Really impressed with everything at The Bagel Shop: quantity, quality, value, service, atmosphere. We dined on a 50% off deal which honestly made it quite ridiculously cheap, it's still a very affordable option full price.
I had a pint of the house lager which was fine, and a Reuben bagel which was incredible. Much less handle-able than other bagels ordered by my dining companions ie the grill melt, due to the sheer amount of pastrami. The amount of meat that fell out while I was eating it could have filled a whole other bagel. It was really delicious, though I've already set my sights on the Little Italy bagel for my next trip. I must have breaded mozzarella and gorgonzola mayo. The bagel ganoush also looks excellent with both tempura aubergine and baba ganoush. I reckon this place isn't super vegan friendly simply because of the amount of meat on offer, but if you're vegan and end up here anyway, it's great that there's a (really delicious sounding) option!
Between 5 of us we shared all four kinds of fries and some frickles (deep fried pickles). One million more frickles please. All the fries were good, and I'd probably agree with Natalie W that the Eat New York fries were top banana.
I wanted deep fried apple pie but as they were out of apple, I had to have deep fried cherry pie instead. What an awful shame. I mean really. This was an absolute brick of decadent food and I could already feel the faintly queasy regretful feeling of over indulgence setting in while eating it... But I couldn't stop. And as soon as I woke up the next morning I was craving more deep fried pie. Uh oh.
Really couldn't fault anything about this place, I'd highly recommend and I'll certainly return! read more
