Eat Spice's main clientele is Indian truck drivers, so you know they are on point with the spicy comfort food. I've tried pretty much everything on the vegetarian menu and have yet to be disappointed. The samosas are some of the best I've ever had: a nice, crispy, biscuit-y shell, with a well-balanced spicy filling inside. The folks who run the shop are always friendly and helpful. Large portions of food at reasonable prices. They make killer samosas & mint chutney. Good for takeout. You can call ahead and place the order or order from the store. They get the food ready in ~ 25 minutes. Not sure if they offer delivery. Tried biryani, butter chicken, tandoori, samosas & mango lassi and all of them tasted good. Curries come with a choice of roti or rice. Place located off the highway and has decent parking spots. Since this is a truck stop, be careful while entering/exiting the place. read more

My family eats a lot of Indian food among other international dishes. Living in the DC area we have quite a bit to choose from. We had enough fried food and French fries on our vacation here and needed something real. We found this place here in Yelp and decided to give it a try. The gas station is permanently closed so pulling up to it I was a little nervous! Fortunately they have a neon sign that says open! It was a little late in the day and I was starving. Walked in and smelled the delicious aroma of Indian food! I ordered Goat biryani, chicken tikka masala, samosas, roti, naan, and rice. (Did I say I was starving?) it was about 20 minutes of a wait. The food was delicious.. so much so that we are tempted to order more on our way back home. My son loved it too. It's spicy in a good way. I got some medium and some hot. I highly recommend this place. I didn't see any issues with cleanliness.. there was someone cleaning as I was there and it looked very clean to me. The folks running the place were very nice. If you like Indian you should try it. The prices were within range of what I'm used to. About 15-18 dollars per order but it fed us for two days. They don't do American fare anymore (per an old post) which is probably a good thing. Focus on the good stuff. This will be our new regular spot when we come here. read more

I agree with everyone that this is indeed a nice surprise. There's not a whole lot going on in this town food-wise so any unique eateries was much appreciated. We came in and knew that the food was going to be good by the way it smelled and the other customers were chowing down. We ordered the goat curry, chicken tikka masala and an order of garlic naan. I will say that it seems like most people order the chicken biryani and it did look really tasty. Also, it does take a minute for everything to be prepared so you know it's fresh. The garlic naan didn't do much for me but both entrees were pretty tasty. I can't say it was the best Indian food I've had but it was definitely worth getting. Although we asked for super spicy and didn't receive it, I appreciated the flavors enough to re-visit if I'm ever in town again. read more

Just moved here from out west where variety in cuisine is much more abundant. We passed this place the day we moved here and joked about trying it out (due to the gas station location). Well, we've been here two months now and desperate to find anything other than cheesesteak or pizza, we decided to give this place a try. Such an unexpected find. It's in a gas station and it looked a bit unwelcoming but we are brave! The food was some of the best Indian we've ever had. We got the lamb biriyani, sag paneer and the chicken curry. We ordered the curry spicy and it was just right. The other two dishes were medium but we enjoyed the added spice on the curry. We also tried the samosa and they were excellent. The service was friendly and helpful. We dined in but saw lots of carry outs. The ambiance borrowed from a tired service station empty convenience store aesthetic. Don't be afraid. Go and try it. So much better than a chain restaurant. read more

I wasn't really a fan of this place...I got the goat curry spicy...Price for this has gone up to $14.99...it was spicy, however, the gost itself was not the best...it was not tender and had a lot of fat and bones in it...I tossed most of it out as it was inedible to me....The flavor of the curry didn't impress me either.. ..They didn't have garlic naan tonight only regular nann which I got, and that was fresh and decent...I also tried the rasmalai dessert for the first time ever and I wasn't a big fan...To me it had a spoiled taste....they also have a convenience store and I also got a 16oz milk and a small bag of Wasabi peas....All of this came to $26 ! Not expected middle of nowhere, but solid Indian takout. Had the Samosas, Chicken Tikka Birriyani & Garlic Naan. The main dish will last me 3 nights & the Naan for 2. It is a former gas station (gas station closed). Cash only so have it or it will cost you $3 at the ATM. Suggest a good lager really complements Indian food, and beer isn't my first choice. Something to specialized won't work, had a Yuengling lager. perfect. (sold across the street). About 20 minutes PS I asked for spicy and it was not TOO spicy, can't say if I had ordered a marsala if that would be the case. read more

