The plumber replaced the air valve on the radiator for $341, and reset and re-angled the radiator for $419. A dispatch fee of $99 was added, plus tax and credit a card fee for a total of $963.32. The tech thought I might need further service in the form of hydro cleaning or air cleaning. He suggested I call several companies to have them come look and give me estimates. I noticed the good reviews of Perfect Sewer & Drain, here in Brooklyn, so I gave them a call. I immediately got to speak to a live person who told me that David would call me back in about an hour, and he did. We talked about my concerns and he scheduled to come out this afternoon, promising to call before he came. Within a couple of hours, I received a call and David said he would be here in about 15 minutes. He was promptly at my front door in about 15 minutes. He examined my sewer and the bathroom that was emitting a strange smell and, without charge or trying to sell me anything, he showed me that the toilet had some gaps in the caulk around the bottom. He thought I should re-caulk to see if that solved the smell problem and said if it didn't, I had his number. Then, he examined my sewer lines and the caps that were not sealed well enough, and again, without charge, he suggested a very inexpensive fix for it. He thought I should try these things first. I was very appreciative for this kind advice. You don't often find someone who is just nice like that. Again, he said if I had any problems, I had his number. I can assure you, I will keep his number and will definitely recommend him to friends. I happily wrote this review as soon as he left. I had called to speak with another drain company whose first suggestion was a video of the line for a cost of $250.00. That was without even offering to come to my house to take a look. I might need a video in the future, but as for now, I'm delighted with the advice I received from Perfect Sewer and Drain! Thanks, David!

Got a call back very quickly saying they were on their way and would arrive in about an hour. Anthony arrived with another gentleman, Dom, on time and they patiently listened while I explained what was going on and what I tried. Anthony told me they'd first try to snake the drain and if that didn't work, there was another procedure with a water jet. I appreciated him being upfront about the fact that the first thing they would try may not work in order to set expectations. Decided to go with the snaking and Anthony let me know the price and proceeded to do the work. They were very thorough, spending about an hour working on it and testing it. By the end of the snaking, everything was working without an issue! Throughout the work, Anthony and Dom were extremely pleasant. They took extra care to ask if it was okay to move things onto the counter or if I wanted any extra protection on the floor. The great work, attention to detail, and general pleasantness mean I'll be calling Downtown Plumbing anytime I need a plumber.

I hired Scott and his team to replace a leaking lead water main, and overall, I'm impressed with…read morethe speed and quality of their work. Scott gave me a quote over the phone and coordinated the timing with alternate side street parking to make sure the street was clear. On the day of the job, a crew of 4 arrived with multiple trucks and took their time to determine that the water line curved to the side. They opened the street, the sidewalk, a hole in my front garden, and the basement. They dug the holes, found the original line underground, replaced it with copper, and had the entire site filled, covered, and swept clean by just after 2:00 PM. It's labor-intensive work and the crew was incredibly fast and clearly knew what they were doing. They didn't need anything from me other than basement access and worked straight through without issue. At the end of the day, one of the guys even helped me replant my lavender, which they had carefully removed in one piece earlier in the day to save it. While the technical work was excellent, the on-site experience was a bit stressful. Scott was not at the job site, though the crew was able to give me the updates I asked about, and one worker in the basement was visibly frustrated with cutting through the stone foundation. If you want the job done quickly and correctly, I highly recommend them. Just be prepared to be proactive about talking with the crew or asking for the supervisor if you need a clear play-by-play of the progress. This team will be my first call if any more work with water lines or sewers comes up.
