Due to the recent pilot strike of SAS Airlines, what should've been a 2-hour layover turned into a 6-hour layover. Suffice it to say, we had a little bit of time to kill. And, of course we were gonna be hungry.
We had a good first experience with Pret A Manger near our hotel. In looking at the options at EAT, it looked to be pretty much the same type of food. We decided to give it a go. What really caught my eye was the mango and fresh juices. I started off getting both, along with a Chicken Pot Pie soup for my daughter. The mango seemed fresh and tasted like a mango should (I've sometimes bought pre-sliced mango and it tasted as if there was "something else" on them). The juice was fresh, too. I didn't have any of the soup, buy my wife had a little and my youngest daughter finished the rest. Anytime a kid eats everything of anything, that's a good sign. Like I said, we had a 6-hour layover, so we got a few more things here a little bit later (the rest of the restaurants in the terminal got less than spectacular reviews, so we stuck with what we liked. Even if it was only a few bites). We got a breakfast wrap and a chicken, mushroom, barley soup. The breakfast wrap was just ok, but the soup was good again. They only had 3 soups listed, so either the varieties change every day or the menu here is a condensed version. I looked on the website and there are a lot more items.
While I didn't get any, it looks like they also have some pastries and sweets right near the entrance, as well. A lot of it looked good, including my latest addiction, millionaire bars. They also have a lot of seating and also a monitor that has the latest flight/gate updates. read more
