We had 4 bedroom windows and 1 patio door completed by Ecoline. We originally went with this company as they told us that there were no glass delays for them and that everything was made locally. This was in 2021 when this was an issue. This ended up being untrue and everything was delayed. Install was finally completed in Jan 2022. Our patio door was the first issue that I noticed. We could barely open it. It took me over a year and countless visits by their techs to finally say that the door was defective. I stayed home for dozens of these visits missing work and activities/family time, and no one would take notes or submit paper work and it was ALWAYS me following up with the company for anything to be done. Their trim work is also done so poorly, it splits within weeks to months after install. They told me if I wanted it done nicely that I would have to pay extra. They also use a copious amount of caulk to fill in any gaps on the exterior. They also damaged our walls and new flooring during the install. We had other windows done by another company as we were fed up with Ecoline and this was not an issue for any of their windows. I am now dealing with our replacement patio door. It is bowed and now leaking cold air into the house. I have reached out to them, and of course I know this is going to be a painful process to get anything rectified. I do not have any hope that they will do anything. Lastly, they demand payment upfront and before any work starts. They will just stand there until they are paid. This is because the company will make the workers pay the company if a client does not pay. Highly unethical. A client should be able to pay once the work is done and you are satisfied, not before. There is no hold back in case poor work is done. I have lost countless work days, time with my family and energy with this company for them to rectify their issues. If I could go back in time I would not have chosen Ecoline to replace our front door. It was installed October 1, 2025. On October 2end my wife sent me a picture of daylight showing on both corners of the bottom corners. It is supposed to have an adjustable threshold. Mine had 3 adjustment screws randomly placed in the middle, no where near the corners. 3 weeks later they come back and start drilling holes in the threshold to install the adjustment screws. So my "new" door is already modified. I give it a really close inspection as they are doing the modifications. I find 15 more defaults. Paint chips, scratches and multpule pinholes and white spots in between the side glass. So much for my "new" double powder coated door. They want to fill the holes, use touch up paint to cover the paint chips and scratches. Then replace the sidelight glass. It's now almost the middle of November and I am still dealing with this door. Service has already been back 3 times so we have to make arrangements to have someone at home. The 1 window they replaced seems fine. I would and already have not recommended them. read more

