Clean. Simple breakfast and wifi included. Very good for the price if you're going to spend most of your time at Darien Lake Park.

I'm giving 4 stars instead of 2 or 3 because I imagine the parking lot side of the hotel is great…read more But in my 3 times here traveling for work, I've never experienced that - including this last time when I asked for a quiet room because I had a big day the next day. Big rigs fly by on the road just outside all day and night - often engine breaking to add to the noise. I was in a corner 3rd floor room this last time, and despite white noise at full volume on one phone and earbuds in with soft music coming from the other, it was still loud to the point I called the front desk about 1: 00 asking for another room - but none were available. I'm not a light sleeper and colleagues have also said they slept poorly. Otherwise, the hotel is clean and comfortable - 5 stars. The breakfast is good (with higher protein options) and the location is convenient as well - easy to get in and out of. Can't decide if I'll go back. Perhaps I'll call first to see if I can be guaranteed an even-numbered room...

The good stuff: the parking lot was spacious, they offer a free breakfast and wifi and they have a decent gym and pool for those looking for those amenities. Now for the issues. The Elevator was out of order. The gentleman in line ahead of us asked about the location of the gym. He then was asked if he wanted a first floor room due to the inoperable elevator and he said yes. Hmmm. Then when my husband and I (in our 60s and me with an injured right knee) were being checked in, she told us we were on the 3rd floor and that she hoped we did not have alot of luggage. Not good. We inquired about the availability of a first floor room and were told that they were sold out. Serious demerit for giving the first floor room to the workout oriented buck ahead of us in line. The hotel is well appointed and the room was seemingly clean but smelled like cigarette smoke. The temperature was difficult to control. My oura ring said my overnight body temp was +.08 which is very unusual for me. The bed was hard. It was quiet overnight and that was a plus. The bathroom was clean and well stocked with lots of towels. However when the fan was turned on in the bathroom, it sounded like a jet engine was in there with you. A helpful feature for them is a text in the morning asking what your intended check out time was so they could plan. That is efficient. The lobby was spacious with late night snack and food offerings with a microwave available. In short, I would likely only come here again failing other known quantities in overnight accommodations in Batavia.

The morning breakfast was standard for this chain, but evidently their convection oven was broken (that is what the lady working the breakfast area said) and they were having to cook everything by hand, so at times food took a bit to get out. I did have to call for towels since there was none in our room upon arrival. The hostess said they were swamped trying to get all the rooms ready because there was a big concert the day before and the hotel sold out. I wanted to do laundry (since we're half way through our 8 day trip), but I noticed the laundry room was out of order. I asked a lady from room service if there was another self laundry room on a different floor and she said, "No, but give me your laundry and I'll do it for you in our big laundry room." I thought that was extremely nice of her and sure enough it was done later that night when we returned from a ball game. High marks for them for taking care of that for us. Hostesses were nice and despite some issues, this was a good stay for us on our way to Cooperstown.

I was pretty shocked at the price but the clerk said she heard other hotels were charging $1000/ night. I really needed a room so I took it. King suite. One washcloth (there were two of us)!!NO trash can. No Kleenex in the Kleenex box. I don't believe the sheets were clean- found a hair when pulled back. Soap dispenser in shower was not affixed to wall- Just sitting in tub side. Heater made ticking sounds (similar to when you are waiting for a flame to light on a gas stove) every five minutes or so... lasting about a minute. The clerk had told us they had recent renovations. We noticed lots of paint spots all over the bathroom floor. Pool closed due to maintenance. At breakfast- two sets of tongs broke apart when we tried to use them. They only had 5" plates to eat on (kitchen monitor told us "that's all they gave me"). When I used the pancake machine she came out of kitchen and said "oh, is that working?" I said yes. Unfortunately I said it too soon. It spit out one pancake and then stopped working (it was supposed to give two). She was buzzing around and said she needed to clean it up because "corporate is coming today." I'm not one to bitch and get a discount. We were just amused by all of it. For $300 we expected better, but it is what it is. The desk clerk was very nice. We just told her about the room and said they may wish to address those items before someone else comes in. We did notice that she did not apologize or seem surprised by our less than perfect stay. There are many hotels around there. I am an IHG rewards remember so I try to find Holliday inns for my stays. Rewards member or not, I would not stay here again. I would choose one of the others in this location. They share a parking lot with a Hampton inn. Next time, we will try there.

"Jenny, Jenny, Jenny Won't you come along with me…read moreYou know that I love you We could live so happily" (Little Richard) Great location just minutes from Geneseo's Main Street restaurants and the State University campus. Our room had a nice TV and workstation, the bed was comfy, the HVAC and Wi-Fi worked well, and the bath and shower were fine. Included breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausage patties, home fries, a waffle machine, cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, bananas and apples, oatmeal, breads, and pastries. The only odd thing about our stay was the check-in process. The attendant wasn't very friendly and was so slow and silent while working on her computer, we feared that our reservation had vaporized and drifted away into cyberspace somewhere.

