Situated in Spinningfields, near more established (but if I can be so bold) less exciting competition such as Pret a Manger, Mumma is taking the specialisation route to greatness by offing a limited choice, but doing it really well. There are only really two choices, and one side; Chicken Burger, Halloumi Burger and Triple Fried fries. I can't comment on the veggie option, being a life long carnivore and all, but the chicken is brilliant! A thin, crispy panko style coating, sweet brioche bun, tangy mayo and crunchy lettuce make this to die for. The chicken comes from the thigh rather than breast, so you get a much juicier eating experience. The fries are awesome - I know that frying something three times must be disastrous for your health, but you have to try them... They do weekly specials (all on the chicken burger theme) to mix things up, and a meal deal for the burger, fries and a canned drink. Mmmmm. It's not a cheap burger, but it doesn't taste like one - if you want that, maybe head on over to KFC; if you're looking for a bit of a treat, this is the place for you.

The summer equivalent of Friday Food Fight, which brought Manchester something totally different that it hadn't seen before, moved location from Upper Campfield market to Brownsfield Mill on Tariff St in Manchester's trendy Northern Quarter. Held every Friday night 5pm-midnight and Saturdays 2pm-midnight with free entry, it was a collaboration of Eats, Beats and Booze with local restaurants and street food heroes teaming up to show everything they had to offer. Over the summer I have attended Up in Your Grill maybe 5 or 6 times out of the 10 weeks and with the 3 or 4 vendors who attended changing each week, every time felt like a different eating experience - and for the popular ones who did return, they varied their eats on offer . A large indoor space lended itself well to the unpredictable Manchester weather on 2 of these occasions and the bar area, also inside, had much more space and had lots more on offer than at FFF. The music has also been excellent - with the DJs banging out some great summer anthems from the DJ booth. I managed to try a lot of the vendors that attended Up in Your Grill with SoLita, Viet Shack, The Hip Hop Chip Shop and Mash Up MCR being amongst my favourites. All in all, I haven't been able to fault Up In Your Grill - and my raving about it even had a friend in London desperate to come to Manchester just to try it! For most Manchester foodies this has been a place to visit often this summer, and with the newest concept '#BeatStreetTruckMeet' rumoured to start in early October I'm sure the guys from Beat Street won't disappoint.

The summer incarnation of Beat Street Manchester's #FridayFoodFight, Up in Your Grill is being held…read moreevery Friday and Saturday at Brownsfield Mill, just by Go Outdoors and Aldi on the edge of the Northern Quarter. Entry is free before 7pm, then £3 afterwards. The space itself is clever; the Mill is, as you would expect, huge. The largest room inside is left empty, we presume for emergency seating/standing if the Manchester weather stays true to form. Last night though was beautiful, so we could make the most of the outside area and last hours of the sunny weather we've been having. You'll only find 4/5 vendors at these events, and they all serve from the same area - a large shipping container-esque contraption, with the djs sat aloft of this, accessing their decks via a ladder I personally wouldn't trust. Last night saw Mash Up, Honest Crust, Viet Shack, the Hip Hop Chippy, Nkona and Diamond Dogs serving up their meals. We only had space for one due to some poorly timed meals earlier in the day, and it just had to be the Hip Hop Chippy. We went for their special and some onion blings, as they'd always run out by the time we visited at #FridayFoodFight. Deep fried potato scallops, chunks of ham, crispy shallots and mushy peas - wow. Heart attack waiting to happen, but at least you'd go happy. Bar service was much smoother than previous events, with beer, cider, and a great selection of cocktails flying out. I had the bourbon based Hilly Billy Smash and a gin based Starburst Collins, both of which were nicely mixed, fruity but just alcoholic enough! It's dog and child friendly, so there's a nice atmosphere - everyone's there to eat some great food and enjoy their weekend.

I tried the rum punch and the mai tai both were very good and were quite strong so was worth the £7 I paid for each of them. The bus is a vintage one and there is seating inside as well as a few tables and chairs outside. It was a very warm night so they could have done with some more outside seating especially when a large group of about 15 arrived. However the Rum Bus is a novel idea and definitely worth a visit if you're passing by.

