We stopped by again today, and I purchased my dress. Silvia, a sweet lady who works there, helped us find even more items. She put together an outfit for my boyfriend, found shoes for me, and styled us from head to toe. I really appreciate her. She is such a problem solver. I've worked in retail long enough to know how hard it is to find someone as helpful as she is. She is very natural and makes you feel comfortable talking to her. Tons of black and alternative clothes, accessories and bags. There was a couple hats too. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of items and sizes. They have plus sizes too!!!! Yessss. Thank you for carrying plus sizes as well. There's a section in the back for trading goth clothing. So bring your goth clothes and trade for something new! How fun. Love the concept of this and it helps the planet. I got a rockabilly goth dress, a skeleton purse (tote), a Killstar wallet, and a Victorian goth lace fan. I wanted to but the entire store to be honest. I loveeee all the clothes here! They had sweaters and jackets too. And some makeup, candles, corsets, skirts and fishnet tops. I absolutely love everything about this independent business. First, the owner and everyone who was working there were fantastic! I guess I'm considered an "elder goth" at this point, and this store makes my black heart happy. There was such a variety of items, and they are priced to sell, not overpriced, which is awesome. Men's & women's clothes, shoes, belts, bags, and so much more. I think my biggest takeaway from shopping there is that it was comfortable. There was no pretense of being gothier than me or other customers because I certainly did not look it when I went. No pressure selling tactics. Eclipsed Emporium is a charming goth boutique that impressed me with their quality, surprisingly affordable selections and I would absolutely recommend this shop to anyone looking for cute alternative fashion to wear in Long Beach. They had several plus size racks as you enter the store, and while I am clearly at the top end of what sizes they offer, I was still able to find a few items that I absolutely adored - a knee length, velvety skirt in a unique heraldic damask pattern, and a long, asymmetrical hoodie tunic that feels straight out of a cyberpunk video game. I paid less for these two items than I would have at Hot Topic or Torrid (assuming they had anything that fit me in the former, or goth at all in the latter) and the quality definitely seems superior too. There are many clothing options for any gender that would be perfect for a Vampire: The Masquerade LARP or Interview with the Vampire cosplay, and while I would have liked more gothic lolita choices, what I did see was extremely cute and wearable for everyday outfits. There are traditional punk items, buckles and bats on boots, lots of bats and coffins - it all feels very "old school" in a good way - I'll probably come back for a Siouxsie t-shirt cause it made me feel so nostalgic. The shop owner was very friendly and eager to make sure my partner and I were having a good time finding what we wanted in store. She said they were still a bit (understandably!) low on stock after Halloween, and I definitely want to come back to see what else they might have next time. I don't look like someone who'd be into alternative fashion, but this has been my scene for decades, and it was so refreshing not to feel out of place or unwelcome here. I can confidently say that Eclipsed Emporium is easily one of the best shops in Southern California for goth fashion. Their selection is massive from apparel to makeup, which includes many different brands in the scene. While that alone is amazing, it's really the love for the subculture that makes this place shine. There's a great thift selection and even an option to turn in your old stuff to get store credit. Staff here is friendly, and it's an environment that makes you feel safe. What a delightfully dark addition to the Bixby retail shops! At first glance you may guess it's something like Hot Topic and I suppose you're right considering there's not many stores around that cater to dark/goth fashion needs. However, unlike Hot Topic that has become a front for brand collaborations and trendy pieces of cheaper quality, Eclipsed Emporium has taken the time to curate quality items in the Goth, Rock, and a little bit of Steampunk aesthetic. Such a great store, with a good selection and REALLY fair prices. I'm a huge fan of the vintage section and the First Friday nights with live music. Reminds me a lot of the goth/alternative stores of the 80s and 90s, but updated and more inclusive. The lady working was soooo sweet. She helped me pick out some things to try on. She even stayed open 15 minutes past closing because I needed some extra time. Genuine sweetheart. We met Tuesday the owner at one of the Bixby First Friday thingies when she was promoting her shop-to-be with unique jewelry from small artists. She was hella nice so we were excited to see her store open and it does NOT disappoint. I've always enjoyed this aesthetic but have never been part of the 'culture,' and I know sometimes Goth hotspots like these can be clique-y or judgmental if you're not 'in.' Eclipsed Emporium never gives that vibe at all; Tuesday has always been very welcoming and truly passionate about every piece she stocks! She supports brands both big and small and the space is very comfortable with lots of dark and fun clothing and accessories to peruse. There's lots of recognizable e-commerce brands too like Killstar and Dracula Clothing, so it's a nice opportunity to actually see, feel, and try the pieces on in person. Last time I was in, my fiancée and I snagged a secondhand Killstar unicorn PJs set, a gold and black jacquard double-breasted waistcoat, and a casual sleeveless hooded top. There's really something for everyone. There's also a secondhand section which is great, both for your wallet and for the environment, since the fashion industry as we know can be pretty wasteful. You can bring in your (good condition) secondhand clothing and get some store credit for it too! It's mainly street parking so be prepared; sometimes we park in the diner parking lot if they're closed but idk how strict they are about that! Anyway, support small businesses! This shop has an absolutely fantastic collection of goth/punk/lolita inspired styles and they even have pieces in a full inclusive size range. This is the perfect spot to check out if you've ever been interested in buying from online shops like Killstar but prefer to try things on first.