I thought "If I'm packing my shit up, I'm only doing it once." I packed and ran into the night manager on the way out. I told him his ac was broken. He said " It'll freeze up if you crank it all the way down!" I replied "Is 69 degrees cranking it all the way down?!" He told me I could change rooms. I told him thought "If I'm packing my shit up, I'm only doing it once." I'm leaving. He told me he could refund $50. I started laughing and said "that's ridiculous, it's not even 1 am. You should give me a full refund". And I left. I drove right by my next Hampton Inn reservation in Ohio 8 hours later. And drove straight home. The Hampton Inn in Geneseo to speak to "Stephanie" today inquiring about where my refund was. She asked what happened and I explained. She said " someone should have offered you another room ". I replied "If I'm packing my shit up, I'm only doing it once." She said, " Well I was going to give you a $50 refund but I'm not, because you're cussing at me!" I said " I sure hope you're recording this call, because I haven't cussed " at you" once! She said, " You said "If I'm packing my shit up, I'm only doing it once." I said" That is not cussing at you, I'm talking about packing my shit up!" She hung up on me. I'm done with Hampton Inn completely. They clearly can't make a repeat guest comfortable and I drive for a living. I'll be staying elsewhere.

I had to drive 6.5 hours through a complete wide out snowstorm, accompanied by ice which resulted…read morein me checking in late. Worn out and stressed. I walk through the doors to an attitude from Tanya saying I was the last person to check in. And apparently she had to stay until I got there. On top of that, the out front unloading zone and parking lot had not even been plowed or treated with salt. Therefore, what a hassle trying to get your luggage in the middle of the night. As everyone knows the brand Wyndham is typically on target however this location is not. For the price of the rooms and the brand was very disappointed, not only with the service but the condition of the room. I will say my bed was very comfortable however, the pillows needed thrown away as there was really nothing left to them as you picked them up they folded into and were all floppy. Zero support! My duvet cover showed a huge rip that had been sewn back together, Underneath the heating unit, there were all kinds of wires that had been spliced sticking out, grabbing your feet when you went by, cloth chair, a huge stain on it, mini fridge was frozen up, coffee pot was dirty, dirt around bathroom vanity faucet, bathroom exhaust fan didn't work at all, peeling paint from the bathroom mirror frame, grout in the bathroom with two different colors, tub drained very slow, towel had someone else's hair on it, bathroom door frame all scratched up, remote control was dirty, and some features not even work on it, wasn't able to connect to Wi-Fi the entire time there. As I missed my dog on the trip, I stopped at the front desk to ask if there were breed restrictions and the cost.... Quickly, the lady rolled her eyes ( same lady that checked me in with the attitude ) and ask what I had, followed by an attitude as to why it cost a extra$ 75 per night for a dog ( keep in mind I didn't ask why ) but she definitely lead on that. She didn't appreciate dogs being there and she said it would be cheaper to leave them at home. She stated that everything has to be taken out of the room and cleaned afterwards. Yes I expected that but the level of attitude I received was very unwelcoming. Perhaps it's time for a career change for this individual as she is leaving a negative impact on this hotel. Can we say " bad apple "? Everyone else here was very friendly. Noticed same bags of trash, set out by the residence for pick up for days. Elevators were a slushy mess in the lobby coming in pretty much the same. Wasn't able to enjoy the heated pool or hot tub due to unruly children running, screaming out of control as they were doing cannonballs....and of course, the parents were doing nothing. Parking was a train wreck as they didn't plow any of the parking lot or parking spaces, therefore it took up a lot more space because people couldn't see the lines and a lot of people had to park at the bank next-door and lug all their stuff across the snowy parking lot. OK now for what I did enjoy. Bed was comfortable and clean, rosemary, scented toiletries, hot complementary breakfast with delicious coffee. Friendly and helpful staff ( except for gray hair lady at the front desk ). Great location for walking to and from on a ski trip.

While the breakfast was just so-so, the coffee was actually pretty good. However, a front desk agent named Tanya completely ruined what could have been a great experience. As a handler of two service animals, I was shocked by her lack of knowledge regarding the ADA. Upon check-in, she asked questions about my specific disability, forced me to sign a "pet form" (service animals are not pets), and aggressively threatened to evict me if the dogs barked--despite them being silent and well-behaved. It created a hostile environment immediately. To make matters worse, my room keys were deactivated four times in two days, and when I tried to book a second night directly through Wyndham instead of Expedia to fix a rewards issue (as Tanya suggested), she was rude, dismissive, and refused a simple upgrade or late checkout even though the hotel was visibly empty. The physical hotel is nice, but until they train their staff on federal law and basic hospitality, I can't recommend staying here if you want to feel welcome.
