We came here for lunch as i really want some good salad, when i search salad on yelp, this place come out. 4.5 stars, i decided to have a try! When we walked in, we are not sure about the food, but the menu looks nice, and the lady is very friendly. I ordered their angus beef salad, husband got their panini, both are really good. My salad dressing is something worth dying for, i almost want to drink it. The beef is very tender and juice. I will definitely come back if i ever come to Galveston again.

Halloween night we went to the railroad museum in which Eatcetera supplies all the food there in the little restaurant. We went for a tour and hayride and stopped to eat; we had a panini and a all beef hotdog...both delicious! Museum is cool...haven't seen it since I was a kid...lots of history. Circa 1929 I think.

Ate at Eatcetera for the first time today. It came recommended by friends. They knew what they were talking about. we were greeted by Chef Leena and were seated at a table of our choice. The menu selections had a nice variety. pictured is the marinated tofu, sun dried tomato panini. It was Epic!! the salad was delicious and I was surprised at the jasmine tea. really refreshing! Everything was reasonably priced and the ambiance was perfect! I cant wait to go again!!

Really glad we chose this place to eat before heading to our cruise! Food was so fresh and crisp! I'm always a sucker for lux bagel and it did not disappoint! Absolutely fantastic server! She was funny, attentive, and made us feel like she was welcoming us in her home! Very cute and calm ambience and was very welcoming. Will defo be back next cruise!

The great thing about this place is the combination of art and food. Set up like a coffee shop that you would find before Starbucks. The food was great. They have gluten free options as well. Kid's menu also

Was so glad to find a place in Galveston that has vegan options. They are super knowledgeable and careful with food allergies which is so rare! The food was great and the location is convenient to downtown Galveston. They have games that you can play while waiting for your food. Prices were decent and the portion sizes were good. Highly recommend! :)

I nabbed a zucchini sandwich that was delicious! They gave me a choice of chips or salad as my side. I got the salad which had a homemade dijon dressing that made me want more. After passing so many little food spots still closed after being flooded a few days ago, I was excited to find this comfortable hole in the wall sandwich shop; open. Looking forward to going back.

Roast beef sandwich with Thai peanut dressing

Why 4 stars? Because it was tasty, but the service was a bit off. --- --- --- A family trip to Galveston led to me immediately turning to Yelp to learn about the best of the area. Despite growing up in Friendswood, the last time I'd been to Galveston was definitely in the days before Yelp, so I was curious to see what was high on the list down here. It turned out, Eat Cetera definitely had the best reviews of any restaurant around, so it was one of our first stops after we got settled in! We enjoyed our meal, but were expecting a bit more, from the highest rated restaurant in Galveston. First off, there were only a couple other diners in the restaurant, but we would go prolonged periods of time being seeing our server. I ordered a black angus roast beef salad with thai peanut-chili dressing. I planned on ordering a panini, but I thought that the combination of roast beef and peanut dressing was just too interesting to pass up. It ended up being pretty "simple" in its taste, but I enjoyed it. We ordered the creme brulee cheesecake for dessert, because, um... it's creme brulee cheesecake! It was solid! If I find myself in Galveston again, I would definitely make a return visit to try out one of those Panini's. I'm going to guess we caught them on a weird day/time because the high overall rating says that service is not normally an issue here.

Roast beef sandwich with blue cheese sauce and a side order of red miso ramen
Jessica M.

Ate here for lunch while in town for work. It's quaint and welcoming, plus the food is pretty good. The menu isn't very big, but you're bound to find something in the unique list of options. I ordered the roast beef sandwich that had a blue cheese sauce on it and a side order of the soup of the day, which was red miso ramen. The flavors were fresh and comforting. The bread for my sandwich was a little too much for me to manage as it was thick and crispy. I had a hard time getting a bite with bread and all the sandwich contents. Other than that, I really enjoyed my lunch. We also got some vegan chocolate chip cookies to go. They were soft and chewy! There were several vegan and vegetarian options on the lunch menu and the dessert menu. I'll definitely be back! Ps. I only saw a paid street parking, so plan accordingly!

Smoked Turkey, bacon and white cheddar panini
Jasmine J.

Nice cool place to grab a tasty bite. I love that the menu is simple while the items are delicious. I enjoyed the smoked Turkey, bacon and white cheddar panini with a house salad. It definitely hit the spot for under $14. The location is small and not a place for great service just something quick.

Little app they brought me!

This was some of the beat service I have ever had on the island! They also had SO MANY delish vegan and vegetarian options- also tough to find on the island! My waitress was super helpful with knowing exactly what was in each option! This was so tasty and so clean! Having healthy restaurant options is so important and they accomplish it beautifully!

If you do not feel like waiting and are in a rush, this is not the place for you. Please come back when you have time to enjoy the atmosphere and the amazing food. I was telling one of the servers to please pass along my compliments to the chef and the owners. I was having a rather rough morning on our first visit. The best way I can describe the deliciousness of the food was that I went from being a little bit meh, to a strong to feeling like I was having a warm hug. I ordered the biscuits and gravy my other half ordered the berries and cream cinnamon French toast, and my little ordered the Mickey Mouse pancake with cinnamon. We came back another day and all ordered the same thing again, and it was just as amazing as the first time. The inside of the building is quite rustic. Even though you are waiting a bit for your food, there is so much to look at that time just passes by. Even in the bathroom will keep you occupied, and not just with the normal activities . The staff was amazingly friendly. On the second day, the gentleman server did not know whether the Mickey Mouse pancake should have the cinnamon bun toppings on it (you know,...because kids might start bouncing off of the ceiling), or sprinkles and whipped cream. We requested the latter and he came over and put on a tiny show for my little. The gentleman made a fun little show of putting whipped cream on Mickey and let my little decorate his own pancake. Definitely a 10/10 experience and we will be returning when we are around these parts again.

