to give him one. He was fairly kind, so I agreed to leave him a review. I left for a trip the following day, and returned 4 days later, at which point I got to see the results of their work. I paid $200 for a treatment that involved a complete de-webbing of my property, and a guarantee to never see any pests in or around my house with an additional guarantee that if I did, they would come back out and resolve the problem for free. Upon reviewing their work after returning from my trip: 1) My garage is still entirely full of cobwebs, to the extent it doesn't even look like they entered the garage (they did, I left it open for them and watched them enter and leave the garage during their service). 2) They left chemical streaks along the exterior of all of my windows. At no point was there an attempt to prevent the treatment from getting onto my windows, nor was there an attempt to clean my windows afterward. Every window in my whole house is covered in streaks and spots. 3) The treatment has literally made no difference in the number of bugs that I see in or around my property. I've included a picture of a spider on the inside of my window, right next to where all the streaks were left outside. I've also seen several other bugs in my home since the treatment that were "guaranteed" against, such as other spiders, centipedes, and earwigs. Things get worse. Immediately, I reached out to the company to express my grievances with the poor quality of service. The phone representative was understanding of my concerns, and attempted to reach out to the local branch to ask them to come reconcile the issues for free, as promised in their guarantee. The local branch refused, but offered my next treatment at a $30 discount instead. The representative explained this to me, at which point I said I would be ending my subscription to their services. The representative went on to tell me that there was a $300 cancellation fee. I told them that I would have been willing to pay that if I had to cancel due to moving, but I would not be paying it as a reward for doing poor quality work and that I did not think it was fair to charge their customers to cancel their agreement in a circumstance like this. The representative again said he understood, and that he would go ahead and close the account and cancel my subscription. Before hanging up, I said that I want to be crystal clear that I will not be charged for the cancellation fee or any further charges, and to make sure that I did not have to call my bank and prepare to dispute any secret charges. The representative responded very clearly that I would not be charged, and that my relationship with EcoShield was finalized due to my account being closed. A few days later, I received a bill from EcoShield for the cancellation fee that I was told I would not be charged. I called them, and explained to another representative that I was told my account was closed and that I would not be charged. She asked if I had proof this was the case, and I told them to refer back to my previous phone call. She told me she would investigate and call me back later. Later, I did receive a call, and they explained that what the previous representative meant was that my card would not be charged directly, but that I would still be charged the cancellation fee and expected to pay it. This was NOT what was communicated to me, and I made sure to be crystal clear before I hung up with the original representative. I told them that based on my previous conversation with the representative, which they can review at any time, I was told I would not be charged any fees and that my account was closed. I'm posting here as a warning to anybody in the area or who might be targeted by EcoShield sales people. It is a scam, and they will provide incredibly poor quality work and services, demand reviews prior to the results of the work being reviewable (resulting in their high ratings on Google and Facebook), refuse to adequately follow up on their guarantees, and manipulate any and all situations to work out in their favor to scam as much money out of their customers as possible. Scammy company. They lock you in a subscription and make you jump thru hoops to cancel their service. That alone makes it not worth the hassle. Per the contract you have 3 days from signing up to cancel service with no penalty. I requested in writing to cancel my service 2 days after signing up, 1 day after the first job was performed. Called the next day to ensure cancellation was processed but was told someone will reach out in 2 days. At least the agent did acknowledge a cancellation request. I received an email the next week that they want to know why I want to cancel. I proceed with the call which btw is the same line I called earlier but I guess now they're able to forward me to the right department...she gives her speech about why I need their service then tries to charge me a penalty when I ultimately declined to keep them. I almost blew up on her. They intentionally dragged out the cancellation process to get me outside of the 3 day cancellation window. Dirty business practice...just stay away. As for the service... Salesman acted very neighborly, tried to name drop some people in the neighborhood to act like he's a local guy. Read online, this is something they are trained do and some even use the wrong names. He seemed like a nice guy, but you can tell he was all business. Not very personable tbh. The workers who came out were fine, just normal dudes. Apparently this is a high turnover job, which makes sense when you consider the company's