Completely ridiculous. I scheduled an appointment for a check engine service while also providing the code for what was wrong with the car and what needed to be fixed. I was charged the diagnostic fee for the service. My service manager was not communicative at all. After six hours of waiting to hear about how long my car would take to be serviced, I called the dealership only to find out they had to order the part and it wouldn't be in for four days. So I was left in the dark and would have waited all day without knowing my car wouldn't be ready. I have a service contract that should cover any damages from bumper to bumper while in the warranty guidelines. But I was told it wasn't able to be applied because of 'outside damage' when my car has absolutely NO damage to the outside of the vehicle. This is a service department, lack of customer service and finally Jeff Eckert review. I would prefer to leave no star but the system does not allow it. On January 23rd, 2025 at 4:50pm I received my confirmation email from Eckert Hyundai confirming my February 6th, 2025 7:30am service appointment. You have to include the purpose for the service visit therefore my included: Engine Performance Diagnosis (Running Rough, Other), vehicle jerks during take off, also need sunroof seal repaired, wind noise heard during highway driving. So with that information you would think they would know which tech(s) they needed to diagnosis my vehicle. I actually dropped my vehicle off the day before on February 5th, 2025 about 5:00pm, my thought was they would have my vehicle there ready to go first thing. My first issue was when my service advisor checked my vehicle in and informed me that they hoped to get to my vehicle within 1-2 days. I was a bit surprised by that because I had an appointment and I assumed the idea behind setting appointments was so that service department had an idea on what was to be expected on any given day. I mean they had approximately 12 business days (and yes that does include Saturdays) to plan for my arrival. Even though I was not happy about being told it might take them 1-2 days to get to my vehicle I left it anyway. Obviously hoping for the best. Well, February 6th came and went with no communication from my service advisor (admittedly I was annoyed) but to be fair she did say 1-2 days. On February 7th at 11:38am I sent a text to my service advisor asking if my vehicle had been looked at yet. She responded at 11:53am advising it had not been looked at yet. At 12:00am I asked if my vehicle was going to be looked at today. At 1:37pm I received a response back apologizing for the late response and that I was next to be looked at and that she was hoping it would today and if not then it will be Monday. To be honest I did not respond because I was again annoyed but I also was never notified that my vehicle had been looked at. So now we are at my second issue! Why do we make appointments and then have to wait days after that appointment for our vehicles to be seen? I arrived at the dealership on February 8th about 9:30am and picked up my vehicle. I did that because the lack of communication was horrible and I did not have any faith on when they would actually get to my vehicle. Before leaving I made it a point to stop in and asked to speak to the General Manager. I was directed to Jeff Eckert's office. I will give him some credit because he did wave me into his office when I motioned to him through the glass wall. I introduced myself and went through my experience and asked for some explanation on the expectations of them getting to a vehicle when an appointment has been made. He explained that it does depend on why the vehicle is in and when that specific tech(s) is available. He also mentioned the 1-2 days just like the service advisor did. We were now into day 3 (and yes I am counting Saturday because the service department is open) and my vehicle had still not been seen. I informed Jeff that I was not happy about my experience and did not understand the point of making appointments. I explained to him that I actually purchased my vehicle from them and that I have actually scheduled service appointments before and that those experiences went well. Here is my third issue. He took down my contact information, he actually looked on his computer (I am assuming he looked up my purchase and service history) and looked me in the eye and stated that he would get with his service manager and that they would contact me on Monday (February 10th). Well I am now writing this review on Tuesday (February 11th) at 7:25pm and not a word from anyone at Eckert Hyundai. Always the best service experience!! I use them every few months for oil changes and other maintenance needs. They are attentive, on time, fast (while you wait if you want), friendly, professional, courteous and do an awesome job. I never feel they are ripping me off or trying to "up sell" me. The service department made an error recently and gave me a free oil change for my time and trouble. That was a very pleasant surprThey have a nice waiting room too. This was probably the worst experience I've had through a dealership. My mother called several times to inform them why it was towed and what the issue was and no one called back? Yet, as soon as I stepped in the office; they suddenly remembered we had left voicemails? My car was left outside the gates unlocked during the holidays. An employee in the service station had the worst attitude and was beyond rude about why my car was left there. If I could give it 0 stars, I definitely would. This place is the absolute worst when it comes to service. Sure, they are nice - they always end a call with "Have a nice day" if you're into that. However, they have no clue when it comes to fixing cars. Both times my car needed what should have been minor service (like programming a replacement key fob) it ended up taking more than a month, with them rendering my car inoperable the entire time. They do not provide loan cars, and are really terrible. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!! My mother purchased a 2018 Tucson three weeks ago from Josh at Eckert Hyundai. From day one there has been a tire losing air. We brought it to the dealerships attention right away. As a matter of fact, due to the on going construction and the vehicles location on the lot, Josh, the sales person, made a comment regarding his concern over nails, or other objects that may or could damage a tire. After bringing the vehicle back to the service department, them "looking" at it TWICE, they supposedly fixed the problem. Today she took it in for the THIRD time in regards to the same issue the dealership has been aware of. Instead of actually fixing or replacing the tire, they turned my mother away, claiming they do not cover the tires. Well ladies and gents, my mother is fully aware the tires are not covered. However, when the problem existed from day one it's obviously something that needed to be fixed by the dealership. The sales person, Josh, has a condescending entitled attitude as well as many of the other staff members. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone!!! Once again my car is going to be operated on.apparatly the parts are more expensive than the hours it takes to put it on, but the car needs a ctalac converter and I was told very expensive for my car.it will be in the hands of Jimmy. Don and the mechanic the price posted to me was 1300 labor and all,so please stand by I will follow up on this review and could change it. read more