I have no complaint with the quality of the windows, but the service is subpar. I say this because a project that began June 13 is still not complete as of August 6. Having mismeasured a window it took 7 weeks for a replacement window to be installed. A watermelon sized hole in our front hallway drywall from initial installation is still not repaired and we went without blinds on our street side windows for a month. We will now wait an indeterminate time for the blinds for the window installed today as well as drywall repair. We have had to wheedle and beg for this job to be completed and the damages to be repaired. In their haste to depart they left the screen door locked on wide open. When I opened the front door the family pet could have easily zipped out. NOT impressed. As this is a federal green home initiative we still have to keep all stickers on the window until one of their inspectors can schedule an appointment. This has been an entire summer-long project! 1. When our windows and door were held up in production for more than a month, we never had a phone call or email to keep open communication. The only way I was to receive any information as to why things were held up is if I called. 2. After the being late by a month and a half, its time to book the instal. I don't know how they run their company, but it seemed to me that everyone's late product had come in at the same time and there was barely any dates left that were convenient for instal. So we book for 2 days later between 1-3. 3. The install guy gets there at 4:30, its already dark. I call the office and say I don't have a good feeling about them installing in the dark. The office assures me everything will be fine, they do this all the time and they will be able to finish everything. Wrong! Door and Window look horrible from outside. They didnt even get to third window. 4. They leave a huge mess, cause they were rushing. I even felt bad for the install guys cause they were set up for failure. They come back a second time and the 3rd window is installed perfectly. They leave a mess tho. So they have to come back a 3rd time. 5. The 3rd time they come back to repair window and door outside. They dont repair, they paint. They clean up the mess outside downstairs (but not upstairs). And finally I called EcoLine office EVERY step of the way to say what a bad experience this was. Shady company. Horrible experience. Now they're trying to bribe me into changing my review. Seems a little suspicious that all of their positive reviews are from accounts with one or two reviews. All of the negative reviews state that, like me, they were bribed into changing their reviews - ordered the door in June 2022 - was told my door it would be installed by oct/Nov - July 2022 caught the sales guy driving by my house super slow. As a single young female this made me feel very unsafe. When I confronted him he said he just wanted to check out the house??? Why? The product hasn't even been installed. This is stalking. - postponed several times due to things in their control - their website contradicts what they told me about the parameters for installation - rude customer service - refused to give me a refund. As per their contract, if the item was not received or installed within 30 days of the contract being signed then the buyer can cancel. They claimed this was not possible - threatened to take them to court - door magically installed one week later - incomplete install, items installed were not what was ordered (missing sealant and wrong colour brick mold) - item damaged in transit - waiting weeks for them to fix the issues - they have attempted to bribe me into taking down my review - offered a 25% refund - changed their minds and said they would not give me a refund unless I deleted my review and signed a non disclosure - i deleted my review - never received the non disclosure form, which was supposed to be emailed to me within an hour - reposted my review - received a phone call stating they wouldn't give me a refund until I deleted the ad and signed the non disclosure. Then they would send me a check. - obviously I don't trust them. Said that I would sign the non disclosure and delete the review when I had the money in my hand. My experience was/is terrible, customer service is zero. Consistently change delivery dates with no explanation. I have no photo to add because I still don't have my unit that was ordered at the beginning of June !! You cannot talk to anyone that has any idea as to what is going on so don't plan your project around this company, you will be disappointed. I was not impressed with the company because their was little to no communication and you could not get hold of anyone in the company other then the rep that sold you the product. Pushing Greener Home Grant for a rebate which was a scam. You had to put out a pre and post evaluation which cost 1 grand on top of the cost of the windows, Greener Homes Grant would give you 600 towards the cost after the installation was finished. On the paper work for the windows it said Greener homes gave a grant of 1 grand. I had a problem validating my e-mail address, I went threw 5 different ones and it still didn't work. Green Homes contacted Enerhomes to do the pre and post evaluation, I was concerned so I contacted Greener Homes and asked for conformation and was told the account was cancelled because it was inactivate. I refused to get the pre and post evaluation done because the account was cancelled so I didn't get that rebate. Apparently Hydro also has a rebate which I was told Ecoline did the paper work for it .I have no clue what is happening with that grant. This company lied when they said the windows where the same size. The main bathroom window is so small it is a joke. I lost 5 inches off of the original glass size. The other windows lost 5 inches off the glass area which i am not impressed with. My master bathroom window went from 26inch glass to 21 inch glass area, that is 2 1/2 inches off the top and bottom as well as 2 1/2 inches off either sides. As it is I would not recommend your company to get the windows done due to the way it was presented. As a senior I took the reps word that the windows meaning glass area was the same, when I asked about the main bathroom window being able to open I was told it was to small for a slider to open it I took the reps word that it was because of where it was located not because I was losing 5 inches off that window. It doesn't matter if this review doesn't get posted I will let others know and to beware of the presentation and how they will be loosing the volume area OF GLASS. read more

They measured wrong and cut an irregular and incorrect hole in the concrete and the window they installed would not fit into the space without inches of caulking all around! I am no tradesperson but I could easily tell this was a micky mouse job that I would never expect from professional installers. Instead of the sevice people admitting the window was too small they just installed it improperly, hoping I would not notice. I had to call them numerous times to fix and had to escalate past Anastasia because she would never return phone calls. Eventually they finally admitted that the window was the wrong size and another window was installed. The final result being a window with an inch disparity end to end, and cheap splintered casing! The window would never be level because they cut the concrete hole wrong. Management took no responsibility with the exception of a small cash payment for the casing that was finally provided once I complained to the BBB. Eventually I just gave up. I should add their install and re-install of all these messed up windows took over a year! read more

The windows fit well, are keeping my home warmer and were installed better than my home's original ones. As the windows are still brand new it is too soon to comment on their quality. The after sale care is very poor. Calls were made to advise me that my windows were being manufactured on time but they didn't come. A month later I got another call saying they were starting to manufacture my windows. When I called them out on this and asked for an explanation on the conflicting calls all they said was COVID. This doesn't explain the misinformation and without any supporting information just sounded very hollow. Another 2 weeks later I was advised that my windows were in transit. I asked which transport company they were using as it is 4 days from ON to AB by truck. No answer other than hostile remarks that they could not tell me and there was no one for them to ask, and no, they did not have a record of the shipping of my windows. Two weeks later, after I inquired, they agreed to set an installation appointment even though the windows had not yet arrived. This time I was informed they were coming by CN Rail, which has a poor record for on time delivery of low priority shipments. Incredibly disappointed with this company. They came to site to assess and we went over how we wanted to replace a window with a sliding door which meant the reframing would be wider. Upon receiving the quote - I verified all was included and it was confirmed. It took about two weeks to get answers to some of the questions I had - I was told we were good to go and that I would receive a link shortly for payment. When it came to paying, they informed me that the scope of work has "now changed" and that it would be $600 more. I called their office after sharing my frustrations with the price difference, and let them know that they had recorded the call confirming the scope of work and cost - and their response was that it would now be $1000 more rather than the extra unforeseen $600 - and that they would give me a discount if $500 (which in all reality because they kept bumping the price it was less than $100. Both reps I spoke to were unprofessional and lack integrity. I requested to speak to a manager and they refused to to give a name and spoke over me until they hung up. Needless to say that the process leading up to was very lax with response time and they were 2.5 hours late for their walkthrough. They notified me 15 min prior to arrival time that they'd be late and provided a new time. No follow up from there on and they showed up an hour later then when they had rescheduled for. When getting quotes from other vendors - I had shared the specs and quote from ecoline, and their response was "I never trust quotes from ecoline". I guess I understand why now. read more

