The crew protected the house from the front door to the attic hatch, vacuumed out the old dusty/settled insulation, sanitized the attic floor, and sealed obvious air gaps around light fixtures and penetrations. They added proper baffles at the eaves and installed everything up to code-recommended levels. Start to finish, they were on time, professional, and left zero mess. We noticed the difference the first evening--quieter, more even temps, and the HVAC isn't running nonstop. Pricing was transparent, the proposal was detailed, and communication was great throughout. If you're debating whether an attic cleanout and re-insulation is worth it, this was one of the best upgrades we've done to our house. Highly recommend Insulate SB for anyone looking to clean up their attic and improve comfort/energy use!

The entire team was flexible with scheduling, which made coordinating with other trades so much easier. Their installers were clean, professional, and genuinely friendly -- which is a big plus when you have people working inside your home. I personally met with two other insulation subcontractors on our project, and Insulate SB's proposal and responsiveness stood out as top-notch. We felt very comfortable moving forward with them, and they delivered exactly what they promised. Highly recommend Insulate SB to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, professional, and customer-focused insulation contractor in Santa Barbara!

Based on consistent good reviews, I contacted Shelter in August of 2025…read more We had experienced numerous electrical power outages for several years, so I began to investigate possible solutions. What I wanted ideally was a system that would automatically power our home in the event of a power failure. I initially looked at generator systems, but discovered several downsides to that technology. Generators need fuel, which could be be gasoline, diesel, or natural gas. Of these, natural gas was the most attractive, but that would require significant trenching for a new line around the house. In addition, placement of a generator was a problem, due to zoning requirements. Also, gasoline/diesel/natural gas generators have an internal combustion engine, which needs maintenance, like oil changes. The best solution for me was to have a battery backup system installed. This type of system is also known as a "power wall." Shelter recommended a 2-battery system made by FranklinWH (WH stands for Whole House). The batteries are 15 KWH each, for a total of 30 KWH. In our case, this is sufficient to power our home for 24 hours, even during the summer when we are using the central A/C. Other times of the year, 30 KWH would power everything for 48 hours or more. Since installation we have had several power failures, ranging from a few minutes to several hours. In all cases, the backup system kicked in so quickly that didn't even notice. We didn't even have to reset any clocks. When then grid power comes back online, the batteries recharge automatically. Shelter did a great job of understanding what we wanted, and provided an excellent solution. We had a very minor issue that we noticed several months later, and Shelter responded immediately to remedy the issue. I recommend Shelter Roofing and Solar without hesitation.

5 stars for E&E Attic Insulation, and Joseph in particular…read more Joseph first visited my home almost four months before any work started. When I finally reconnected with him, he hadn't been chasing me with follow-ups or pushing a sale, which I really appreciated. Over several visits, he walked me through the process and the material options in real detail without steering me toward any particular choice. He even told me that more expensive doesn't necessarily mean more effective. That honest education is what set him apart from the other companies I talked to. His pricing was also a great deal compared to competing quotes, and he was willing to work within my budget. The job included insulation removal, new attic insulation, and an attic fan installation. The crew was extremely detail oriented. They sent periodic status updates with photos throughout the day, so I always knew where things stood. They protected the house well and cleaned up thoroughly when finished. What impressed me most: Joseph refused to accept payment until all the work was complete and he had done his own final review. He spotted things that didn't meet his standards (things I wouldn't have caught or known to look for) and made sure they were fixed before sending the invoice. Since then, he's checked in several times to ask if I've noticed a difference and has offered to come back if anything isn't right. Honest, educational, and held to a high standard. Highly recommend E&E Attic Insulation.

We had an urgent request to have old insulation removed from the attic in time for upcoming roof work and Rayce, sympathetic to our plight, fit us into 805's tight schedule. What really stood out was his kindness and his sincere interest in helping us out with unique circumstances involved with the removal, and clearly discussing ways to do it best and efficiently. The two guys who came out did an excellent job safely removing the fiberglass batts and thoroughly cleaning up afterward. It was a tough and challenging removal and the guys were diligent and professional throughout. We highly recommend the services of 805 Insulation if you want to be heard, to have professional work done, and to have from start to finish very satisfying results.

As such delays that are due to poor equipment or experience are "not their fault", so expect delayed work and limited responsibility from management to deal with issues. From a spill going 200 ft down the street that I had to clean up and then bring to their attention, even though it was attempted to be covered up by dirt, to a 1 day project taking 4 days, they accept zero responsibility. I was in contact with their manager since work was done to 30 days post when they placed a lien without any notice. When I then contacted the entire team I was told I had not been in communication and again, no self accountability taken. Work was not to speck in area and foam had inconsistencies in texture and color potentially showing mixture problems.

Their quote was fair, and they were very personable. I felt quite comfortable with them. They came out two weeks later (after my house painters had finished) to do the installation. They were right on time, did a really nice job (it looks very good), cleaned everything up, and made sure to communicate with me that some of the mesh would need to be installed from the outside rather than inside the attic because they couldn't reach those vents from the attic. On the plus side, John also informed me about Zone Zero legislation, which I didn't know about. I immediately did my research and thankfully what he told me will end up saving me a ton of money as I was going to re-landscape around my house. I had removed some bushes before getting the exterior of the house painted and was going to put in flowers, but now I won't put in flowers and instead do rocks or decomposed granite.
