We designed a pantry with Andrew Knight. Everything came packaged so carefully. All directions included with tips and suggesting for where to start. If you are doing this yourself be prepared to put together a LOT of pieces, however the materials are excellent quality and wonderfully pre-cut, planned, etc. we opted for this instead of building our own from scratch because of the preference for the drawers and the corner area. We would definitely recommend!

tl;dr: The product/service this company provides could not possibly be improved upon. The value is extremely high given the very reasonable price paid. I had originally designed two closets using the online tool. I asked to speak with a designer, and she called that night. She was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. She liked the design of my simpler closet but had a lot of very good suggestions for my wife's walk-in. I took all of her suggestions (and I'm glad I did). The closets are for a townhome that I just bought but had not even moved in yet. I needed them to delay the shipment of the product until a certain day. She took care of that, and it arrived just when I wanted. I received 30 --- yes, 30 --- boxes ranging from small to very large. Every box is labeled with what parts are in it and, importantly for me, which closet the parts are for. Every box was amazingly well-secured, and the strengthened cardboard packing/protection did its job. Long story short (ha!!): I prepped both closets --- took down the old hardware, spackled the walls, sanded the walls, and painted the walls. Then I took about 8hrs to build the simple closet and about 12hrs to build the walk-in closet. I was *never* frustrated or led astray by the amazingly clear, well-illustrated, and well-organized instruction manuals (that are personalized for each individual closet). The resulting closets were beyond my hopes for what they might come out to be. I feel a sense of accomplishment and I felt like EasyClosets was an amazingly supportive and competent partner in the whole process. To be clear, if you get frustrated by the complexity of putting together IKEA furniture, or if you have a hard time sticking with a project for more than a couple of hours, then you should go a different route. However, if you think you are up to it, then you will not be let down by the pros at EasyCloset. Great price, great service, great product. Thanks. I'm glad I found you.

I called into EasyClosets and had the pleasure of speaking to Roz Ross. She was so helpful and knowledgeable with assisting in designing two closets for my in-laws. I sent her pictures of their existing closets, so she knew what we needed to accommodate. Everything was packed perfectly to prevent damages. Boxes were clearly marked with what was inside each box and for which closet so we could easily separate. I was able to install them in a day and a half. Great product and great service. Everything fit perfectly. I highly recommend EasyClosets and Roz.

I just got a closet setup from Easy Closets a few weeks ago and we are loving it! Thanks to Saray and Brandi on the customer service team for taking care of my order and for making sure I was totally satisfied with the Easy Closets product. Really appreciate all the help and very satisfied with the closet!

I had a wonderful experience with Grant, who helped me design and order my perfect closet. I started with a reach in closet with the weirdest dimensions because of the wiring and plumbing for a washer/dryer in the same closet. Thanks Grant for taking the time to talk through my design. Thanks also for helping me cancel the first order to edit the design and reorder it with the same discount (sorry about changing my mind). It took one weekend to build with another person and I LOVE IT. Just feedback for EasyClosets - it took some time to figure out which vertical was which and which way to orient them for installation. Would love a video on that. Also the UI/UX of your video library is kinda weird. It took me a minute to realize how many videos there were.

My EasyClosets experience was wonderful! Working with Grant on the design was easy and stress free. Im not overly creative and he was a great help. The boxes arrived within days - so much sooner than anticipated! Everything was there and nothing was damaged - the packaging was next level! Putting the system together was fairly easy and the instructions were clear. The hardest thing was finding the studs in my closet's walls - but with some encouragement from Customer Support I finally found them - I just needed to use longer screws since the previous owner had installed drywall on top of drywall making the studs deeper than they should have been. On one of the last phases, I drilled a hole in a drawer front that I shouldn't have (the dimples on where to drill were very clearly marked - totally my fault!). I called customer support and talked with Brandi. I asked if they had touch up paint or putty they could send. She went above and beyond and has ordered an entirely new drawer front to be sent to me! My experience just couldn't have been better. If you're afraid to put a system like this together, don't be. Just go for it - it's totally worth it and looks amazing! And you'll save a ton of money over other options!