Then when they came to install the windows, we were informed that one of the windows was accidentally sent to Toronto. They promised to install it as soon as it was sent back. It has now been over three months and they still haven't installed our last window. That window could have been shipped here a hundred times over by now. BUYER BEWARE. Good reviews can be ''purchased'' via cash back, bad ones cannot. Check BBB.org, Google Reviews (even thought the bad reviews are flagged to make them disappeared), yelp.ca We originally contacted Ecoline to have 12 windows replaced. We are on the Vancouver North Shore and we were looking at double pane windows with clear glass to keep the natural light flowing into the house. Ecoline suggested that we should go for triple pane with Low E coating, for almost the same price, and also to take advantage of the BC hydro rebate. We mentioned several times that natural light was primordial, and we wanted clear glass, rebate or not it wasn't a deal breaker. The representant reassured us about this concern. This was a mistake. The vendor never mentioned that the windows would be darker with a grey to blue tint when the sun hits the windows. The pictures talk for themselves. When we realized that the wrong windows got installed late June 2021, we stopped the installation process and ask the representant to come to the house right away to show him. He suggested that we finish the installation and deal with this issue afterwards. We called and called, sent emails, nobody got back to us. We then decided to post a review on Google after two months. Within half an hour, someone called us! The person said we would find a solution and ask us to remove the review. Good thing, we did not agree. At no point in time we could reach out to the regional manager. All communication got filtered at customer service, and it was very difficult to get names or any real contact information. After several emails, Ecoline ordered a ''clearer'' window sample to be produced, without us asking, and schedule for installation for comparison. The Covid situation not helping, it took several weeks to hear back and have it installed. It still wasn't clear glass! What was then the point! The customer service representative, willing to help and find a resolution, ordered a second unit that got installed November 9th. The sample window was clear glass and got installed in the living room next to a large tinted window for comparison. We immediately contacted Customer Service happily thinking we found a resolution... but this wasn't to be the case. This time Ecoline Customer Service called us back with a man on the phone. He didn't introduce himself and was reluctant to give his name. From our understanding, he is the regional manager. First time after 5 months management contacted us for a conversation, where we screamed at and told to ''shut up'': this conversation was recorded. In conclusion the man offered to replace only 4 windows out of 12. It was a stressful phone call. Why would we go all this way to have Ecoline say that they would only replace a couple of windows, and if we wanted more changed, it would be at our cost. We were hoping to have a very different conversation. We did not agree. The manager said that was that or nothing. And since then, the conversation has stopped. We are now left with an installed sample unit that has nothing to do with the rest of the windows. This sample is clear glass, all the other windows are tinted. Having to deal with such issues, is stressful. Going into winter months, the house is darker. We work from home and that impacts our quality of life. When the sun is out and strike the windows, we have to deal with this non natural blue tinted light (see the pictures). After all the money and effort to improve our home, we feel that Ecoline 1-) neglected to tell us that 3 pane windows come with a blue/grey tint which darken your home, 2-) shuffled us around in the hopes that we would drop our complaint, only to conclude with an unprofessional aggressive conversation with a partial proposal. We are devastated with what we have been put through in these past months as much as we are constantly reminded of the windows everytime the sun shines in and the light comes in grey. Please be aware and ask all the obvious questions. With a company such as Ecoline, we also advice you record all conversations. read more

This is the second time we've used Ecoline to do an installation. The first time was windows, this time it was an entry door with a side light. The estimation process was quick and painless. The reason I'm giving 4 stars rather than 5 is because of a delay in the installation. This was not all their fault. The Novel Corona situation has caused delays for other services. It would have been nice if the installation schedular would have been a bit more proactive in contacting us rather than requiring us to call them. Regardless, the installation was done on a day when there was a light snowfall going on. The installers were on time and did an excellent job. There were a few issues they ran into once the old entry way was removed, but they handled it with professionalism and stayed until the job was completed (about 7:00pm). Pricing seems on par with other first-rate companies in Calgary. Because this was the second job they did for us, we got a repeat customer discount. We have some more windows that will need to be replaced and we will be going back to them for the additional work. Highly recommended. read more

