Me and my mom
Charlene C.

I was fortunate to receive two VIP tickets for the EAT Show (VIP tickets are $90 and General Admission is $50). The biggest perk was probably that VIP admission gets you in a whole hour earlier than General Admission. My husband was supposed to accompany me, but he had to go in to work so I took my mom instead! I picked her up and we arrived a few minutes before 11AM. Parking was $20. After checking in, receiving our wrist bands and getting our map/check off list, we were up to the 2nd Floor. From the photos I posted, we practically had the whole place to ourselves. Since we were the first bunch, I was afraid that some of the vendors would still be setting up and not ready, but they were! A security guard would mark off each station on your card prior to entering. You are only allowed try each station once. The whole set up was very organized. There were tons of restaurants there that I've heard of, but never got a chance to try yet. I moved out to the Inland Empire and don't really hang out in the L.A. area anymore so this was the perfect opportunity. Overall, there were hits and misses, but both of us had a really good time. We skipped two stations because we were so full and had to move on to dessert. The lines were short for the most part (2-4 people in line ahead of us), but once 12:20-12:40 rolled around it did start to get crowded to the point that we could not find a seat at one of the many tables. We were out of there just before 1:00PM so a 2 hour experience. My mom's favorite was probably Fogo de Chao (beef & sausage), Helados Pop Ice Cream, and the signature Mille Crepes from Lady M, so yum! My mom said she had a really good time, that's all that counts! LOL. 108/100 Reviews for 2016

Woo-hoo! I was able to score 2 VIP tickets for this event (thanks Katie B!) and of course, I was super stoked because of the list of vendors. The EAT show is pretty much an tasting event, where you can try samples of so many delicious food and drinks! First off, this place was indoors thank goodness! Otherwise, we all would have been sweating outside in the hot LA weather. But anyways, the check-in process was really quick and easy. VIP guests get to arrive an hour early (11am...I came for the lunch session) and you get some free snacks/drinks as you wait for the doors to open. Your "ticket" is pretty much a stamp card that is fashioned to the Monopoly Game. Pass Go and eat eat eat! Too bad you can't come back for seconds, as they "stamp" you off for every vendor section that you visit. I was pretty bummed that Raindrop Cakes backed out at the last minute. I was really excited to try those cakes, but anyways - that didn't ruin the event though. I was very pleased with the list of vendors (Fogo de Chao, Jeni Splendid, Dino's, Street Churros, Nitro Pop, etc). The people there were friendly, and of course - open bar!!! Overall, the execution was great by the organizers of this event. I didn't have much complaints, though I kind of wish there were more trash cans available for the place because you're pretty much eating on the go if you're waiting in the long lines. My experience here was pretty awesome. Got to taste amazing food and went home with a Yelp tote bag and VIP swag bag! Parking was super easy. It was $20 for all day parking. Cash and credit cards accepted.

Gained 10lbs after this. #worthit

Fogo de chao, roscoes chicken and waffles, AND halal guys along with 50+ amazing restaurants under the same roof?!?! ONLY AT THE FOOD SHOW. Seriously one of the best foodie events that's ever existed. I only have good things to say about this event because it was pulled off extremely well. It was extremely organized. You were given a card right when you entered in the venue and given instructions on how the restaurants are grouped up in sections and as you enter each section the guard marks off the card so you don't re-enter. The fact that the restaurants were grouped up was genius. It gave smaller restaurants a standing chance to get recognized among the bigger, well known restaurants and in the end isn't that what this event is all about?! ... Exploring and trying new things! In addition there was an awesome variety of restaurants. There were really no "filler" restaurants. Every vendor that attended had a lot to offer and I would definitely consider visiting their brick and mortar. The food was all delicious. The portions were perfect for tastings. There was bottomless drinks too! Some suggestions for next time would be to hired custodians to throw away the leftover plates on the tables during the event so there's more places to sit. Also, including a raffle for gift cards from the vendor attendees. Overall I was impressed! I'm excited for next years eat show!

