Oh boy... where do I even start? I had a mirror I picked up a couple of years ago--great quality, originally from a dresser--however it didn't speak to my space and ultimately, I was on the verge of parting ways with it. Unexpectedly, I thought up a project to salvage the mirror while adding character to my space and needed to remove the mirror from its frame. This felt risky to do on my own. After searching for frame shops, I came across Eco Framing and gave them a call. Eric answered and immediately said he'd be happy to help. They treated my project with care, removed the frame from the mirror for me and wrapped it safely so I could take it home to continue the next steps. I was welcomed back when it was ready to be framed again. The turnaround was quick--just a couple of days--and I was thrilled with the final result. This team truly helped bring my vision to life. We use Eco Framing for all our picture needs. We recently purchased an eclectic piece of art and went to them to frame it. They have many frame options and matched the color schemes perfectly. While there, I also purchased one of their unique pieces, which you can only find at Eco Framing and come from detailed photos of the art in Coit Tower. The owner, Bennett, is a world-class photographer, and his pictures hang in many of the courtrooms in the SF Bay Area. Check them out! read more

I am so glad we discovered Eco Framing! Ever since the pandemic we have been trying to support local businesses whenever possible. After the recent earthquake, a large picture fell off our wall and the glass shattered. I went to Eco Framing and Eric was just amazing! The frame itself had separated at the corner and Eric repaired and reinforced that area. He recommended two options for replacement glass and demonstrated each option on my painting. He cut the glass, repaired the frame, put the dust cover and hanging wire back on the frame all while I waited. Talk about fast, efficient service! He even gave me better quality hooks and nails so this wouldn't happen again! This place has state of the art equipment, including a computer based mat cutter for precision service. They are extremely well stocked for ALL framing needs. I will never again go to a chain framing store. read more

Eric did a great job for me. It was a relatively minor procedure to apply a new back to of one of my limited editions so the collector can see my signature. But Eric took a very professional approach to make sure the details were correct and that I was happy. So, of course, I went back and had him do a similar job on one of my original paintings. I am very happy with the work he did and would have no qualms about recommending this business. read more

Can't speak highly enough of this company and Eric's professionalism and attention to detail! If you need custom framing done, Eric is the man! He helped with choosing framing and mattes, and he explained the whole process to ensure my art was in good hands. I've gotten several custom frames done, and I will not hesitate to go back again. read more

Eric did an amazing job framing an assortment of posters including several treasured ones from concerts at the Fillmore. He also framed an irreplaceable hand-written autographed set list, presenting it beautifully in a shadow box. The materials were very high quality and Eric took the time to make sure they complemented the art work perfectly. The location is a little sketchy but once you get inside all the art work on the walls is worth the trip. It's definitely pricier than some random frame shop and I found that the process of selection and then getting the project completed was a little lengthy, but the end product was worth every minute and every penny I spent on it. read more

Wow! Bennett, Helen and Eric transformed our art and took it to the next level! Bennett told me that the frame is the stage on which the art performs. Well, they built beautiful stages for three original serigraphs and accented the pieces in elegant frames that take your breadth away. They provided thoughtful suggestions and didn't cut corners (figuratively) special ordering a unique matte board instead of just selling me what was in stock-- which was likely good enough... but not good enough for their high standards! They also framed our daughters art work-- nothing will replace the look in my girls' eyes when they saw how "professional" their art looked. They also crafted a large beveled mirror built to fit our space with a unique custom fame and extra secure z-bar hanging system. The mirror created the sense of openness and flow-- all without knocking down any walls. Best of all its nice to know that they use all eco friendly materials! Worth every penny. Would highly recommend Eco Framing for anything from kids art to high art and everything in between! read more

I returned from an impactful trip where I purchased a significant piece of art from an acclaimed Cuban artist. I soon realized that both of my favorite framing vendors had closed during COVID, leaving me with very few options. Without any viable leads or recommendations, they began an internet search which led me to Eco Framing. The first indication that I had found the right on Ace was the initial call with Eric. He answered the phone with a courteous, positive, helpful and professional spirit. For the in-person consultation, that vibe continued. Eric took in the piece, then listened attentively to the feeling I wanted to evoke in framing it. I appreciated his knowledge of the products and his explanation of his process. He provided several options within my price point and we worked together in achieving the look I wanted. Two weeks later, upon picking up the finished product, I am beyond pleased. The piece is presented and highlighted in such a way that it will captivate everyone who sees it. In a word, it's stunning! I am so glad to have found Eco and Eric (his dry wit and sense of humor is great!) and will definitely be back. read more

I recently found an authentic Ting Shao Kuang limited edition unframed serigraph selling on Etsy for $9,275 less than his publisher's gallery was selling them, so natch I bought it. But then I had to figure out where to get the piece framed in Oakland. Enter Eco Framing and Eric their head framer. Eric was wonderful to work with - He has marvelous sensitivity to color, line, and shape. He made picking out the frame and matting a breeze. I am so happy with the end result! And the best part was not the excellent craftsmanship, super fast turnaround time, and great service: the total price was 40-50% less than other framers I have used in the past. I will always go back to Eco Framing for my framing needs! read more

Don't buy the Yelp "$50 for $100 worth of framing" deal. I bought the deal thinking I would be getting a discount. However, when I went in and tried to redeem my discount, they actually ended up charging me MORE than my original quote. There were a few "Sale" frames so when I got my first quote, I received 10-30% off various components. Then when I presented my Yelp discount I was informed that they would remove all the Sale discounts (this was only for 2 small framing jobs, by the way). All told, I ended up having to pay $5 MORE after paying for & using the Yelp deal than I would have if I had just walked in without the $50 discount. It really makes no sense to me. At the very least, just charge me what you originally quoted. Ultimately the framing was nice. Not a fan of their sneaky attempts to overcharge me though. read more

What can I say? These guys are simply the best framers in San Francisco. But they are much more than framing specialists, they are artisans and designers that understand how to make art POP and how to visually make your pieces fit any setting. It's like getting a design consultant for free. And if you ever need anything for your office they can really give you a hand and not make it look like the typical industrial crap that you see in most business settings. The price is right and the workmanship is outstanding. They are the only framers I would ever work with. read more

I have to admit I was a little intimidated when I saw the website. They've worked with some impressive clients and exquisite pieces. Would my simple and eclectic pieces collected during my travels over the past 25 years and some photos of my family be a bit beneath them? No way! Eric made me feel very welcome, treated my pieces with care and respect. Accommodated my schedule. He made excellent recommendations that made the pieces work cohesively and joyous. Three pieces are now my background during my zoom calls and without exception people compliment me. I have no hesitation recommending EcoFraming and Eric. read more

I cannot tell you how pleased I am to share with you two experiences with Eco Framing! Many years ago, my sister gave me a cross-stitch that she made celebrating my daughter's birth. Eric recently took the piece that was in a simple frame and helped me select a new but traditional matte and frame that honored both my sister's art and my daughter. Wonderful work. On another occasion, my daughter went to a Maroon 5 Concert as a VIP and Eric took the loose tour poster, VIP badge, ticket and tour souvenir then matted and created the perfect collage with a simple and more modern matte and frame. The loose items are now a piece of art! If you need or want something framed with great style and workmanship, this is the place to go! I'm definitely going back!! read more

I recently went to Cuba and purchased an art piece that was painted on some kind of fabric canvas. When I first arrived Eric worked with me and had me describe what it was that I was looking for. He was beyond patient and definitely took his time going through different options.