The installers were awesome -- very quick, efficient, and kind (helped with a glitch in the payment process, took time to relocate a bird feeder that was on the wall outside and needed to be moved, did some problem solving on our old-and-not-straight house). Every patio door and every window has at least one scratch and the amount of caulking!!! Not only the amount but very sloppy and looks like hell. They also damaged our Duredek in two places (they refuse to reimburse us - it's going to cost $1700 to fix). They also damaged a screen patio door while installing and 6 months later tried to replace it with another damaged door but we saw what they were up to. 6 months later we are still waiting and really don't have much hope. We are now caught up jumping through all the hoops of small claims (CRT) to get reimbursed for our deck. This has been a nightmare! The BBB is showing a high rating - don't believe it!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They have the absolute worst service I have ever experienced. We didn't get what we ordered, it took a YEAR for our doors and windows to finish being installed, they were constantly late or didn't show up for scheduled installation appointments, they damaged our door and tried to install it damaged thinking we wouldn't notice, they constantly come up with excuses and will start screening your calls if you actually try to hold them accountable to get your items installed. We actually had to turn off our caller ID in order to have someone answer our phone calls asking about installation dates and times. This is the absolute worst company. They caused us so much headache and frustration over the last year and we still did not end up with the products that we wanted. We specifically asked for all sliding windows and our salesman Ian Beschieru messed up all of our specifications for our order and now we have half crank windows and half sliding. We also have front and back doors with deadbolts and a door handle and when they ordered the new doors they ordered ones with just one hole in them and wouldn't provide any monetary compensation we had to live for 2-3 months with just a deadbolt in our door and no door handle. read more

BUYER BEWARE! Ecoline Windows presents itself as the honest, best case scenario alternative for window replacement in Edmonton. However, there are many reasons why they should not be your number one pick. 1. PRODUCT - after all you will be living with the windows for many years to come. The product is average at best. It is manufactured by a factory in Concord, Ontario (just north of Toronto) called Vinylbilt. The glass is often streaky, scratched or has debris in between the panes. The vinyl is often scuffed or scratched. Coloured vinyl can have missing patches. The sliders leak. There are other companies that carry this product, and some of them for a fraction of the cost. 2. INSTALLATION - second most important, as even a good window will be a bad window with bad installation. Ecoline Windows has some good installers, however by far not all. Not many of them know the intricacies of the trade as outlined by the building codes. The main objective is to get it done quickly and to spend as little money as possible - a sound business strategy, but by far not the kind of approach you want for your home. Corners will be cut where possible, material will be re-used, and some will even try to convince you to accept a sub-par performance. In addition, the installers are independent contractors, and as such are not direct employees of Ecoline Windows. 3. WARRANTY/RESPONSIBILITY: Ecoline Windows claims to have one of the industry's best warranty packages. But what does it really mean? The windows themselves are warrantied by Vinylbilt, the patio doors are warrantied by Sunview, the entry doors if you are unlucky enough to buy one from them are warrantied by the supplier of the month. The labour is the responsibility of the installer, which as I mentioned is an independent entity. The promises made during the sales appointment are the responsibility of the sales representative - again an independent entity. If there is an issue, yes they will work with you. If it is a simple fix that is clearly covered under the warranty they will resolve it, even if it takes 3 or 4 tries and months upon months of waiting. However, if it is something a little bit more contentious, where there is no definite fault by the supplier, installer, sales rep or the company, then you are in for a wrangling process. To be clear, Ecoline Windows and its owners will rarely dip into their pockets to satisfy a customer. THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW: Blinds - the back of the contract says they are not responsible for existing blinds fitting back into the opening. If you do not have an EXPLICIT statement on the contract stating that the blinds are to fit back, then chances are that they wont, and there is nothing that you can do about it except pay more money to have them adjusted. Doors - generally are poor quality, and on top of that none of the installers know how to install them properly. DO NOT buy doors here. Culture - like many window companies, it is a Russian owned, and operated business. There is a handful of non-russian speaking employees in the office, there are ZERO non-russian speaking installers, there are ZERO non-russian speaking sales representatives. Resumes of Canadian candidates for installer and sales positions are not considered. They would rather hire a Russian with minimal experience than a seasoned professional who is non-russian. FINALLY: Know your rights! Know what constitutes a legal contract. It must be itemized, it must have a specific date of delivery. If it does not, then you have grounds for cancellation even beyond the 10 days afforded by law. read more

