We called the office at 7:55AM and reported it on a voicemail. Returned home at 9PM and the raccoon was still in the trap. We released it ourselves. It had bloody paws and a baby raccoon near by. Day 2: called during business hours for an explanation and was told someone would be out, nothing more. Day 3: a technician came out, re-set the trap with marshmallows??? Day 4: something went inside ate the marshmallows, defecated and left. Day 7: Open trap, no bait and no estimate to fill holes.

After Critter Control's last evaluation for the raccoons, they wanted to charge $1,500 to replace the vents and additional to clean up feces and fumigate. The last rep. was to check with his manager to see if there could be a discount because they dropped the ball. The manager called me and she admitted they dropped the ball, but offered to call Orkin for me - nothing about them coming to handle the raccoons. I immediately called another company that came out the same day I spoke with her. An older gentleman came and positioned his cages, came back the next day and showed me the two raccoons he caught and was so much cheaper. I agree with the other review, do not waste time calling Critter Control for anything other than dead animals.

I'd like to add one item that I didn't mention earlier, while the main issue we were dealing with…read morewas rodents I mentioned to Orkin that we also has been seeing some moths lately and they identified them as 'Indian Meal Moths' which are an invasive species in North America and are becoming a common pest issue. Orkin advised us to get rid of all potential food sources (mainly grains and cereals) or seal them in plastic containers, but they indicated they could also spray for them in cupboards where they were prevalent. That was included in their total price agreed upon, they did not charge extra for it-to their credit. But the spray was really ineffective getting rid of the moths. After a couple of months we were still seeing them (we'd already tossed old cereal boxes and/or packaged them in sealed plastic containers). I did some internet research on this pest and several sites recommended using pheromone traps-it's a cardboard triangular shaped box that gives off a pheromone which attracts the male moths and there is glue on the inside surfaces which traps them. I ordered some of these through the internet, placed them and within 5-6 weeks the moths had disappeared. It's not an instant fix, because it only captures/kills the males and eventually the population disappears from lack of breeding-but it works. Since we were not charged for the Orkin spray I can't complain too much, but once again the technology they use is not as good as what is available if you do a little research online and try the best recommended methods. Orkin are supposed to be the experts in pest control, if customers are finding better information doing internet research on their own what does that tell you? They need to up their game and improve their technology, or they'll be out of business soon.

In June we called Orkin back as their work had a warranty. 3 times they sent someone out to 'check' it, telling me they would send yet a 4th guy (over a 5 month period). Following a just OWN IT discussion, they sent Jake and Hunter who actually did something to reseal the house. Jake and Hunter were great. They didn't offer excuses, or suggest another team needed to come out. They got to work. They Owned It! They were fantastic! Thanks to Jake and Hunter, I'm looking forward to a critter free winter. So 5 stars to Jake and Hunter. 2 stars to Orkin in general for all the BS.

I found that odd since I supplemented their traps with my own cheap Chinese traps. My cheap traps were catching loads of moths. When I confronted them about this, they acknowledged that they had been using the wrong traps. They offered to give me 1 free month. I told them that I didn't think it was fair to have paid so much for their service when it did nothing and requested instead to get a full credit of all my payments towards future service since they didn't actually do anything on their previous visits. They stopped returning my calls since then. I've been leaving messages with Chris and he promised to call back on multiple occasions but has not. The image I'm attaching is of a cheap chinese trap I got on aliexpress. I have a few of these up and they did catch moths so clearly I have a moth problem. I even showed them that their trap was inches away from this one and did not catch anything.

Orkin came out again to spray. The ants came back. I finally sprayed them myself with some insect spray from Lowe's. As far as the caulking around the house, the workmanship was horrible. We are very disappointed. the caulking is extremely thick and poorly applied. The outside look of the house is ruined. some areas shouldn't even have been caulked because the gap was too big. We spent thousands of dollars for literally nothing. Definitely overpriced and overrated! never again! Zero
