There's no elevator though so getting to the rooms might be hard if you're wheelchair bound or have bad lungs. The property overall is nice. Beautiful to See, Horrible to Stay At…read more We stayed at Kent Island Resort for a family wedding, along with many other family members and friends who stayed on the property for multiple nights. The property itself is beautiful, and the ceremony and reception spaces were very nice. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended for us. At nearly $400 per night, I expected accommodations that felt far more luxurious than a typical hotel. Instead, we found paper-thin walls, large gaps around room doors, and constant hallway noise. In some rooms, the gaps were large enough to see through when the doors were closed. Every conversation, door closing, or bump against a wall sounded like it was happening inside the room. The bathrooms had been updated and looked nice, but even the shower door would not stay closed while in use. The biggest issue, however, was the fire alarm system. The first alarm went off while many wedding guests were getting ready. One staff member told a family member that a hot shower had triggered the alarm. Shortly afterward, someone identifying himself as the property manager said that was incorrect and claimed someone had pulled the alarm instead. After about 15 minutes, everyone was allowed back inside because there was no actual fire. While false alarms can happen, the explanations we received were inconsistent and changed depending on who we spoke with. After a long wedding day, reception, and cleanup, most of us finally went to bed around 11:30 p.m. At approximately 1:20 a.m., the fire alarm went off again. Guests poured into the hallways and outside until a staff member informed everyone that evacuation was not necessary. The alarm was extremely loud and disrupted the entire hotel. Unfortunately, the disruptions continued. Around 3:30 a.m., loud music began blasting from the lobby area. Family members went to investigate and found no one at the front desk. A group of teenagers or young adults was playing music loudly, and there appeared to be no staff present to address the situation. The next morning, nearly everyone in our group--including the bride and groom--was discussing the terrible night's sleep and repeated disruptions. Once again, we received different explanations regarding the overnight alarm but no clear answer. During checkout, we asked whether the resort could offer any compensation for the multiple alarms and disturbances. We were told that no refund or credit was available but that we could receive 50% off a future stay. Since none of us had any intention of returning, that offer felt meaningless. After we left, my wife's aunt contacted the Kent Island Fire Department regarding the repeated false alarms. She was told that the department had received numerous complaints about the property and that the Fire Marshal had previously been involved regarding violations. Given our experience, that information was concerning. The wedding venue itself was beautiful, but I cannot recommend staying overnight at this property. If you're looking for accommodations in the area, I would strongly recommend staying at the Hilton, the Hyatt, or the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club instead. At similar price points, I believe they offer a much better guest experience.

It was the open door kind of hidden around a bush. Sent there and waited for Brenda. She was kind. Went to get the owner Paul because I mistakenly booked two rooms. He said it was no problem, he could fix it. Gave us the password to the wifi and our key. He told us that we could cast the game onto a tv if we needed to. Awesome! We bought two bottle koozies which, if you don't bring any- this is a must for a hot day. There are maybe 10 rooms to stay in. It's motel style, your door opens to the outside. Our room was super clean. #5. And opened to a sandy area and a volleyball net. A couple groups of Adirondack chairs in the sand. A couple fire pits also. This place is very cool! It's on the water of the Chesapeake Bay. You can drive here or boat here. There are 4 bars. 3 are outside, 1 inside. Although I'm not sure why. They're all very close to each other. Live music today (Sunday) 2p-6p Also on Friday and Saturday While at the bar outside we ordered fried green beans that came with a spicey dip- and were given a small pager that told us when our food was ready - IT WAS delicious! We started a tab at an outside bar and were told that we could order at any of the 4 bars. We went inside when a baseball game was about to start. They have no baseball game channels. Jake tried to help us for a few minutes but got frustrated and walked away. I'm not sure where that went wrong. While inside at the bar we ordered food. Cheeseburger and fries, and wings. Both delicious. Still no game. It was on direct tv. Jake didn't know the password. After a lot of signal searching on my cellphone. (No signal at the inside bar) we found a friend that gave us their log in to direct tv. This is a cozy little local spot. I'd compare the stay to a cottage at a camp ground. It was clean and close to the bar. Walking distance. To sum it up. It was a new experience. A fun stay. Everything except that 4 inning bump in the road when Jake made us feel like we were bothering him.

Sometimes the little things are the big things! And while I love the Marriott brand it's employees like you Leslie that go above and beyond that keep me loyal to the brand. Keep up the good work! My room was 434 and had a nice modern mirror with back lighting which was perfect for applying makeup. There was plenty of natural light and artificial light options. The shower was clean but the water pressure was just a tad lower than I would have liked. They do provide the ability to change the pressure on the shower head so that helped with rinsing out the shampoo and conditioner. This was probably one of the cleanest bed spreads from a hotel. The place was co-designed by West Elm and is clean and has all the amenities you need. There was free breakfast I didn't take advantage of as it ended too early! They also accommodated a request for a later checkout and had an electric charging station available. Super convenient and reasonably priced and employees like Leslie!