Patient and pleasant family. We ordered the channa masala with rice, tilapia curry with rice and garlic naan bread. Everything was scrumptious!! The spices created a fiesta with every bite. I'm pretty adventurous when it comes to food and when I saw that this Indian restaurant was in a gas station convenience store, I knew I had to try it. the facility itself is relatively clean. The service was fantastic. I ordered saag paneer and my husband had chicken tiki masala. Both were very generous portions and came with white rice. We also ordered 2 naans. The food was made to order. Mine was very flavorful with a perfect blend of spices. I he chicken tiki masala was so buttery, I couldn't help myself by dipping the naan into the sauce. Overall, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised but this unassuming place. I would recommend checking it out it you are in the area. read more

I ordered the chicken burrani. I love the fact that I had the option to choose my spice level! I chose extra spicy, and it was indeed extra spicy (coming from someone who absolutely loves food so hot their mouth is on fire). My only complaint was I thought $18 for the meal was high, but the flavors were good and I thoroughly enjoyed the extra spiciness! This GEM is inside the Sunoco Truck Stop at exit 274 from I-80 in White Haven, Pennsylvania. I saw the sign out front and knew we were getting dinner. I ordered a lamb gyro, the chicken curry, and 4 samosas. All three were EXCELLENT. And the food was ready right after we had filled the gas tank. We enjoyed the chicken biryani & chicken kababs. Both were ordered mild. The biryani was the best we have ever had! While we were waiting for our take out order, 4 other separate customers also ordered it! The kababs were very good, but even at mild were our maximum in spice heat. Fine Indian cuisine meets truck stop. The food was really good but it's a truck stop so don't expect a fine dining experience. Served in takeout containers even when dining in. The Indian food was on point. My wife had the chicken curry and I had the goat curry. We found out that the entrees really serve 2 people so it was good that it was served in takeout containers. The curry comes with rice but for $2.50 you can get roti as well (we call the flat bread chapati). The Somoza were also tasty. Plenty of other choices we did not try including American food for the less adventurous. The staff was friendly and food was served fresh to order but the wait was only about 10 minutes. You can pick your spice level mild, medium, and spicy. We picked mild and medium neither of which were over poweringly spicy. read more

Very glad I stuck around! I ordered a butter chicken and lamb curry. I asked for both to be spicy. Enough heat to need a sip of water but not enough to burn my mouth out. Perfect. This place needs more love (and reviews). We stopped here after a white water rafting trip and it hit all of the spots. Solid food that rivals many of the indian food places in center city philadelphia. The tandoori chicken was delicious, as was the goat Biryani. The Tikka masala curry was also excellent. The worst indian food I have ever had. Flavorless, greasy, no spices whatsoever. I asked for pickles and got chickpeas. I asked for spicy and got 1 alarm at best. The roti was worse than a burnt tortilla. Got to the grocery store and get frozen food indian. It's better. This is the best restaurant in a gas station I've ever eaten at. It offers a wide variety of dishes, prepared to order, hot & very tasty. It has a seating area, but it's in a gas station so don't expect anything fancy. The plates are styrofoam, the utensils plastic, and most of the drink options are purchased from the cooler along the wall, but if you're okay with that then do not miss this gem! read more

Driving across PA on 80 and wanted something different than fast food. Lucked in to this little place. It's inside the Sunoco gas station right off the interstate at the White Haven exit. Had samosas and lamb biryani. Both were nicely spiced and very tasty. The biryani was plenty for two of us. They also have sub sandwiches if not everyone in your group wants Indian. There's a reasonable space with tables and chairs to eat in. Definitely a good option for a quick bite that offers more variety. read more