50 bucks for unlimited booze and access to over 40 restaurants from LA? HELL YEAH! Wait was short, food was delicious what can I say? Eat Show is amazing!

First time attending The Eat Show this year and I loved it! There were so many options and the event was expertly set up. I've worked my fair share of events, including food events, so that's definitely a kudos to them. The way they set up queues with stanchions to guide lines and create an even flow of traffic was the best way to keep the crowd in order, especially when they were all waiting for a popular vendor. There were a variety of food and drink options, varying from street food to casual dining restaurants. There was also an open bar, which was great because the Mr. Bartender cocktails were superb. The only critique I have is that attendees are given maps with all the sectioned vendors on it. Each area visited was marked off and the area could not be re-entered. I understand that all samples are being portioned so everyone has a bite, but other food events let you have multiple samples of the same item. It's not a big deal but maybe something to be considered. All in all, great event, food, and drinks.

Eat Show 2017 Saturday, May 13, 2017 Location: The Reef, Los Angeles, CA. It was organized and well thought out. They used a large venue where they had the vendors along the walls and all of the seating area in the middle. The bathrooms were easy to locate, plenty of staff and security walking around to make sure people were enjoying themselves. The food and drinks that I tried were delicious and the rest look just as delectable. I'm looking forward to their future events. I felt like a fat kid at a candy store! Oh my goodness, it was food and alcohol galore! Honestly, it couldn't get any better... LA's Best Restaurants serving these delicious and well presented plates! It's like Sunday's at Costco with free samples, but 50 times better! AND, did I mention open bar?! Would definitely recommend this event to my friends. Staff was friendly and the event was organized. We didn't have issues finding a table or seat to eat and take tons of foodie pictures either.

"This might be one of the most LA things I've ever done!" exclaimed my friend as we surveyed the second floor of the Reef, the site of an event billed as a "food Coachella." His sentiments were, of course, understandable. Where else would people pay to sample bite-sized pieces of bluefin tuna from Hamasaku, indulge in milles crepes from Lady M, or try an IPA from Angel City Brewery all in one place? EAT Show was an unexpected surprise, an enjoyable way to spend an evening with good company over good food. Although I was initially skeptical of EAT Show having heard horrific stories about Taste of Night Market, this event succeeded on a number of levels: I enjoyed the short wait times (0-5 minutes) at each station; I liked the variety of available food and drink; and I appreciated the helpful and professional staff. In addition to a number of drink stations, EAT Show featured 12 food stations with 4 vendors at each station. Portion sizes varied according to each vendor, but there were enough items to ensure that we left feeling full. If you're able to sample everything, then the price of admission - $60 - is definitely worth it. The highlights of the evening for me were the tangerine ceviche from Otium, the candied bacon from Pig Pen Delicacy, and the roast chicken and fries from Dino's Chicken & Burger. Yum! TIPS / RECS: + As much as I enjoyed EAT Show, I probably wouldn't recommend it to vegetarians or vegans since the majority of items featured meat or fish. (One of the chefs even had a shirt that proclaimed his hatred for vegans.) Had my vegetarian friend been able to attend, she would have likely been relegated to desserts. Despite my dairy allergy, I was able to sample at least 50% of the available options. + Rather than going through each station in a clockwise manner, prioritize what you want to eat. My friend and I skipped around to ensure that we could properly enjoy the food we were most interested in. + I'd recommend bringing a small bag to stow your freebies; you can't carry around three boxes of Japanese pretzels AND balance four little plates of food in the tiny tray provided by the organizers. + Parking at the Reef was $20, but there was metered street parking when my friend and I arrived at 5PM. By the time we left, however, all the spaces had been taken. Definitely try to find street parking before paying for parking! Shoutout to Julienne D. and the Yelp team for hooking me up with tickets to the event! Thanks for making my day!