bad business model. This also speaks to how easy this job is...it took 2 dudes 10 minutes to treat my house. I decided to settle with kindness, even though he nearly killed me and others, and gave him a peace sign. Tyler came out to our house on October 9 to help us remedy a flea issue. While we used the standard service, we needed something more as it wasn't working. We had deep cleaned the house the day before and thoroughly vacuumed and cleaned. Tyler came to see what was going on, and indicated the fumigation was really what would get the job done -- best yet is that it comes with a guarantee and a 2-week return service to ensure they got them all. Tyler was patient while we gathered our animals. The first service went great! Tyler was super nice, professional, kind, courteous, and caring. The 2nd service was on October 23. Tyler arrived a bit before the scheduled time, and again was super in providing this service! Tyler used the utmost professionalism, explained things thoroughly to us, and gave us tips and techniques for future things we could do to help prevent a repeat infestation, as well as doing the repeat service. We were approached by Gauge Womack on our front porch, saying he was "in the area," servicing other neighbors, and proceeded to offer us a deal. I was with my mother-in-law who has cognitive impairment, and so I ended up putting it on my card, but her name got attached. Gauge said we were on a trial plan that we could cancel any time and that I'd be getting an email I needed to initial and return with official agreements to terms and conditions. He "demonstrated" initialing the boxes on his device. Later, when I perused the email, I found that I did *not*, in fact, have an email to respond to, as--somehow--my mother-in-law had initialed and signed everything already. When the workers arrived, they were done with our basement and large yard in about five minutes total. That's ... not enough time to get adequate coverage of all the areas they said needed to be gotten. Gauge had also stated he'd be blocking entrances and laying down traps for mice. I saw no traps and nothing was blocked. Back to the contract. Nowhere did it state this was a trial. The discount was not labeled as the "recurring customer" discount he said he was using, but was instead a "first time customer" discount. Plus the 30 day follow-up, which he'd implied was included in our initial fee, was marked as an additional charge. We were going to wait and see, but then I saw the fine print about cancellation. I emailed within the three business day period (which was about five calendar days, as it was a weekend) with my request. On Monday, I sent another email requesting a confirmation of the cancellation. They replied, saying they got it and it was processed. I then got a call from them trying to get my mother-in-law on the phone to confirm with her she wanted to cancel. I reminded them of what had transpired and that it was with her in name only and with me in actuality. They insisted, so I got her on the phone to say, "Yes, cancel." They then transferred us to "a different department" (I forget what they called it), which turned out to be ... Gauge. The salesperson. We got through his attempts to retain us and he said we were cancelled (but we'd regret it! The job wasn't done! The ants will come back!). Fast forward to today and yesterday. Ecoshield called me, I answered, nothing but office noise, so I hung up. A text comes through. They need to speak with me on the phone about the cancellation. I reply saying I answered and that everything was already done per their policy and to quit bothering us. An autoreply. Today, same thing, only I didn't answer, recognizing the number. I blocked both the calling number and the texting number, after replying requesting they stop the harassment. Edit 8/9: I got an email from them today, stating they needed to talk with me to "get more of an idea of why you're looking to stop services" and that if I didn't contact them today, "we will go ahead and close out your account due to lack of contact. If your Service Agreement with us has not been completed, we will also send you an invoice for the Initial Service Discount Chargeback." I replied via email with a short recap of all the above, waited, got no acknowledgement, so called my bank to put a stop payment on future charges from them, then called Ecoshield. I was told over the phone that the account is indeed closed and was closed during the proper window, but no explanation or apology for that email. I requested not to be contacted by them again and plan on adding them to my "go directly to jail, do not pass GO, do not collect $200" email filter if they contact me again. TL;DR: high pressure sales, scammy tactics, major pressure to retain and prevent cancellations that don't incur a $200 fee, plus harassment weeks after cancellation. read more

