YIKES! After reading some of the reviews I decided to chance it and book the hotel anyway (because everything else's was full). That was a big mistake. I'm used to paying reasonable prices for an average hotel, and certainly not afraid of a little scum in a shower/sink or stains on a carpet. But this was a whole new ballgame folks. Remember that game you used to play when you were young? The one where the ground is hot lava? That's how we moved in our room unless we had shoes on. Except even all of the "safe zones", like the bed and chair, were equally terrifying. I just hope that the sheets and towels were clean since we had no choice but to use them. Stay across the street at one of the other hotels. If they're full, stay in another city and drive a little further. Trust me it's not worth it. Take a look at my pics if you don't believe me. My husband & I stayed here for 2 nights for my cousins wedding (actually my whole family who was out there did too). Booked the room here because it was closest to where the wedding was in Onalaska and the price was great, got the room for $59 a night. We ended up with a room downstairs, which was recently remodeled. Had a nice clean smell, fridge, and microwave. Also the a/c was really good, which was nice as it was in the 90s during the day. The sink area was outside the bathroom too, which is handy for getting ready when someone is using the shower. One of my other cousins got a room upstairs, which just haven't been remodeled yet...older rooms, no fridge or microwave, a/c wasn't great either. Lee Roy in the office was great! When we initially went to our room, it was on the pool side, but we discovered it wasn't done being cleaned. We went back to the desk and he quickly changed our room to the parking lot side. He was also very helpful and gave us some good information about the area. The pool was really nice, just a bit tricky to get into because of a weird latch. The pool was open until 10pm, but the first night we were there several of us were in there until close to 11pm and no one seemed to mind, which was much appreciated. Not sure why the hot tub was filled in with rocks & gravel...too bad, cuz after a long day of traveling a soak in the hot tub would have been great! The surrounding area was nice too...Denny's right next door and Jack in the Box directly across the street. Also 2 gas stations which were open 24 hrs. Surrounding neighborhood is other hotels/motels, gas stations, & restaurants. Even though the motel is right on the freeway, it's not super noisy either. Easy drive to shopping & other restaurants...and Chehalis is pretty much half way between Portland and Seattle, good stopping point - as we noticed the place was pretty full later on in the evening as travelers were stopping. For the money we spent, nice place to stay. I'd stay here again! read more

I read the reviews and they seemed pretty negative, but I was only staying one night and leaving at 4 AM so I figured I could put up with anything rather than pay twice as much for the hotel across the street. The person who checked me in was very friendly and helpful. My room was very clean and comfortable. Overall an excellent stay. The price is right and the hotel is close to restaurants. They deserve 5 stars as it is one of the better budget motels I have stayed in. read more

Seriously the nicest staff!!! Everyone I've come across has been so sweet and helpful. My room is a normal $65 room. Nothing flashy. The bed is clean. There's a little mold on the shower curtain but not too concerned about it. There's warm water and a functional a/c / heater. Better than sleeping in the car. It's not fancy just a warm comfy place to crash that doesn't break the bank. Oh breakfast is the bare minimum but you can kill the morning stomach grumbling with what they have. read more

I have backpacked and stayed in hostels all over the world so I'm pretty easy going when it comes to where I stay. We stayed here on our way to Portland during the STP bike ride. We got a hotel as some in our group did not want to camp. We all regretted that decision.... Without making this review a novel I will just cover the worst parts- when we checked in the woman asked us if we would like a smoking room or one w pet odor. (Why were those two things even an option?!) I am sensitive to smoke so chose pet odor. What they should have said was "cat piss" because that's what it was. Along with a nice mildew smell anytime I wasn't smelling cat piss. Along with the smell, the room was dirty, the windows were so old and cheap they barely closed, and there was a rolled up ball of pubic hair in the bathroom. Yes, you read that correctly. My dad pulled the curtains closed and then went to go wash his hands. We had just bike 109 miles and continuing on to Portland through the night seemed like a better option when I saw and smelled our room for the night. I will say, on the phone prior to arriving the staff was very friendly and helpful. They were anything but in person. To cap it off, we paid $180 for the night, which was probably jacked up because of the bike ride got g through town but it was exorbitant for the quality. I will definitely never stay here again. read more