Wow....it really was easy. I had my own design ideas but had a call a couple of times to figure out how to execute them. Reps were very helpful. I even called after placing my order and had to do a quick measurement correction. They were so easy to deal with. My 9 year old and I did the entire closet in 2 afternoons. If we hadn't painted and wall papered we could probably have done it in one. ****Watching the 8ish minute video online is a must for everyone. My rep, Dimitri, was very professional and great at design help. read more

Had a great experience working with Thomas to order two bedroom closets. He was very responsive and helpful for design and the closets were actually very easy to install. Best part was (versus the ones from HD or IKEA) that the only cutting to be done was the support bar and the bar cover. Only negative is the amount of waste from packing material and boxes. There were a lot of boxes. read more

Absolutley terrific experience with EasyClosets. I wanted a custom closet, but wanted to do the install myself, which is exactly what EasyClosets is all about. In my search for a closet organizer, I was being referred to a company that goes by a name of a large state in the far west of the US. Needless to say, I was very unimpressed by the high price of the product. The company kept telling me they had the highest quality of any competitor in the field and used high-pressure sales tactics to obtain a sale. The salesperson looked down their nose when I suggested perhaps looking at a level #2 install as opposed to her suggested and Highly recommended Level #3. I checked out several other companies products and was left underwhelmed with the quality that really didn't compare to the quality of the aforementioned firm. I had almost decided to bite the bullet, and write the check! Fortune intervened, and I was given the opportunity to inspect an installed organizer from EasyClosets. Wow, "Now that's what I've been looking for" and I was impressed. For a considerably lower price, EasyClosets provided me with an exact fit, high-quality and attractive organizer that puts a smile on my wife's lips every time she walks into the closet. She absolutely loves the Hutches with their full slide-out drawers. Recommendations are always subject to the reviewer's prejudices. It is impossible to meet everyone's expectations and acquire full satisfaction from most any endeavor, but EasyClosets comes pretty darn close. If you have any reasonable mechanical aptitude, the assembly is quite easy and obtaining a professional looking result is a breeze. In other words, if you can read a measuring tape, and know which end of a screwdriver is the business end, you're already 90% on your way to a new closet. Buy it, you'll love it! read more

Great closet systems. Highly recommended. We did a remodel of a pretty large walk in closet and while this system wasn't cheap (over $3000 for our closet) , the quality was nice and install was pretty straight forward. They claim great customer service and their claims stand up. They were very helpful and very responsive throughout the whole process of designing, ordering, shipping, questions on installing and even sending some replacement parts after our install. I have nothing but positive things to say. Kudos to Tracey , who helped us through the whole process. read more

We have now made our second order of easyclosets for a second closet in our home. I was very surprised on the first order to be called by a designer because she had questions on my initial design. I didn't ask for this, it is just their process and Denise was very helpful in validating my design and ensuring what I was ordering would work for our situation. While on the phone with Denise, she also suggested a freight delivery due to the size of the order. Again, not something I asked for, but instead something they offered for the client experience. During shipping one of the parts was damaged. My wife called, and no questions asked, they sent out a replacement part for 2-day shipment. While doing the installation of the drawer glides, we had thought we had a bad set of glides.. Again, my wife called, and no questions asked, they sent out a new set of glides 2-day. --I later found that the initial glides were fine and that I had made a mistake on the installation. Net net.. They stand behind their product.. The instructions that ship with the order are excellent. However, I highly recommend you read them through prior to starting. There are subsections within them that pertain to certain portions of your installation and a full read through makes it much simpler to understand where to reference certain information. Thus, you may be on page 5 for one part of your installation, but page 8 and 9 may have information you also need to know for that same step. Again, not a problem once you understand how the instructions are laid out, but we did scratch our heads a couple times with our first install. The quality is there. Everyone that has seen our closet immediately comments on that, and comments on the pricing. We have friends that had custom closets installed and paid far more than what we did and aren't the same quality as ours from easyclosets. Lastly, I am not handy. My wife commonly says "thank god for husbands that make small jobs large enough for professionals to finish." I was able to install these no problem (with her reading the instructions:-), and our next set will be even easier and faster, now we know all the steps.. Thanks for the great experience and product and thanks again Denise for assistance with our second order!! read more

I ordered a system from Easy Closets for my master walk-in closet. I started with a design on the Easy Closets website and later called the 800 number to discuss my design with Dimitri. He provided some very good advice on my design and even helped me finalize it. A couple of weeks later, my system arrive in 34 meticulously packed boxes on 2 pallets. The delivery driver was professional and moved the pallets into my garage for no extra charge. I followed the customized instructions for my system and found the installation process to be very easy. The instructions included a lot of helpful tips and tricks. The installation can be a little time-consuming, but the end product is well worth the time. Amazingly, my shipment included all parts I needed, and even some extra shelve pins, screws, etc. All components were cut to the exact dimensions as indicated in my design. The only thing you need to cut is the metal track, but a good hack saw makes quick work of this task. The finished product was even better than I expected. Everything fit together very nicely and the system is very sturdy. I saved several thousand dollars over California Closets or Closets by Design by designing and installing it myself. I am looking forward to finishing the rest of the closets in my house with Easy Closets. read more