Of course, Saint Michaels and the Miles River are famous for the Log Canoe races, which date back to the 1800s. The Inn is situated in Saint Michaels harbor, with amazing views and surrounded by restaurants and boats. However, what we found most interesting was the charm of our room. Each room is named after one of the Log Canoes that still race to this day. We were fortunate enough to stay in the Magic room, the boat that happens to be skippered by the owner of the Inn (and boat yard next door). The rooms aren't large, but the attention to detail and the historical photos and images and furnishings show that the owners care about providing a unique experience that you can't get in any other place in Saint Michaels. Our room had beautiful antiques, but also looked brand new and had everything you would want in a modern hotel. We have been to Saint Michaels many times, and for the most part, you want to be out on the town or in the water. The Log Canoe Inn gave us a historical perspective of where we are, with a great view too! If we are able to get in later this year, we will stay there again.

I've stayed at the Governor Calvert House four times in the last two years. The location can't be…read morebeat for proximity to downtown Annapolis and the Naval Academy. The historic aspects of the Inn are outstanding. The cleanliness is on point. Until my last visit, I would have sworn I'd stay there every opportunity I had. The only consistent complaint I have in all four visits was the AC either stopped working completely (requiring multiple engineer visits but the plus was complimentary wine) or was near broken and not cooling predictably. Other than that, this place was like my dream home away from home. However, there has been a significant drop in service by the front desk and reservation staff starting in fall of 2025 which has accelerated in spring of 2026. Over a four night stay in May, three mornings there was either no sugar, cream or coffee available during reasonable coffee times (7:30am) and I had to go to the desk to request restock. Also, someone reported to the front desk that a large roach was in the men's lobby restroom sink...the women at the front desk (also day shift) laughed and said they weren't dealing with it. These same employees made fun of some visitors who accidentally came to the wrong business by mimicking them after they left. I've received a few emails promoting an incentive for a return visit, but it has "?errors" all over it even when I open in different browsers. When I call about what it entails, I am told they don't know. And that's if I can get them to answer the phone. I've tried emailing and have received no reply after more than a week. Regretfully, I've booked another Inn for my next visit...I truly enjoyed most of my stays at the Governor Calvert House, but I don't like the direction its service has headed and it's too much money to spend for poor service. THIS DOESN'T APPLY TO HOUSEKEEPING OR THE NIGHT SHIFT EMPLOYEES-they continued to be outstanding.

The woman at the…read morefront desk seemed a bit confused on the check in process both in a call before arriving and once arrived, which was a bit frustrating. The room was mostly clean. However, the windowsills and shades are caked in dust. A bit disappointing especially since we stayed in the pure wellness room which is supposed to be allergen friendly and with an air purification system. The furniture with outlets basically all do not work, making it harder to find places to charge anything. The window by the bathroom is broken and was taped back together with painters tape. The bathroom wallpaper was coming off the walls and the shower curtain was falling out of the wall. We tried to twist it back up in place but the wallpaper and wall where it is screwed in appears pulled away from the wall and needs more serious repair. Lastly, $50 per day for valet when there are basically no other parking options is pretty steep and they don't openly share the cost upon check in... just beware of the cost in case you want to make alternate arrangements! If they took a little more care to clean less trafficked areas and ensure things are repaired and in working condition prior to guests staying in the room, this would be a really awesome place to stay.

I'll be honest I'm still conflicted about this location…read more The good: The food is pretty decent and well prepared. Not amazing, but solid. Decent set of breakfast and lunch options for a counter café. Love the curry chicken salad. The dressing for the southwest chicken salad is not great - I would ask for a different dressing or mix it with some ranch at home. The bad: this place is very Variable in turnaround time and wait time. I've gone when they've been empty and had my food prepared rapidly, but l've also gone when they've been pretty empty and waited what seemed like a long time for a simple order. When they're busy and get in the weeds, the line can stretch out the door. All of this seems odd for a location inside of a hotel/event venue like this. Does the management team not coordinate with the hotel staff to know which weekends are hosting weddings, etc.? They should be prepared for a breakfast rush the Saturday after Friday wedding. And regardless, why are they not adequately staffed on weekends in general? I have been here several times on a weekend and it's always understaffed compared to the number of people waiting for food. Recently I walked in and looked at the line, looked at the staffing, and I just walked out. Today (Friday) I came and was the first person in line, although I think one or two people were waiting on active orders. The only dish I ordered was a Caesar salad with blackened salmon. It took 25 minutes for them to cook a single piece of salmon. People who came and got in line after me and ordered after me had their food made and delivered before I got my food. This was despite having tons of people working every station. This was not a staffing issue, but an inefficiency and poor workflow issue. I don't know exactly what the issue is back there but it's clear they have some significant problems with getting orders out on time - and that is not related to the amount of staff they have. Bottom line: if you come on a weekday or in the off hours for lunch, you're probably going to do fine. I would not recommend coming here for breakfast unless you are staying in the hotel and even then I would make sure you leave plenty of time to wait.