Their pet policy, as explained to me, is that you can have a pet for one or two nights, but not on extended stay. They allow cats as well as dogs. I selected this hotel because it was a very short walk from a major RV dealer where I needed to leave my RV overnight for some repairs. First of all, you cannot get an RV into their parking lot, the "driveway breezeway" past the office is too low. Thus, I had to park the RV outside the shrub area, but next to the highway. Even this was dicey because a heavy rainstorm left a lot of very deep mud puddles and pot holes. Navigating the very deep pot holes and mud puddles was fun! The shrub area was very close to the "front" rooms. I asked for a "front" room because I needed to remove items from my RV before going to the repair place. As I said, can't get the RV into the parking lot. Well, technically, none of their front rooms are for pets. Ok, I'll live with it. BUT! The recent weather issues causing floods in the last few days had affected the front rooms, and they weren't able to rent all of the front rooms. Apparently, a combination of weather issues, plus maybe the nice lady felt sorry for me, she let me have a "front" room. I hope her manager doesn't get mad at her. ********************************************************************************** Dear Manager of this hotel: Please do not get mad at your employee. I am really grateful for the front room because it facilitated me being able to unload my RV. I will try to make sure my cat does not cause any issues. THANK YOU, I am grateful! I use FireFox and Firefox claimed the Wi-Fi was unsecure, so use at your own risk. The free breakfast in the morning was basically a "bread and water" thing. You had a choice of muffins, English Muffins (and a toaster), Belgian Waffles (make it yourself); and the beverages were Apple Juice, Orange Juice, Coffee, or tea. Subway, Jack in the Box, and Denny's within short walk. Also a Kit Carson coffee shop nearby if you don't have your car. I am very grateful for staying here, as it facilitated what I needed to do to get my RV in for repairs. Actually, the only thing I didn't like was that the door was hard to open. Card key worked just fine, door was just hard to open. (Ok, if you are on the bottom floor, as I was, you will hear the occupants above you walking around....) read more

Cobwebs, dust on hairdryer, water runs down red wall, holes and some patches... oh yeah burn marks on sheets and white stuff on bedding I almost puked. AC unit was nasty. Trash and cigarettes and matches outside the door. Furniture broke, lamps taped... My daughter freaked out and people staying there were making gestures towards her, not safe feeling. Looked online for a place in the area for a 6 night stay. Totally forgot to check yelp for reviews. Wish is did prior to arriving. From the start I should've known it wasn't the place for me. After our experience.. We searched for another place which we booked the remainder of our stay with but wasn't available til the next day. So we were forced to stay one more night. Front desk Driving from SeaTac only to check-in with someone at 2am who was not friendly at all. No greeting, No small talk. Just straight to the point. We had to say "Checking-in" before we even heard the first word. Noticed next to the couch was a cooler full of ice cold water. (Which still didn't raise a red flag) First entrance to room There was a musky smell. Had to open window to air the room out as we got settled in. Plus kill 2 flies and a spider above the entertainment center which was on the white wall. Carpet edges had visible dust. Bathroom Smelt like urine. Toilet was a little dirty. Shower head had some filt. Showered with our slippers on. One towel had a little dark brown stick about an inch in a half stuck in it. You could clearly see it if you were paying attention while folding the towel since towel is white. 2nd towel had a yellow stain. Bedding Didn't look dirty. But woke up with a few bites. Noise You could hear movement going on from the above unit (which was mainly right above our bed) so we didn't sleep very well for the 2x we tried to sleep. 5hrs after checking in we went to Walmart to buy cleaning products and bedding. Returned to CLEAN THEIR ROOM ON OUR VACATION. Scrubbed the sink, shower and toilet. Also mopped the bathroom floor. As I did this my boyfriend talked to front desk and he walked over and spoke to the maid. I finished cleaning all of that and still no maid showed up at our door. 15 mins after cleaning we were leaving our room. As we walked to the car....Finally seen the maid who said "Have a good day" as she walked toward our room. While out we went to the laundry mat to wash the new bedding we purchased to sleep on for the last night. Stayed out til about 930pm doing what we came to town for just dreading to walk back into the room. Now that we been out all day I was curious if the bedding was CHANGED. Walked in and Voila! SINCE I CLEANED the bathroom...our room smelt a whole lot cleaner. BUT we lifted the covers so we could put our new and clean set onto theirs only to find my hair still on the sheet (which I placed there on purpose). So after I did their job by cleaning the bathroom the maid still couldn't even change the bedding. Ugh! Mind you NO ONE touched base with us to check to follow up on our situation. 1 star for the water pressure and getting our balance back with no hassle. That's the positives about my stay. Let me just preface that I was going to leave a good review until the last 10 mins of our stay.... We are a family of 6 and stayed here for not even 12 hours and were charged $245! We were moving from WA to Nevada so we had our kids and pets in tow. Not ideal but we checked in at 10:30pm because the weather was horrible and we just needed a place to sleep for a few hours. We drove up and I checked if there were any rooms and then asked, if they were "pet friendly". The lady said yes. She didn't ask how many animals and what they were (ie dog/cat). I explained that we were moving and we just needed a place to stay. She told me she had a room and it was $95. So I paid and asked where we could park because we had a 26 foot moving truck and also a trailer attached to our car. She said we could park where we were. We ate at the 24 hour Denny's and went to bed. The next morning we got the free breakfast which was decent and passed the owners who were working on the room next door putting in new flooring. They wanted to know when we were going to leave because they wanted to work on our room next and we were also parked in a precarious spot. They even helped us back up our trailer so we could re park closer to where we could load our car which was nice. However, it quickly spiraled downhill as we loaded up our car to go. We had 2 cats, 2 dogs, and 4 kids we had to load so we did this in shifts. The owners saw us doing this and didn't say a word. Once we were done loading, I asked one of the owners if I should leave the key in the room. He replied yes so we did. My husband had to ask a question and so he went into the office to ask and was told by the gal there that we needed to pay an additional $150. The owner saw that we had 2 additional kids (that were 2 and 4) and we also had cats.... My husband came out and told me and not wanting to argue and get on the road (we had a 12 hour drive ahead of us), I paid it. The front desk gal apologized and said that usually people are "mad"...so this tells me that this is an ongoing issue. Later on that day, we decided to contact corporate and file a complaint. The corporate office was sympathetic and told us to call our bank and cancel the transaction. I tried but the transaction had already cleared so the only recourse was to file a complaint and hope that the EconoLodge Chehalis would issue a refund. In the end, the motel refused to issue a refund. The corporate office did what they could but each motel is independently operated. Soooo....just as a warning...Skip this one and stay at the Best Western across the street. All and all, I would have paid $50 extra for the extra pets and kids but $150...that is just plain crazy! read more

