I went in 3 days in a row and was greeted and welcomed warmly each time. I was impressed with their customer service and encouragement to play any guitar I chose, no matter the price. I dealt with a gentleman named Tom who was knowledgeable and helpful. On my last day at the store, I bought my dream Martin. It was one that I had heard of but only saw for sale online. The frosting on the cake was they carried it to my car for me because I was not supposed to lift anything over 10lbs. I hope can back there soon! A++++

Hubby and I went out of town and had our son house sit for us. Our young, inexperienced but well…read moremeaning son misplaced his keys and resorted to kicking the door in to get in. After repairs and additional hardware the door needed to be repainted. I brought paint chips in that had flaked off the wood windowsills (same paint as door) to have it matched. I regret that I don't remember the lady's name who helped me but she was awesome! I'm the last person in the world that should have a paintbrush in their hand but this lady walked me through every step! It was tough to get a perfect color match given the weather worn, oxidized chips that I brought in but on the second try we nailed it. It was such a good match that I painted the areas on the window frames where the paint had chipped off and you'd never know they weren't paint at the same time with the same paint. Oh, and of course the door came out perfect! I wouldn't hesitate to return if I'm ever unlucky enough to have to paint something again.

This location for Ace is fantastic! The guys there are so very knowledgeable and always super…read morehelpful. If I have questions, or need help, I know I can count on just asking them questions there in person, and leave with what I need. However... we need to talk about the 1 star experience with the young females you chose to hire lately, usually to work at the front desk. They have bad attitudes, and seem to have no product knowledge, they also seem to treat customers like they are somehow beneath them. I was struggling with my 2 year old during checkout the other day, and the cashier girl kept giving me bad looks like I was holding up her day plans or something. And I think her demeanor was a bit contagious for the customer in line behind me, because it ended up with me feeling a bit put-out at my favorite local Ace! So management. If you read this, please retrain or fire the bad attitude girls. Please and thank you. lol!

Hardware stores -- There's no middle ground for me. I either like them or tolerate them and that…read moredepends on what I need. Forget the nearby big-box stores, I don't have the patience or the time to find what I need and before I even get to that point, I can never find an employee. These are firmly in the "tolerate" category. The smaller places, a mom-and-pop shop or even a place like Ace Hardware work well for me, seem to have what I need, and I can find an employee to help. These are the kinds of stores I like to browse through and find things I didn't know I needed. Who would have thought I'd need to exercise a budget restraint in a hardware store? Ace carries kitchen, grilling, and garden supplies as well as local merchandise like candles, soaps, and general knick-knacks, and a limited selection of clothing. When it comes to basics, I'm a fan of this Ace Hardware for being the antithesis of my experiences with the nearby big box stores.