My wife and I just bought a house in Florida (moving from the Chicago area). We knew we wanted to install new organization systems in three closets similar to what we had done in our previous home with EasyTrack. But, in our internet shopping, we found EasyClosets owned by the same company that owns EasyTrack. You won't find EasyClosets at big box stores; they sell through different marketing channels. What's the difference? Well, we got low prices, free shipping, and assistance in design (Denise was terrific!) and custom-cut pieces. We chose to start with our smallest closet, only three sections on a closet wall 84-inches wide. If I had purchased through most other organizer companies, I learned I would be cutting many of the shelves to custom widths. That brings complications to the workplace and a good chance I would cut something too short, or out of square. With EasyClosets everything was custom cut for us except the steel rail that mounts to the wall, and the plastic decor-cover that goes on the rail. There are good reasons why those need to be cut at the jobsite, and it doesn't have to be perfectly on dimension, or perfectly square. You do need a hacksaw. After doing my own design on their website, I got a phone call and an e-mail offering their help with the design. I explained how I expected to use the closet and had a very productive discussion with Denise. She reviewed the plans, made some suggestions, and added notes for the production team to follow as they prepared my order for shipment. She included some extra mounting hardware (screws). So, this order should process through their system ready for me to install; custom cut to my needs; I am good-to-go, right? ... Exactly! The order shipped the next day, was delivered in eight boxes by UPS who carried the boxes into our home for us. In the meantime, Denise sent us an e-mail with links to a couple of very helpful videos to prepare us for what was ahead. We opened the box that said "OPEN FIRST" and began to read the two manuals about installation. One of those manuals is generic and available online at their site. The other was specific to our plan, it included a complete inventory of what they shipped to us. Advice? ... READ THE MANUALS, and watch the videos. More than half of my installation time was spent on the mounting rail. That part must be done right, else you will be in trouble. Also, use a string to help assure the rail is shimmed straight and not bent to conform to a warped wall. This may seem like a trivial part of the installation (it is) but it is very important. The string, when stretched from one end of the rail to the other, should show you that the rail is straight. I needed to shim the rail a quarter-of-an-inch from the wall in one place. Once I started installing shelving, I found how critical this "straight" issue is and needed to take off the hanging verticals and re-shim the rail to get that as close to perfect as possible. The re-work was time well-spent. Total install time was less than four hours (I wasn't in a hurry). Every one of our eight boxes was labeled with its contents, and the contents were matched up to provide efficient and protective packaging; it's not necessarily grouped by how you might intend to put them together. All shelves and verticals were individually labeled with their dimensions, though the label does not make that point obvious. You have to read the label to find the information. It's up to you to organize the inventory for this project. When I ask myself where I'm going to buy the next two closet organizers I need, the quality of the design assistance, the effective packaging techniques, the quality of the components, speed of processing the order, and price, make EasyClosets a no-brainer. read more

Dear EasyClosets, I just wanted to tell you what a great experience we had working with you to re-do our daughter`s bedroom closet. She has two reach in closets and our goal was to move all her clothes and accessories into the closets. We easily started a design on our own on your website and then worked with your designer Roz to fine tune the plan. Roz was incredibly helpful, insightful and responsive. We compared your product to both a local company that designs and installs closets and to a couple of online options (other websites and big box store websites). We found that by ordering from EasyClosets and doing the installation ourselves we saved about 35-50 compared to closet installation companies (about $1000-$1500 for our closet). After seeing both products, I feel they are very comparable. We did find other companies, (big box stores and online vendors) that use similar systems that were a bit less expensive, but we are so pleased we decided on EasyClosets for the following reasons: 1. Drawer boxes come put together already - huge time saver 2. Outstanding instructions 3. Cam shelf installation means that top shelves are fixed and shelves on either side can be installed in the same holes. 4. All shelves and bars are custom cut (only things I had to cut are the steel hanging bar and it`s cover which were easy to do. 5. Enough steel hanging bar provided to cover length of closet as opposed to patching it here and there across the closet and hoping you get it right. 6. High quality drawer front handles (instead of knobs) hardware 7. High quality soft close glides 8. Excellent packaging, boards came unscathed for the most part 9. 3 4 inch MDF The entire closet came in 2 business days. It was clear from the packaging that someone personally checked to make sure all the pieces were included. The instructions were outstanding and the installation was straight forward. There was one piece with a slight problem and without hesitation you shipped a replacement that arrived 2 days later. We are thrilled with the quality and appearance of the final product. We would not hesitate to recommend your product to friends and we will definitely use EasyClosets the next time we want to re-organize a closet. Thank you for providing an outstanding product at an outstanding value. read more

