I never leave reviews but due to the fact that there are few options in our area for cabinets and…read morethe cost one pays for them is high I felt compelled to share an honest review. We did a complete remodel of our home and needed cabinets for bathrooms, utility room, and kitchen. If you're looking for a company that will communicate with you effectively and consistently, you should not choose Beard's. They will not go out of their way to check in with you or request an update on your timeline. They are not guaranteed to be in office during their hours unless you call ahead, and you're lucky if they answer the phone. Now, the positive is that the cabinets themselves are very beautiful. Ive never had cabinets so sleek when you're taking in the view from across the room. The shelves and doors are nice and hold up well even when our kids ram them with their push walkers and bang toys against them. Still no scratches. They are also very knowledgeable about their product - there is no denying that. A little pushy - but all in all helpful in that aspect. However, do not expect Beard's to caulk your cabinets to the wall (I've never had cabinets that weren't but that's my experience) and it does change the overall look when up close. They also did not clean up pencil marks, scratches, and dents that they left behind to my walls. I was also disappointed that when contacting them to notify of mistakes they would pass the buck, the blame, onto my contractor or another sub that I hired (for example we had a toe kick that was twice as far back as it was supposed to be according to the specs and left a huge gap collecting dust between subfloor and the cabinet and it's as if they didn't believe me and blamed my tile company for not tiling all the way). They went so far as to install trim over my floating shelves without consulting me and blamed it on a "crooked wall" despite the fact that they managed to caulk the cabinet below them to the same wall (the only cabinets they decided to caulk). Again, nice product as long as you take it upon yourself to lead communication and push to get what you payed for. We were pulling our hair out in frustration with the level of service and are disappointed in that aspect. The cabinets are beautiful, but I don't know if they are worth the price tag.

We had agreed on the install date of October 1st about 3-4 months in advance. We tore out our kitchen on September 25th. On sept 29th he informed my dad that he had 3-4 customers ahead of me and it would be at least another week to 2 weeks. I checked back just about every week and it was always, " we will have them ready next week." He has just about every excuse in the book. This went on for months. By then it was too cold to do dishes in my patio so I moved to the bathtub. Finally the boxes were installed on November 16th. Then I had to wait til December 15th for my drawers, doors, lazy Susan. The installers were going to leave without the handle holes cut and told me they don't do that after Steve had already promised me this do I had to hold back the final payment. They came the next morning and finally finished everything. So after being 11 weeks past the original promised install date I had a beautiful set of cabinets. Pushing out my cabinets so long put me out an extra 4 weeks for my countertop install so I wasn't able to cook/bake/wash dishes for the holidays. I didn't get everything promised such as the lazy Susan in by bottom corner cabinets or my corner bread box and the finish work isn't top notch but I'm happy with the outcome. The tile contractor came out to install my backsplash and the cabinets aren't level either. So double check the finish work. But If you're on a budget and have 6 months to wait I think you'll be happy with his work just do not tear out your kitchen til you see the finished cabinets in his shop!

On another order I asked to have new bathroom viny, floor installer tells sales person they're is nothing wrong with the floor Denise, suggested a different idea for laundry rm.?! In fact the Bath lanolin had been water damaged, discolored, bubbling by toilet and when ripped up subfloor a wax ring needed replaced. I still continue to use Factory Flooring until the owner didn't like it when I I complained that installer wouldn't put old cleaned carpet in storage there, Installer saw a rattlesnake hissing earlier when retrieving materials for job there, he reused to put old carpet in covered storage so it was put in back of a truck. . I agreed too. Hers the topper he took left over laminate and key to storage, and Denise sales asked me what I want to do with it? Well since Factory Flooring is well aware I live in LA and Denise would hold key and laminate, That is when I said I don't want this guy installing my flooring on the next install, that was being placed. That is when Factory Flooring told me "lets part ways". Denise returned left over laminate and key at vacant home. Thank you Denise! They already got paid $6k for it so all they WILL do is charge me $2.6k to replace the cabinets doors. My doors and drawers are in great condition, there's no need to replace them but I can't afford to pay someone else to take it all down, sand, prep and re-paint again. NOT HAPPY They said they wash the cabinets down and the paint isn't sticking because of oils on the surface over the years. Well sanding takes care of that. And my question is...If YOU KNOW your method doesnt work well with refinishing, why keep doing it that way? I SEE WHY THEY HAVE TERRIBLE REVIEWS. They came over to give an estimate and didn't have an example of what the finished product would look or feel like but told me it would be enamel-like. Its more like a thinner, less covering paint. It was supposed to be in gloss and they did a satin finish, so no shine at all. I also spent a lot of time and money choosing my color. Went thru 17 different samples and they cost $8 each. But I found my color, they said they can match anything. It was supposed to be a faint sage color. They said they couldn't match it on the DAY OF WORK. If I would have known that they couldn't match it, I could have given them my second choice which was a warm vanilla shade. But since it was the day of, I just went with it. The cabinets doors and drawers are very thinly covered and lots of chunks and hairs and grit in the paint. Now it does look nice from afar but not up close and not the color i chose, but what they chose FOR ME. They told me "we dont have every single color" but i was told they could color match anything. It was quick and finished on time but not the color I wanted or the sheen and you can see some areas where I did paint swatches on the doors, just the outline of the old paint because they dont sand anything. Paint is already chipping off and lots of areas that came off when tape was removed. I took pics and sent them so they came out and asked where the issues were. I pointed out all the chunks, hairs, areas that were already peeling off, the nail that was sticking out and they just painted over it and minimal coverage areas. They said i signed a contract acknowledging that there would be "some pitting" , i didnt realize "some pitting" was every surface, front, back, top, bottom, left and right. It just looks like it didn't get full coverage. Owner said i was "too picky" and he'd be proud to show off this work. Well I guess thats good cause its going on your review! They said they would touch it all up and if I wasnt happy, they would re-paint. So after the touch up, I said I wasnt happy because the coverage was still showing the wood color thru. Owner said they weren't going to repaint. I was like? You JUST told me that you would re-paint but now you wont. So I said I guess we're done. So a few days later, owner called and said he knew i didnt like it and was unhappy that the paint comes off so easy everywhere and the coverage is so thin. So he told me i could pay another $2.5k and theyd replace the doors so that the paint wont come off the new ones. I have to do it because the paint is going to be a disaster in just a few weeks anyhow and i dont have another $6k to pay someone else to sand and prep and paint correctly. So now I'll be out $8.5k and still have to repaint the base next year im sure but the doors will be fine.... I hope. The longer I have been looking at my cabinets, the sadder I have been getting. I wish I would have just done it myself because I'm out so much money and I dont have the kitchen I wanted and STILL have to paint a large amount myself now after all. If you look at my pictures you can see the swatch of my color and the color they chose for me. I'm so disappointed and out a ton of money too. I have over 35 pics of hair and chunks in the paint, didnt post all but you get the idea . Was it fast? Yes Was it quality work? No Do I regret this whole endeavor? TOTALLY
