This place was ok. The best part was the bread. You don't a big portion & the main entrees are no frills so consider getting an appetizer of one of the dips. Service is very European in that they'll get to u when they get to u. Lol. It was slightly unnerving cause we were in a hurry & thought we'd dash in & out. But no dashing here folks. Even the ppl picking up food to do, had to spend some time waiting. Cleanliness was average and u share some of the table condiments with neighboring tables. Makes for a communal experience. This place had a 4 1/2 star rating, but it didn't live up to the hype. It was very authentic cuisine. You could tell immediately from their clientele. The only thing that would have made it more legit was if they served their food tapas style. I ordered the hummus with the bread (I can't remember what they call it), but it was a chewier version of pita bread. The hummus was alright as well, nothing extraordinary. It wasn't bad by any means, but it tastes exactly how you'd expect a typical hummus would. I had the Chicken kebab platter. This was very good. They serve the chicken with a side of onions, tomato, and cucumber. All which complimented the chicken very well. The skewers were massive haha. They barely balanced on the serving plate. Together, the bread & hummus along with the platter was quite a lot of food. They give you so much bread so if you're still hungry you can get full off that. Lastly, when I asked for the bill, they brought me a complimentary tea. At first I thought the server simply misheard me and was going to charge me for it, but they did not. You must go here. The lavash is light and tasty and you get plenty. The tea is wonderful. The hummus and cacik are right on. And the meats are delicious and perfectly grilled. I asked for shish tawook (chicken) and subbed a kofte to try one of each. All of this food was 15 Euro. This is my new favorite restaurant in Munich. Make sure to ask for the sumac and chile spices to add to your hummus and meat. read more

I came here with my uncle and brother to eat and honestly it was really good. I miss eating food in germany because it tasted homemade. The chicken kabobs were juicy and well done and service was good. If we come back to visit, we'll come back forsure. read more

Well, to be quite honest with you, when we arrived at our first hotel, Best Western Cristal, I was a bit taken by the neighborhood. I noticed all the Turkish businesses and restaurants and didn't realize that Germany has a large Turkish population. After almost tow weeks traveling around CZ, Hungary, Austria and Germany, I was sooooo looking forward to Middle Eastern Food! This restaurant caught our eye as we walked by it several times so we stopped in our last night in München. We tried to communicate as well as we could as they do not have an English menu. We ordered a luleh kebob and lamb kebob. You can order one kebob or two. My wife ordered just one luleh and I ordered 2 lamb, I'm glad I did! The lamb was grilled nicely and was really not gamey at all. The meal came with a yogurt sauce, cucumbers, pickled vegetables and onions. We also got some ginormous pita breads. We were offered apple tea after the meal and I couldn't have been more happy! If you are tired of the heavy German diet, stop in this neighborhood and you'll feel that you are in a total different world! read more

Oh what a lovely place!! I had just one skewer of lamb kebabs & it was a looong skewer so a lot of meat! And for just €6! Filling, delicious, and very affordable! The bread was possibly the best bread I've ever had, and it comes with the meal. Also complimentary tea if you ask for some. I'm def going back and ordering the liver this time. It seemed very popular but I didn't have enough cash for it on me (they don't accept credit/debit cards). Servers are very busy, as the place is extremely busy, so expect to get hardly any attention. This was near our hotel and the bread smelled wonderful! We found a seat and were offered English menus. The hummus is great and the bread was warm and delicious! My husband and I each ordered kabobs but perhaps think of sharing or ordering half. Big portions and you want to eat all of it but cannot possibly for anymore in your belly! The owner was very friendly and seems to know everyone in his restaurant. He asked us where we were from and gave us a hug after dinner. I tried all different types of kebabs, lamb, chicken and minced meet. The best of the three was chicken which could have been a bit more tender. The minced meet kebab was soft and a bit watery inside which did not look properly cooked to me. I addressed my concerns to the waiter but he just said that this would be their style. The bread was not warmed up and they kept the entrance door always open which forced us to keep our jackets on. read more

Great hole in the wall place where the natives enjoy yummy and authentic middle eastern food. It is packed, but the fresh bread alone was worth it on a snowy day. We could not finish all the fresh bread and I was tempted to stuff it into my coat pockets to go....didn't. Highly recommend! read more

This is an excellent place. Simple food that tastes great. Not too pricey and you get a lot of food. Both the grilled kebab and chicken and the okra in sauce and the lamb in a light broth were excellent. The bread was delightful. English speaking people be ware. After traveling in Europe for 20 days and meeting nice people and nice culture we did not expect racism towards us in the heart of Munich. I was with my wife and two kids, walked in and were pointed to a table. We sat and our server immediately greeted us with menus. After a long day of travel in a foreign land I smiled and said something like "I can't wait it looks so good". The server immediately turned around and left. He went to the kitchen were he was clearly unhappy about something... the rest of the night he refused to serve us and would not make eye contact. We were never given a menu and after about 15 minutes of sitting unattended I went and got one from the stack I saw our previous server set them. I could go on with lots of specifics but I don't want to waste time on this. We were ignored all night long and eventually served by a different man who seemed like he drew the short stick (I think just to get us out). They never took a drink order. They were extremely engaging to every Middle Eastern customer. At the end I stood by the cash register to pay because it was clear they would not interact with us. Our server walked by me and looked me in the eye 3 times and just ignored my attempts to get his attention. The third time he stood right next to me looking out the door as if there was nothing to do... I stepped in front of him and took money out of my wallet. He said in perfect English "oh you ready to pay the bill. " I said "yes." He said "No English" and walked away and began talking happily with another customer. I then tried my best to ask in German and he came back to the register, was about to open it and then just randomly went and started talking to another person! In the end I payed the bill and even gave a generous tip because I will not conform to what ever stereotype they had of us. We went to this place after seeing the reviews on Yelp! and because it was only about 600m from our hotel. It's great: delicious food, good and friendly service, popular and vibrant. We had tzaziki with some skewers of chicken and kebab which came with a good selection of tasty salad. It doesn't have a licence so we just had water to go with it. Unlike the experience of another reviewer, they asked if we want tea and didn't charge for it. The whole thing was 25 Euros including a 2.50 tip. The only reason I've given it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it had a slightly seedy air to it. It is in a slightly dodgy area near the main station and there seemed to be a lot of very heavily built men with copious tattoos and beards eating there. This didn't worry me (I am sure they are all charming chaps when you get to know them), but my wife found it rather disconcerting and I doubt if she would have gone there on her own - but she, like me, very much enjoyed eating there. read more