We traveled to Galveston to visit the store and restaurant firsthand. For years, we followed Ronnie Maceo's story and were saddened by his passing. She was incredibly gracious, and spending time with her made the experience even more memorable. The food was absolutely delicious, and we couldn't leave without stocking up on spices and sauces. It's amazing how much history, culture, and tradition are packed into this one place. The gumbo roux is the perfect rich, dark color, and the flavor is everything you hope for--authentic, hearty, and reminiscent of New Orleans. Concetta also shared the weekly specials, giving us even more reasons to return. Needless to say, every future trip to Galveston will include a stop at Maceo's. It didn't match the setting at all and felt disconnected from the atmosphere of the restaurant. The music selection could definitely use some improvement. (Maybe jazz, or something by definetly not pop) Service | 5/5 Our waiter, Caleb, was AMAZING! He was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout our visit. Service is the No.1 most important thing in my opinion and Caleb knocked it out the park. Food | 4/5 I ordered the braised short rib, and the meat was incredibly TENDER! While I enjoyed the texture, I do think it could have used a little more flavor. A good marinade or deeper seasoning before cooking would really help bring out the richness of the meat. Now, the grits served underneath were extremely disappointing. They were water flavored and cold. Good grits need heavy cream or half-and-half, butter, and seasoning. For a dish like this, adding cheese would help. The pairing felt like an afterthought, almost as though they were trying to find a way to use up extra grits. My recommendation: Substitute the grits for mashed potatoes and request butter on the side. I think mashed potatoes would pair much better with the short rib. I got an off menu cozy apple turn over. It would have been good but it was cold. I definitely recommend it if we ensure it's hot when it comes. They switched it out for the Crème Brûlée for me and that was good! It had such a great crunch on the top layer. Overall Experience | 4/5

After a long wait on the ferry to get over to the island, we worked up quite an appetite. Build a bridge already, TXDOT. I digress.. We were in search of a new lunch spot on the island. After polling the audience, pizza is what the fam wanted. After a little searching, we decided on Mama Teresa's Flying Pizza. Many moons ago they had a location on the Bolivar side, but I never had a chance to try it before Ike. After a small journey to find a parking spot, myself and my party of 10 strolled right in. The atmosphere walking in was pleasant and had the old pizza parlor feel to it. Luckily they had a big round table that accommodated comfortably. Greeted by a waiter with menus and a smile, we ordered our drinks and perused the menu. Lots of very yummy looking dishes. In good time our drinks arrived and appetizers were ordered. For my troops, we ordered the garlic bread with cheese for the table, a large pepperoni and black olive pizza for the wife and me; baked ziti for kiddo #1; fettuccine Alfredo, sans ham for kiddo #2; and spaghetti with garlic and oil for the kiddo's friend who joined. I didn't hear what the other family ordered. The appetizer took just a minute, but it arrived. Simple bread with simple cheese. Simple, but delicious. The basket was obliterated and went quick. The one piece I had was delicious. If you have a small family, one basket will suffice. Anything more than four people, I think you will need a second basket. Now with the bread gone, we were left to chat and enjoy each other's company. While waiting, we saw why the name for the place. One would think it was just a cheeky name for a pizza joint, but they actually throw the dough here. The folks back in the kitchen were making the dough fly. Literally. We all found it very entertaining. Our food arrived and we got to work. The pizza was delicious. The perfect balance of gooey cheese, yummy red sauce, crispy pizza, and perfectly cooked pepperoni. Kiddo #1 said her baked ziti was delicious, but would not offer up a sample. Boo! Kiddo #2 offered a taste of the fettuccine Alfredo and it was dreamy. A tad different tasting from your typical Alfredo sauce, but it was amazingly excellent. The kiddo's friend inhaled the spaghetti. I am not sure she even tasted it. We paid our bill and were on our way! I highly recommend Mama Teresa's Flying pizza. The service (considering our party of 10) was amazing, the food was excellent, and our overall experience was outstanding. The interior of the restaurant is small, but interesting. The pizza making portion of their kitchen is visible from the tables, so you can watch them as they make the pizzas. Our waiter was super friendly, and the service was excellent. We started off our meal with the fried mushroom appetizer. Usually, when you order fried mushrooms, you get an entire mushroom dipped in breading and fried. Here the mushrooms are chopped into chunks before breading and frying. It came with both marinara and ranch for dipping sauces. We loved having the smaller chunks, because if you've ever eaten fried mushrooms, you know that when you bite into them , the juice can sear your mouth. By using smaller chunks, it was much easier to eat, especially when piping hot. We were surprised that they didn't carry banana peppers as a topping for pizzas, but other than that, our pizza was fabulous! We deliberately bought a larger pizza than we needed, because we were looking for leftovers. The pizza heated up well the next day! We would highly recommend visiting Mama Teresa's!