A good stop on your way for grub at Almost Famous, Revolucion De Cuba or Lucha Libre - especially if the sun is shining!

This place serves up street food, drinks and beats (boom boom) Great for a balmy summer evening :) I love that they have covered seating areas in case it rains/for those that can't take the sun. I went for the jerk chicken with rice and peas from 'Jerk', £7 for a very decent sized portion. It wasn't the best chicken ever but the gravy that came with definitely upped the flavour and made the meal delicious. Rice and peas were nicely done, I just wish they did dumplings. My friend got a bagel plus fries and was very happy with her meal, the portion of fries were enough for two to share. Fun summer addition to Manchester's food scene.

You've got plenty of food options, though I was too full from my swine fries (cheers Bangers and Bacon) to really enjoy some more grub, and you've also got some cool drink options. I had a couple of pints of the Pilsner at Kozel LoKal and it went down a treat! Get yourself a spot on the deck chairs on a sunny evening and you'll find yourself not wanting to leave! Great option of quality street food and an overall top place to chill out!

It is one of my favourite places to get food in Middleton town centre, although I do have some minor issues with food quality/temperature, the majority of times I order from here I am impressed with my food, the new box which they package the potatoes in is much stronger and better too, this means they travel much better now in delivery orders, which are becoming increasingly common in wake of the pandemic and UK government lockdown. The staff are happy to take extra care with my order due to my dietary requirements, my regular order is a tuna and cheese jacket potato with the tuna on first, I like how they make sure they listen to my comments (Many places ignore these) to make the potato how I like it, most importantly putting the tuna on first as I hate when the cheese melts onto the potato. The prices are competitive, especially considering Uber Eats is generally expensive due to the number of fees they charge but do try to get down to the van if you can, you will save money on Uber's fees but the delivery is fast and convenient. 4* - Good quality potatoes, I have noticed they sometimes don't taste as good if you order after 1:45 pm, but this is often the case at many similar establishments, and it's just good they still have some potatoes left going into the afternoon.

I also do not associate them at all with dinner so I really did not know what to expect at the Bagel Shop. What you get is a really tempting menu with bagels that are substantial meals, especially when paired with the topped fries (this will take you over £10 though, so if you're short of cash pop in on Mon/Tues for their awesome 50% deal). I had the - bestseller - grill melt and it seems like they are totally fine with you asking for something to be left out, so I skipped the pickle. The salt beef is just fantastic and the whole thing (involving cheese, jalapenos, rocket and house sauce and mustard) came together absolutely beautifully - decadent with a great kick. All the fries were nice but I think my fave was the eat new york fries - with blue cheese sauce. The angel fries, with truffle, are also really nice but not an obvious combo with the more classic meaty American fare - perhaps good with some of the fish/seafood dishes. I'm really looking forward to coming back, perhaps to try more on the menu but tbh I just want a repeat of what I ate last time. Btw the desserts are massive and decadent - I had a deep fried blueberry pie which I denied having the capacity to eat then completely demolished. The sundaes looked great too. I had a pint of the house lager which was fine, and a Reuben bagel which was incredible. Much less handle-able than other bagels ordered by my dining companions ie the grill melt, due to the sheer amount of pastrami. The amount of meat that fell out while I was eating it could have filled a whole other bagel. It was really delicious, though I've already set my sights on the Little Italy bagel for my next trip. I must have breaded mozzarella and gorgonzola mayo. The bagel ganoush also looks excellent with both tempura aubergine and baba ganoush. I reckon this place isn't super vegan friendly simply because of the amount of meat on offer, but if you're vegan and end up here anyway, it's great that there's a (really delicious sounding) option! Between 5 of us we shared all four kinds of fries and some frickles (deep fried pickles). One million more frickles please. All the fries were good, and I'd probably agree with Natalie W that the Eat New York fries were top banana. I wanted deep fried apple pie but as they were out of apple, I had to have deep fried cherry pie instead. What an awful shame. I mean really. This was an absolute brick of decadent food and I could already feel the faintly queasy regretful feeling of over indulgence setting in while eating it... But I couldn't stop. And as soon as I woke up the next morning I was craving more deep fried pie. Uh oh. Really couldn't fault anything about this place, I'd highly recommend and I'll certainly return!