WARNING!!! BED BUGS!!! I'm from Seattle, I was in the area because of work. I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The first night as soon as I layed in the bed, 10 min later I start itching like crazy. Didn't think anything of it. Stupid of me. The next morning I woke covered with bed bug bites. I spoke with an employee there (will not mention his name) he told me as I quote " Nobody had ever complained of bed bugs but because of the way management was, it didn't surprise him". I had to stay there another night, since I was there due to work I did not have a choice. Next morning I woke up literally covered in bites. I spoke to management, they told me they did not have bed bugs. As soon as I got home I went to the hospital and it was confirmed that it was bed bugs. My doctor called the hotel manager and also faxed them some papers saying it was ' bed bugs ' that had bit me. I'm still waiting to see what they are going to do about this. I'm warning you, don't stay here, BED BUGS DO LIVE HERE!!!! read more

We were in Chehalis for a family get together. I will say this, if we had been downstairs (where my family was staying) I would have given this place three stars. If you stay upstairs it will be one star, guaranteed. The hotel was remodeled on the first floor only circa 2007-2008 due to floods that hit the area. Those rooms are nice, and worth the price of stay. The upper rooms are quite the opposite. The furniture is stained, the dresser had a piece hanging off of it, the TV was made around when I was in HS (that was a long time ago), the carpet was pulling away from the wall. The pool had trash all around it and the hot tub is filled in. The breakfast is a full on carb load... Waffles, English Muffins, and mini blueberry muffins. No cereal, no fruit, no milk, no oatmeal (even instant). I will not stay here again... even if it was in the 1st floor rooms. read more

Walked into the hotel and was greeted by a very nice lady who was very helpful and polite. Walked up to my room and wanted to throw up form the smell. Mildew and animal smell was over powering. The bathroom had dark hairs on the floor and the shower wall, I have blonde hair.... Heater smells gross and the toilet won't shut up. The website shows a pool. No pool, it is filled in with dirt and grass. No hot tub... I could see where it use to sit. The heater was messed up, however, we finally did get it working. No closet at all...just a bar in the bathroom to hang clothes. No hairdryer, they give out shampoo, but no conditioner. No extra blankets or pillows in the room. Coffee maker didn't have an outlet where it sat on the corner of the bathroom sink...we had to relocate it to the tight area around the sink where it was in the way. The room was very small... but clean and comfortable. They did serve a few items for breakfast, waffles, biscuits and gravy, tiny bagels, hard boiled eggs, juice and coffee...and a few other items. The price could have been a bit lower for what we received. It was nice having restaurants, fast food and markets within walking distance. Close to the freeway, so there was a bit of noise at night. read more

If I could give this hotel a ZERO rating, I would do so. I made a reservation over the phone and was told explicitly that my card was only to hold the reservation and would not be charged. I then had to cancel my reservation due to family emergency. The management CHARGED ME for a room I NEVER STAYED IN and to top it off, I NEVER SIGNED, or AGREED in ANY way to any of their supposed policies. NO AGREEMENTS OR CONTRACTS were ever discussed or signed and yet they charged my card illegally!! When I tried to communicate this to the manager and requested that she call me, she REFUSED to CONTACT ME!! I suggest that you don't give any card information to this place because you might pay for something you never approved! They are refusing to refund the fraudulent charge and the manager has still not contacted me. Now I am afraid I must contact further avenues to ensure this doesn't happen to others. **In response to the comment below, I was never sent an email because I was never asked for an email address. read more