Wow, I can't say anything negative about this event because it's honestly the most organized and cleverly curated food feats that I've ever been to. Normally there are long lines at popular food carts and the other barely get love. Here, the food carts are mixed and put into groups of 4-5 and you check in to each station and visit all at once. You get your food and you sit in a large dining hall set up to enjoy your food. Then you go back for more! There were 12 stations and wow so much good good! The restaurant's definitely brought their A game. This was open bar too and 21+... I can honestly say that I'll put my confidence in any future food events put on my ktownightmarket. Oh! My favorites were the Halal Guys, Komodo, Dino's Chicken, Roscoes Chicken and Waffles, Mama Musubi, Fogo de Chao, Dirt Dog, and Aroha (New Zealand)! All in all, highly recommend this event, I hope there is one next year!

That Roscoes plate. Yessssss.

Great event! Extremely organized and staff had great energy. The highlights were: 1. Lines went by relatively fast. 2. Some vendors really brought their A game (thank you Roscoes for that platter of fried chicken, waffle, corn bread and mac n' cheese). 3. Unlimited drinks had your girl feeling good. The bar area wasn't too crowded either. 4. Free stuff/swag Lowlights: 1. Wish we had more time to try all the food! 2. A few vendors didn't show up that I wanted to try (Raindrop Cake was one for example). Though I didn't have enough time to try all the food, my belly was more than satisfied. Definitely plan on coming again next year. Thank you, Eat Show!

Sample size plates. Plus a whole can of Bai drink.

I waited months for this event. And it was definitely worth it! For $50, I ate so much food and was stuffed by the time I finished just half of the vendors. Parking was simple and easy. The event itself is really organized. The only thing I think would be better and helpful is if the signs for each vendors were a bit bigger. But overall, great event. Also, I had some problems with ticketing and such prior to the event so I had to email the event organizers to figure it all out. I got a respond back pretty fast and they were really nice and helpful in assisting me. Definitely a plus!

Come with an empty stomach and you need to pace yourself! The Eat Show is a giant foodie event at The Reef in DTLA hosted by KTown Night Market. Tickets are $60 per person (I believe it's $50 if you purchase before a certain date. There was also a Yelp promo code!) The check-in process was speedy. You have the option of printing your tickets or showing them on your phone. They hand you a card on a lanyard that lists all of the vendors and what "block" they are located in. Head up to the 2nd floor, get your IDs checked (21+ only), get your tray (don't throw it away until you're done eating, it's only 1 per person), and get a few freebies (btw, eat your Pretz quickly, it's almost expired). Once you're done with all of that, get eating! Each block is separated by stanchions and a security guard. The security guard checks off your card for their specific block. You can only go to each vendor once. If you're there early, make sure to check that every single vendor in that block is ready with food. We didn't get to try Seoul Sausage because of that. There are a total of 12 blocks with 4 vendors each, so pace yourself. It took us 3 and a half hours to go through 10 of them. I appreciate that they limit the tickets each sessions so you don't have to wait long. The wait for the elevators seemed longer than the wait for the food! Grab an Uber or Lyft if you're planning on drinking, plus parking is the LA usual of $20. I was expecting a lot considering the ticket is $60. Food was great, but some were more memorable than others. My favorites were Helados, Pig Pen Delicacy, and Tiki Fish. A lot of the restaurants went the crudo way (think Top Chef when a competitor tries to play it safe), which is completely understandable when you're serving hundreds of portions. However, some restaurants went all out, like Dino's where they gave you an entire chicken leg and a handful of fries. I don't think the card was updated though. There were a few vendors that were not there or they were place in a different block.

Finally trying street churros

Most of the installations were nowhere near to completed the night before!! Not tempted enough to return for the actual party. Parking: Private lot attached $5 after 4pm. Pay at the machine before you get in your car to leave.

Gaaaah, why did I not hear about this sooner? I would have bought tickets to see the entire thing…read morewhen it was completed. There are still tickets left. So trust me and do yourselves a favor and come to this. From what we are able to see, its already shaping out to be amazing. This event is done by the same people that do 'brokechella'. They make these events awesome and minimal amount of funds. As a yelp elite member, we got to tour of the place plus seeing the artists set up and walk through. A sneak peek, if you call it. Too bad I have existing plans. :( sadness. I can't imagine 1000 ppl being in this space tho.