See Greg J's review for the hard truth. Got three windows retrofitted - one, the wooden frame is bashed and trashed in the process, one is fine, and the third is not level. Apparently, one cannot install a window levelly in an un-level frame (I'm an amateur even I know this to be false), but these guys will take it to the ends of the earth denying culpability and acting as though your concerns are idiotic - "after all, you have a warranty". Rather than discuss things with you clearly and transparently, you get to listen to installers and supervisors converse in russian and then present you with whichever argument they've agreed on - my installers said it simply was impossible to install the window correctly, then my salesperson (who was not a part of this conference) suggested he would send a new installation team to reinstall correctly. I have no doubt that any warranty claims I wil have to make with this company would be more headache than they're worth - these "gentlemen" have no interest in assuming responsibility or customer satisfaction, simply throw the window into place and move on to the next. So many other choices, do yourself a favour and go with one of them. I know I will from here on in. Of course, if you'd like to indulge in some rock-solid mansplaining and condescension, pick up the phone and give these guys a call. Product - dubious Installation - unacceptable Customer Service - nil. **since posting this review, I have received a call from Ecoline's director of operations, suggesting that since I posted an honest review, I should repay the 5% "sorry-not-sorry" discount I received or my account would be in arrears. When I informed him that I had a voice recording of my conversation with his subordinate confirming my balance owing, a credit card statement demonstrating the balance as paid, and that I would not tolerate being bullied, he offered me a total $500 discount to remove any and all of my reviews from social media. read more

I wish there was a negative rating. Be careful, they don't stand by their install or product. I should have never paid when done, as they just wash their hands of your issues. Sales never told me they changed the way the product looks during production, and the company just blamed the poor little sales guy. Feel terrible, as he made a mistake, but just shows you that the customer and their employees mean little. I would prefer to go with a smaller outfit that truly cares about it's product and employees. My neighbours, friends, and family will get an email to stay away. I'm just one customer, but I will ensure that everyone who asks me about windows, I will not recommend Ecoline windows. read more

I paid the deposit in May for windows and doors. The windows got installed in July, 2 months after, the doors haven't been installed, it's the end of AUG. They said the door hasn't arrived. I have waited for almost 4 months for installation. I don't want to wait for it anymore and would like to cancel it but they say I can't cancel it. Bad service, I have to keep follow up with them for windows and doors installation. read more

horrible services! where to start!! first they took two days to finish a job promised to finish in a day (only 5 windows to install). It was so obvious the installers were not professionals. once done, they left a huge mess and dirt on the deck and inside the house (floors). around the windows from outside is not sealed! there is a huge gap between windows and frame! you would think after 3 months they take to order custom sized windows this shouldn't be an issue unless they did their measurements wrong! the corners of metal pieces around the frame that cover the window from outside are not coming up together and there is space between them. they silicon job they did around windows there are wholes in them. the left two big chips in the wall (requires mudding and painting) around two windows from inside. it has been 3 weeks we are contacting them to come and fix the issues (the service they promised they will do until we are happy) and no response from the whatsoever!!!!well this is not all of it. never go with them! I am surprised they have good reviews. we must have been sent not skilled installers. ************* UPDATE: after the review posted online we were contacted and a very professional installer showed up and fixed the issues. We are now happy with the windows and that is why I updated the original rating of 1 star to 3 stars. If they had done the job they did after these process at the first place they would have definitely be given a five star by me. read more

Waited 2 weeks for the service department to contact us just to have them tell us we needed a 156 dollar part including installation to repair our patio door. This was to be prepaid and would be at least a month. The part was 21 at home depot and was repaired in less than 10 minutes. Pricing is not the issue, but to wait 2 weeks to be told give us money and wait another month is unacceptable. read more

We ordered 2 windows and sliding glass doors from Ecoline. When they arrived, the installer waited in the driveway until I paid my balance, which I was happy to do. When I was on the phone with the office, they told me their credit card system was crashing. They wanted an etransfer. I insisted on the credit card payment and it worked first try. Then, they installed one of the 2 windows we ordered. The screen was torn. The other window did not arrive. Worst of all, they installed a door without a lock. We specifically requested a door with a lock because this door is the only way in and out of the suite. We spoke with the company after the installation. They said to talk to the salesman. When we reached him, he said they'd look after the door without the lock when they received the parts. I explained that we needed it immediately because we can't leave the suite without locking it. He said he'd get back to us. That was 4 hours ago. This after the whole order was a month later than promised. read more
