So I went back today, and was pleasantly pleased that they had quite a selection of Hammitts, including the "Davis" bag that I had I seen on Hammitt's website recently that I was curious about. (It's really helpful to see handbags and purses in person so you can get a sense of the size and the feel but not many retailers sell Hammitts in this area.) This "attention" can be overwhelming at times depending upon the sales representative. If you're someone who has a crisp idea of what you want and prefer to shop in peace, you may find unwanted company. However, the passion the associates have to meet your exacting vision knows no bounds. On more than one occasion I've found myself texting/emailing with an associate regarding the most frivolous of products such as cufflinks. While many high-end fashion department stores have been unable to keep up with the change of consumer demand, it's nice to know Boyd remains a permanent fixture in the local community.

If K.M.'s review is to be believed, the employees are tired, overworked martyrs. And who knows; maybe they are. (In response to her comeback, I was in the store mid-day, not at closing. And I'm vigilant about hanging the clothes up and bringing them out of the dressing room when I'm done. You see, I'm not only a hard-core shopper, I'm also a former retail associate.) Was I greeted upon entering the store this year? NO. Did I come in around 2-2:30 on a Thursday afternoon? YES. Was the store busy? NO.
