Café Bridges sells a good range of lunchtime food including sandwiches, baked potatoes, pasties, salads etc. The food is always fresh and tasty and they do some lovely combinations of sandwich fillings. Although it's popular and there are often queues, service tends to be quick and is always friendly. The prices are a little on the high side but it's worth it for food that is of a higher quality and fresher than many prepacked sandwiches you may find elsewhere.

The bakery…read moreon St James Street in Burnley sells a decent range of pasties and the most delicious cakes as well as a soup of the day and sandwiches etc. It's not the healthiest of places to stop by but Oddies provides a quick, cheap and tasty snack or meal. The store only offers takeaway and although the queues can be big, service is usually quick. Oddies sell the usual staples you'd expect to find in a Greggs store or similar but also a range of more unique pasties and pastries to satisfy your tastebuds as well as your belly!

The menu is far from extensive but there's an adequate selection of sandwiches, pies, toasties and pastries as well as drinks, crisps and chocolates to bulk out your meal. The prices are reasonable and the service is always relatively quick and friendly. The food tastes good and this is my first stop for a bacon butty after a night on the town!

Once you have visited this cafe you will probably visit for ever, it has the best oven bottoms in the world(without a doubt) and if you go you will always find it busy. It is clean and cheerful and you get get a sandwich they take some oven bottoms home , they freeze and defrost particularly well, I have used this shop for years and have never been disapointed. Parking around is not easy but avoid the traffic wardens and give it a go, you won,t be disapointed

This Costa Coffee location is one of two in Burnley town centre, the location seemed to be a little…read morestrange to me, being on the Ground Floor of the Tesco Extra store, right next to the lifts, obviously, this can be handy to pop in before or after your shopping. Having this store does come at the expense of having a Tesco Cafe, I do prefer the latter as they usually offer a greater range of hot food compared to a standard coffee shop, I would have thought a Tesco Cafe which serves Costa Coffee (similar to most of their locations), would have made more sense. There is a small seating area here, it pretty much looks and feels like a regular Costa store. I did find service to be a little slow, the staff were in the back when I arrived and there was nothing to get a barista's attention, and I always feel uncomfortable having to shout to get them to hear me when the staff are in the back room. I did find the coffee to lack flavour, and the selection of food also seemed depleted, despite not being busy at all in the middle of the day. 2* - Useful while shopping in Tesco, but this location could be so much better if you do have time to take the short walk into the town centre, there is a larger Costa as well as many better alternatives.

Subway at Texaco - Kitchens Garage is currently the closest location to Burnley town centre with…read morethe other location temporarily closed due to COVID, it makes sense why they'd keep this store open due to its' location in a standalone unit which is part of a service station, as you can drive right up to it and park outside, which is a benefit you won't have in the town centre. The store is a franchise and is owned/operated by N and K Foods Ltd. For a service station Subway, it was pretty large allowing ample seating when the current situation allows. The pricing was a little bit more expensive than usual, mainly down to the extras costing more, while my base sub was cheaper, I noticed to have any extra toppings would cost more, for example, double meat or an additional topping would cost £1.50 more, a difference of 50% compared to other stores.... that's before adding gluten-free bread too! They did have an issue accepting my free drink reward for completing a survey, the sandwich artist who served me called over her supervisor, he didn't seem to know how to enter the code, he just stared at it before wrongly typing it into the machine, he then blamed the fact that my previous transaction was at another store, which shouldn't be a problem, eventually, I did get my drink, he did seem friendly about it, but the most frustrating part was watching my food sit there going cold while they tried to process the drink, and the fact the drinks machine is also turned off... (why would it be turned off due to COVID when every other Subway store I've been too, has it turned on?) My sub did taste quite good and was fresh, I found it interesting how they used different utensils here including a plastic blue spoon to spread the tuna. 3* - The location is good if you're in a car, however, the walk from the town centre was difficult (I had to set my GPS to car navigations as the pedestrian route on Apple and Google maps was wrong), not really worth the price especially for extras but a decent place to grab lunch on the go in Burnley.
