I'm not sure how the ratings are so high but the ratings here definitely didn't align with my expectations today. I'll start with the good, the sushi was the best part of anyone's meal. Our appetizer was fried calamari and had it actually been meaty and palpable like normal calamari with the crunchiness and flavor of the batter it came out with it would've been phenomenal but unfortunately the calamari was so thin you couldn't differentiate between the calamari or the crispy fried breading. Two of us ordered hibachi and immediately I was disappointed because although I could tell the steak and scallops weren't spoiled there was this detestable after taste I tried to overpower with three different sauces at the table to no avail. It was like meat that had been sitting exposed in an unclean refrigerator absorbing malodors or something previously frozen improperly for a long time, not sour or rotten just very unpleasant tasting. The fried rice was fairly flavorful and the vegetables were pretty good. The steamed rice wasn't a hit with one other person at the table. The sauces were so great from the salad, to the sweet and spicy sauce with the rangoons, and the spicy mayo, the sauces were delicious. If I were to come here again I'd stick to the sushi. Anything else wouldn't be worth the money or risk of dislike in my opinion. read more

This is definitely my favorite sushi spot in Seguin. It's small, right in front of the square. Parking is easy. The sushi is always really good and my favorite sake drink is the Fiji apple. Service here is great and fast. A great place to come socialize and have a good conversation since there is usually no music and it's not a super noisy environment. read more

Hubby went to buy a boat. He's been talking about this place for months. So next trip here was to buy a jeep. . We came here for lunch. It was VERY good! Extremely fresh! Hubby got the Shaggy Dog, it was as expected. I would have liked a tad more sauce but it was delicious and so fresh!! I got the cowboy, I like spicy and I have to say the only thing spicy was the jalapeño on top. I took it off because the jalapeño flavor overwhelmed it, I preferred the wasabi. It was really good but I'm not sure it was my favorite although it was fresh and very good. It just wasn't as tuna forward as I like. Service was excellent! We were driving around downtown Seguin when we spotted this little sushi spot. I'm so glad we did. It's a seat yourself restaurant but you'd never know. We had barely sat down & Mel was right next to us handing us menus & getting our drink order. She warned us that there would be a bit of a wait for sushi bc a big order at another table (& a boat) had just been ordered. We appreciated the heads up & were fine w waiting. It was nice to not be in a hurry. She was an excellent & kind server. Definitely 5 stars for her! To start, we ordered crab Rangoons bc they are a weakness of mine. They were good but needed a little something to add more flavor. The wrapper & cream cheese was just very basic but on the bright side, they were served hot & fresh. The onion soup was tasty. The Seguin roll & the Ebi-Ebi rolls were both excellent! All of the flavors just blended together perfectly. Crab, shrimp, avocado & cream cheese..... where could you go wrong? I was a little disappointed to see that the prices on the menu weren't actually accurate. On my receipt, each item was a little bit higher than marked on the menu. It's not a huge deal to me but what if a couple of dollars difference is an issue for someone else that is dining? If I go to Macys to buy a sweater & it's marked $50 plus tax, I don't want to be charged $55 plus tax. Don't let that stop you from trying this great restaurant though. I've been to Ebi Ebi and its pretty good. The food is fresh and the rolls are innovative. I do feel some items could be better but overall its a good choice for sushi. The service was OK we where checked on once despite the restaurant only having one other customer. The restaurant is clean as well. Although it is expensive so be ready to spend a bit. read more
