At the beginning of the call the male receptionist was extremely friendly until he got on the phone his manager or what he calls "boss". My quesrions were regarding the weight limit and pet limit for dogs. I will be traveling with my friend's two dogs, this is important due to the fact I explained that they were big dogs. The "boss" then says over the receptionist's phone call that there is a 1 pet limit. Then when I asked if there was a weight limit the answer then changed from 1 pet to 2, then said there was a 60 lbs. weight limit for both dogs combined, as well as it will be $150 per dog for my 4-night stay. Then the receptionist hung the phone up on me without even telling me the "boss's" response. I only know this information due to the fact the receptionist had his phone on speaker. This is extremely unprofessional and completely disrespectful. I am NOT happy.

First of all, its very affordable. Cheaper than Candlewood suites and I believe it was the least expensive suite hotel in Mooresville. I'm sure how many rooms it has, but it features two floors with a breezeway in the middle with seating areas and a grill that's available for use by guests. The room we had was very comfortable. It features the normal amenities that suites has (kitchen, couch, etc.) TVs in the bedroom and living room. Room cleaning is only once a week, but that's honestly preferable if you like your privacy. It's within a half miles of lots of restaurants, shopping, and other establishments (gentleman's club just outside of the parking lots if you're into that). It's good for long or short term stay. Most people staying there seem to work most of the day and go to bed early, so it's very low key compared to most hotels.

Very friendly front desk lady. They are right off the highway, so if traffic noise really bothers you, this place does tend to get that. But it's pretty quiet late at night. Also there are no elevators.

All the "Excellent" reviews are right on the money. Mike, the manager, is a wonderful host offering assistance in anyway and good friendly conversation. The first time I spoke with Mike was over the phone early in the day before our arrival. I explained that I was traveling with a group of other women and that we would like rooms next to each other. Done in a flash. Mike pre-checked us in for our rooms without question. Thanks Mike! Upon entering the rooms the cleanliness was obvious from the start; no perfume smell covering up "other" smells like in other hotel rooms. I always head to the bathroom first, after a somewhat long drive. I have to say, and my friends all agreed, that the bathroom floor was the cleanest I have ever come across in a hotel room, absolutely sparkling! No fear walking barefoot in the room here. One problem I often have is the water pressure in the shower. I was totally surprised to find that the shower head had the perfect water pressure to insure a good wash and rinse and, even better, the tub did not fill up with water because of clogged drains. Just like being at home. The Days Inn Concord is in a very safe area, as one might worry when traveling to a new town without knowing, with even the popular NASCAR teams parking their car trailers behind the hotel at a well known trailer building/repairing facility obviously without worries. There is a nice sized pool, too cold for our visit, and a yard off the pool plenty large enough for even throwing a frisbee. Directly next door is a gas station/convenience store with an attached restaurant which looked to be quite popular. Across the interstate a McDonald's and a Waffle House. One exit south would be a shopper's dream with all the stores one could think to visit. NHRA (I'm a member) & NASCAR fans, make this your choice of hotels for the races as it is the perfect location with less traffic than you are going to get at the other exits. I am writing this review for anyone who should consider staying here before they go out of buisness as they seem to be bound to based on the condition of this place. Considering the rack room rate was only 40 dollars, I was pleasantly surprised to see the cleanliness of my room. I did see a bug but I prepared myself for as much since I had a first floor room in North Carolina in the fall. The archaic television in my room did not work as it has a security device installed that renders it useless should someone try to hook up a dvd player or a game console to it. Even if you have no intention of doing this, the tv will not operate until someone reports it to the front desk and maintenace comes out and fixes it. Unfortunately for me, maintenance was not available. The bathroom is woefully tiny and you have to push the shower curtain aside to use the toilet. The parking lot seems seedy even in the day and the unmaintained pool does little to help this places aesthetic. During my visit, I believe that someone was living in the parking lot as I saw a mattress and some sheets next to the dumpster and a small grill next to a plastic lawn chair in one of the parking spaces. Overall, this is the cheapest I have ever paid for a hotel and I find it adequat for the lone traveler. Also, it is less than a mile walking distance to the Lexington bbq festival. If you are not a lone traveler, I would pass, also, if you booked the room online, I would call ahead to make sure you got the room you requested as I ended up with one king bed instead of the two doubles I requested.
