During that time, I managed to put 3300 miles on the bike; and on my last ride, I had two spokes break on me. I briefly thought about doing the repair myself, but I've heard truing a wheel can be a tedious process, so I decided to look up Bike Gallery. They had an opening the following Thursday, so I dropped it off one Saturday, and picked it up the next (I live 40 min. away). While it was there, I also had them do a "Deluxe Tune-Up" and replace my chain (which I had purchased, but hadn't installed). The work was completed on Thursday, as expected, and they called to let me know it was ready; and that everything went as expy. I had calculated the total based on rates listed on their website, and was pleasantly surprised to see the total bill was lower than expected. A drivetrain cleaning was part of the tune-up, so the bike looks great; and they have a 30 ride warranty, should any issues pop up with their repair work. I'm very happy with my experience, for sure.

Lakeside doesn't keep all of Giant's line in stock, but they can order them in for you. Based on reading / watching many glowing reviews for the Defy endurance bikes, I had Mark order up a 2025 Advanced 0 model for me -- comes with carbon frame, components, and wheels, as well as Shimano 105 Di2 electronic shifting drivetrain (along with 11-36t cassette for hill climbing). Mark was amazing throughout my purchase experience. He installed my pedals for me, adjusted the seat height and tire pressure, and showed me how to use the electronic shifting. After a quick test ride around the area, there seemed to be some front derailleur noise, so they made some quick adjustments to keep the chain from rubbing. I was able to take the Defy for a 20 mile ride last night, and I'm really enjoying the smooth ride of the carbon frame (coming from an aluminum frame gravel bike with road tires). I plan to bring it to Lakeside every off-season for a tune-up, and also hope to have an actual bike fit done, too. In this age of ordering everything online, I highly recommend purchasing a bike from an actual brick & mortar store with some customer service. I'm very happy with my Lakeside experience!

It's important to me to support local shops when I can. Especially something like a bike shop…read more You really don't want to rely on someone who is not an expert on bike tuning and repair. Think about it ... it's you on a couple of skinny tires against thousands of pounds of speeding metal and distracted drivers. Your bike has to be in excellent condition; one mistake with a gear or shifting and you're down. Not a good thing. It's great to have Trek Bike Shop here in Lake Oswego. I am impressed with the service everytime I go in. All the employees are exceptionally easy to work with. They are bike geeks! And experts in bicycle technology. Chris was especially helpful choosing a bike that would be a safe and easy ride for my not-a-cyclist husband. And didn't tty to upsell when he knew it wouldn't be used much. Most importantly, my Specialist racing bike needed a few repairs and a tuneup. They explained everything that needed to be done and why. I was very comfortable leaving the bike with them, knowing they were going to bring it back to excellent condition.