Do yourself a favor and check Eckert for a new car. Stan is still the guy, but we also dealt with Gabe and he is a great guy! They put you through a single round of classic "back and forth" with the "manager", but just know where you are comfortable price-wise and stick to it. They will do the deal if they can. We are on our third Hyundai and extremely happy. read more

I let them change my oil and they did great. I am back for repair and I regret it... I wish I never took my car to them. My car needed repairs and it's been there 6 weeks. I worked at a collision center in the past. I've never seen this poor of service. Boo and hiss on Eckert service. read more

I will never do business with this dealership again. Purchased a 2016 Hyundai Elantra in June. Come to find out, (2 weeks later) it had previous damage which I wasn't aware. The undercarriage and rockers are bent underneath the car. I went to the dealership spoke to my salesman, who then got with the service manager who stated there was a repair order on it, but the damage was only 300 dollars and didn't see a need to repair. Service manager referred me to the repair shop they use to have them look at it and get a quote. I got a quote for 1800 dollars. Went back to the dealership, showed paper work. Was told they will get the GM involved and that he will call me in a few days. Few days later GM called and said there is nothing they can do, the car is as is and this happens to used cars all the time and was offered a 100 dollar gift card. I just hung up on him. How insulting. This is my first car purchase and they have made it less than pleasant. I called my salesman last week to see if my tags are in so I can be done with this dealership and he no longer works there. How convenient!! read more

Don, the service manager was beyond helpful. My 2011 Sonata engine seized up on me out of nowhere. I am new to Texas and haven't even lived here a year so I didn't know where to go or who to trust. I had already gone to a few mechanics and other Hyundai dealerships by my office in Dallas to ask about a rebuild or replacementi and the answer was the same- Hyundai dealerships weren't interested in helping and mechanics were charging what seemed like outrageous amounts of money. I had finally given up when I realized I hadn't called the Hyundai dealership in Denton. I called over and right away Don was upfront with me. Gave me out the door pricing on the installation portion and then found every available engine in the metroplex online and told me where to go to buy the best motor. When one fell through last minute, he once again directed me to other engines to ensure I found the best one available. The install was done quickly and most importantly at the agreed upon price. No BS up selling or "hey we found this" just straight up honesty and a job well done. I highly recommend taking your Hyundai to Don at Eckert Hyundai is Denton. He'll take care of you. read more
