This is hands down one of the most beautiful Eataly I have been to. Unfortunately only came to sightsee Eataly while touring downtown Munich and I wasn't aware this place even existed coming here by accident. This is a foodies wonderland for Italian food lovers and apparently they are all over around the world! I was very impressed by the wide variety of food and probably could spend all day looking at all the items. The store itself is gigantic and has a huge wine cellar in the basement. If you have never been to an Eataly give them a try because it will for sure blow your mind. Margherita pizza just had one piece of basil - the crust was perfect chewy though. Tagliatelle con Ragu alla Bolognese Rich and heavy but quite flavorful. The noodle texture is really good. Caesar salad - it's not what you think! First, they didn't have an option for a side salad so you have to order the entree size. Next, there are two distinct dressings here - a milky, watery Caesar dressing at the bottom of the pile, and a tart, brown drizzle that goes over the thick chicken slices. Weird and doesn't really work. There's no air conditioning or fans so during hot days it can be super stuffy in here. The service is negligible and you have to bother them to get attention, asking more than once for things on multiple occasions. Overall, overrated here - skip for something more local instead. Went here a couple a weeks ago and found the place having a tourist-y vibe. Had to wait a bit to get seated and though service was good it was slow as well, considering they were very understaffed. The food was good and portions are very generous. Had the Gorgonzola salad which was delicious and tried a few bites from the pizza menu and didn't disappoint the mortadella bites were yummy, though the house pasta so, which was a very simple spaghetti pomodoro was meh. We were meeting some friends for drinks, and stumbled upon this Eataly. OMG. It was amazing. Can we have these in the United States? Food, fine wine, coffee, and groceries all in one place? Count me in. It was SO clean, their coffee options were great (and delicious), and you can get glasses or bottles of wine (or beer) downstairs. It's literally the perfect mix. If we lived here, we would probably be regulars. It's perfect to grab meat and cheese from the grocery and go grab a glass downstairs. My friend and I ate at Eately after a long day at the Nymphburg Palace. We were very hungry and Eately satisfied our needs. We ordered Hugos, which were truly delicious. Our Margarita pizza was huge and so good; the bread was incredible. We ordered a pasta dish to share which was also delicious. First night in Munich and decided to have pasta for dinner. The food was good. I ordered rigatoni carbonara & my friend ordered spaghetti with red sauce. Right from the beginning of our meal, our sever (Alexandru Pene) seemed to be annoyed with having to wait on us. He removed our water glasses when he brought our wine, only to begrudgingly bring them back when we requested water (which was 7.9€ per bottle). He didn't check back with us, we had to hand signal to get his attention for second glass of wine & finally for the check. I think this is an overpriced dining option and tonight there was definite lack of attention to our table. Do not recommend. We came to the restaurant for lunch, during our Munich visit. Been to multiple Eatalys all over Europe, UK and the US before - but this was sadly the worst service experience. Could have been the Oktoberfest effect - but we struggled to place an order and get follow on help through out the meal; the staff was impatient and rude to top off. Food wise the Diavlo and Margarita pizzas were ok. The pumpkin stuffed pasta was tasty and was the overall highlight. Often long queues for this place in the touristy Virtuellenmarkt (a minute from Marienplatz), but coming a bit earlier after an afternoon of showers certainly meant only another pair of diners in the queue ahead of us. Hygiene station at the entrance cutlery in nice paper sachets with the napkin hidden inside too - so hopefully no one gets to handle them before you. It's both a restaurant and an italian food store / deli. Seated on the terraced part we were secluded from the street by plants/hedge. The road does have bus services running along it so you know. There are also tables on the pavement too. Waiter was very friendly and as we going to order the seafood platter and the offer for 4-mini pizza for €20, he advised us to take the seafood and then see how hungry we still were. (wow). He also advised of drinks and offers that were available like that typical italian orangey citrus spirit that I can never remember the name of. The first course was enough for two but my foodie friend insisted on ordering a pizza too (no dessert), so the waiter smiled and brought the pizza sliced in half on two plates - nice touch without asking (he knows his profession for sure). and when ordering more drinks i swapped to a beer and he'd brought me the smaller size - perfect choice! There was no rush for us to leave being a Tuesday evening and it's a very relaxing atmosphere with just the right balance of service. Bathrooms are in the basement which means you have to take the elevator - the one disappointment in times of Corona - more buttons to try and avoid pressing - but there was hand sanitizer scattered about indoors. Excellent restaurant with great food. This place is filled with a number of different restaurants. I chose to try out the pizza spot. Next time I'm hoping to have some of the pasta. I went with four other friends. So the place is great for a small group. We all enjoyed our food. With my pizza, wine and two glasses of beer, I paid a total of 28 €. Not too bad for all of the additional alcohol. The price of the pizza itself was around 10 €. read more

Perhaps that was because of the difference in flavourings between the US and Germany, however, the service was pretty slow in my opinion. The dough is nice and this and has a good chew to it. The products they use are super fresh. Very yummy place! We were lured by the pizza but I ended up getting a salad because of my need for veggies. I got the Insalata Misticanza (sp?) & my husband got the Diavola pizza...and he ate it all! Actually...I did, too!! My salad came with smoked salmon, sliced carrots, radicchio, cherry tomatoes & avocado. However, the avocado isn't quite as ripe as us Americans are used to but I like it that way & will have to try it again when I get home. It is on the firmer side of ripe. His pizza had pepperoni, one leaf of Basil and mozzarella. The pepperoni was supposed to be spicy but it wasn't. Still great though. My favorite thing about Eataly is that the staff speaks Italian! I don't speak German but I do speak some Italian, so it was fun to be able to interact (they also some English, as well.) This review is only for the gelato bar - 5 stars! This was the best gelato we had in Munich, possibly during our whole trip to Europe. The pistachio flavor was incredibly good, it tasted just like fresh pistachios and cream. I also really enjoyed the marscapone flavor with figs in it. Yes, we went here twice because it was so good! The service was prompt and courteous, and the wait staff spoke English. Eataly in Munich was my first experience with the franchise. During my two-week stay in Germany, I found myself there twice! Once for pasta and once for pizza. The way Eataly is set up, you can dine in different areas to enjoy different Italian foods. My pizza was phenomenal - who knew I could eat Italian like this in Germany! The pasta - which was a Cacio e Pepe dish - was delicious. Both times, I had wine with my meals, which was excellent and very well-priced. The portions are extremely generous and will leave you very full. Outside of these dining areas, the entire experience of Eataly in Munich makes you feel like you're in Italy. All of the stations have something different to offer, keeping you in there for hours at a time. Not to mention, the wine selection downstairs is incredible. Highly recommend! read more

I drove all the way across town because I was told I HAD to try this place. Was looking forward to it. After sitting there for 20 minutes without someone coming to take my order, a couple sat down at the end of my table, the waiter came and took their order, and walked away. Another couple sat down at a table by me, the waitress came and took their order then walked away. Looking at me as they walked away every time. I still waited. The waitress brought all of their drinks then walked away, once again, making eye contact with me. The couple at the table next to mine kept making comments about them not serving me. Eataly consists of a widespread market place with a great variety of products originated from erhm Italy and a couple of restaurants (Italian, of course). Marketplace: the list of products include some rare finds, freshly cut parmigiana, meat, olive oils and wines all in high(er) prices and some stuff that you can, also, find in any Rewe/ Tengelman/ Edeka on raised prices which is a bit ridiculous if I may say. Restaurants: apparently there are a few restaurants in Eataly. We tried the one that has tables outside on the patio and after tasting 3 different pizzas and a pasta dish the only word that comes to mind to describe all of them is "blunt". read more