Customers beware!! I have tried to cancel my services due to moving and they say they cancel but never do. They continue to text me that they are going to the house where I don't live anymore. I have tried canceling 4 times and they say it's cancelled but there is never a record the next month. But I also don't mind because I myself like probably 99% of the population don't like talking to solicitors. I left for Home Depot right after and noticed her notice me leaving as she was walking up to her last house of the street. I did my business and was gone for an hour. came home and noticed a white ford expedition driving up and down the street, the same girl got out, rang my door bell, again and walked around to my garage where I was unloading. While she seemed very young, and shy I let her do her routine, bc my wife would be interested. I asked her for a business card or flyer. she did not have one. I asked for a company number I could call to ask for prices and options later after discussing with my wife. She supplied me with one and watched me enter it into my phone which I felt uncomfortable, so I put it in notes. She then told me that's her personal number. That's not what I asked for. Remington the salesman came knocking on our door asking if we needed pest control and Spider Control, oddly enough I had ants in my basement so we talked and decided OK we'll go with him. After he explained he does several of my neighbors and mention them by name, all which is not true after speaking to them. First time they came out he told me all the spiderwebs would be gone within a few days because they all were dusted away by them my ants would be gone in the basement and they would apply tech control. Two people came out they were there 20 minutes within a week still had ants in my shower. After talking to Remington, he said he would send a more experienced tech out. A few weeks went by still had spiderwebs still had ants in my shower. Called Remington a third time he said he would escalate this to his district manager. His manager explained to me that they don't kill the spiders they treat for their food and then eventually the spiderwebs and spiders will go away. The long and the short is this company is a scam after signing on Remington's phone locking us into a one year contract with a $200 penalty for canceling your contract along with $155 to be withdrawn automatically with auto pay on my account. All which was not Explained to us. We canceled our service and now they expect us to pay $200 and nothing has been resolved. And yes I still have ants in my shower! read more

A salesman came to us on 7/11/22, telling us that our neighbors use their service and that he heard that we were new to the neighborhood and wanted us to try them out. (Our neighbors have told us since that they don't use them). My husband and I were both skeptical, and we told him that we did just move here but we don't have a lot of money at the moment due to just purchasing the house and all the repairs that we have to do on it. (I am pregnant and unemployed, which we made clear to him as well). He continued to push, said that he really wanted to help us out and that he would knock down the usual $2-$300 and only charge us $99. He made it sound like the $99 would be for each service, and that they come out quarterly. My husband told him that he usually does pest control himself and we didn't want to pay for something we could do on our own, so he told us that we could take the lowered fee, try them out, and that we could cancel at any time. After he took my payment, he said there would be some techs to come by shortly and perform the first service. The techs ended up telling us that there is a $201 charge for cancellation, which we were surprised at since that's not what we were told by the salesman. We also inputted our email for the invoice/explanation of services, but we have yet to receive that email to this day. One of the techs told me they'd be back in a few weeks for a check-up. We then noticed there was no decrease in pests so I called them on 8/3 to request they come out. The lady on the phone said they were coming out on 8/10 for the check up, which I was told would be no charge. I also updated our email to ensure they had the correct one on file, and I requested to be sent the invoice but still no invoice was sent to us. Though the tech who came to do the check up was nice, after the check up, I noticed was charged $189, which put my account in the negatives. We called again for clarification about the services. Apparently the $99 was just a startup fee, but we were told initially that it was the first service charge, and we were under the impression that $99 would be the cost for each service. A few weeks after the check up, on 8/22, we found dead mice in our house. Over the course of several days, we continued to find more mice, and we've had to kill a few because we were concerned about our cats and our baby who's due in Oct. We didn't want mice that have been poisoned or diseased constantly in our home. We've also had to kill multiple wasp nests and are constantly killing spiders and flies. Again, no decrease in the amount of pests around our property. If anything, it feels like there are more. We called today, 9/8 to let them know we were not satisfied with the service we've received and want to cancel, and despite everything we've explained, we are expected to pay $201 to cancel, or it would be sent to collections. They offered to come out and treat our place again, but we don't want to take the risk with my due date being so close, and again, we seem to have more success taking care of the pests on our own than anything this company has done so far. I constantly had them out treating our outside. we had more spider webs than ever! techs were always very nice but spiders just didn't go away. after 4 months of treatment, my husband had enough and said he wanted to do it himself again. called to cancel, they want $200 cancellation fee. ok, whatever. but what did make me upset was the guy I talked to to cancel basically offered my a free next service and cut the monthly from $180 to $89 or $99 a month for the rest of my term to keep their service. tell me I didn't get ripped off with my original price. never again! read more