This is my first Yelp review ever, but based on my experience with EasyClosets I needed to let someone know how pleased I have been with my entire experience with this company. Like many other reviews I've read, I came across EasyClosets by a simple google search as I contemplated two closet needs at my home. The first was my son's reach-in closet and the second was going to be a new master bedroom walk in closet to be constructed in the Fall/Winter of last year. After playing around with their design tool, reading reviews, checking out local custom closet companies, I decided to use my son's closet as a test run and made a modest investment with EasyClosets to try their product/system out. I designed the closet completely with their online tool and didn't use the design help with the reach-in closet. I ordered online and sure enough it shipped the next day with three day delivery. Seven boxes showed up at my home three days later, but I knew they would because they gave me a preview of the shipping labels and I could track the packages as they made their way to my home. The packaging was intense in terms of efficiency and protection of the system components. All boxes and content were clearly labeled and the instructions were indeed customized for the closet system I designed online. Again - this was a simple reach-in with basically hanging and shelving. No drawers or other fancy components as this was a basic test and a basic 9-year old's reach-in closet. That said, I was able to install the closet one night after work. I didn't have to cut any rail due to the closet dimensions and design, but suffice it to say if you are minimally handy it is an easy system to install. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the materials and the overall experience I had back in March/April 2016 when I installed my son's closet. Fast forward to the early fall, when we contracted with a local contractor to demolish our existing closets in our master bedroom and to break into the attic space above our one-car garage to construct the space for our master walk-in closet. It was a fairly simple construction project, but did require a building permit, engineering, etc. and took about a month from demolition to completion. Right about the time we had the engineering completed, I started my design work on the master walk-in closet with the EasyClosets design tool. I received a call from Erna Miranda, an EasyClosets design consultant who offered to help me with my design and I took her up on this free service. She was great and patient as I worked through all the thinking that goes into creating useful and efficient closets that meet our personal needs. She offered really insightful ideas and suggestions as to how to improve my space. I have sloped ceilings in the new space and little suggestions meant a lot particularly considering that the space hadn't yet been built. Once construction was complete and finished flooring installed, I verified final measurements and Erna made adjustments to the design to accommodate the new measurements and placed the order with EasyClosets just before Christmas. While my son's reach-in was a simple design, we went full-on adult with this design including pull-out ironing board, dirty clothes hamper, 11 drawers of various sizes, a valet pole, two belt racks, his and her shoe racks, and a sliding pant rack. Needless to say we had a few more boxes and the 36 boxes weighing nearly 1,200 lbs showed up on a Tuesday last week. It took me 4 hours just to take the boxes up stairs, unpack them, and take inventory of the parts. During that inventory I found that one drawer box and the pant rack was missing. I contacted my customer service rep, John Myers who was extremely helpful and immediately ordered the missing items to be shipped. I did have to cut the metal railing this time and this was a simple thing by using a jigsaw with a metal cutting blade. Literally 15 seconds to cut the rail using the jigsaw with proper blade! The specialty items were not difficult to install and I actually enjoyed the increased complexity that these parts added to the installation. I cannot stress how simple the installation is, but I can see that this wouldn't be the case if one hasn't clearly measured the space in which the closet is being installed. Some suggestions for anyone looking to purchase and install an EasyClosets system: 1. Use the design consultants (Erna Miranda was mine and she was great!) 2. Measure three times and order once. 3. Use a jigsaw with metal cutting blade if you want the rail cutting to be easy. I highly recommend this company. I've included some pictures of my new closet which we LOVE! read more

We recently did an extensive renovation of our master bedroom suite, including a large walk-in closet. I contacted several companies that offer closet organization systems but only one was interested in responding to my request for help - Easy Closets. Roz Ross, a designer for Easy Closets, responded to my email the very next day and even included a preliminary design based on general information I had provided. I called her on the personal business line she sent me and she listened as I detailed the design layout I already had in mind and reviewed the layout I submitted online. She gently pointed out flaws that would have created problems and offered suggestions to correct the issues. She took my design plan and tweaked it to use every available inch of space. She never tried to push me to include features I did not need or want. She was very helpful and quite knowledgeable. She helped create an organization system for our closet that fit our needs perfectly! She even worked to help get us the best price possible! Our system was delivered quickly (within a week)directly to our garage. Contents of every box was clearly labeled and assembly instructions were easy to follow. Videos were available to review as well. The system was simple to install and any question we had was answered immediately with just a phone call. This organization system is sturdy and well made, with beautiful finishes, yet at a price point that makes it affordable! You can design something simple and functional or include all the bells and whistles. It's your choice. I highly recommend Easy Closets for any cabinet organization needs you may have. Ask for Roz Ross to help with your design and you won't be disappointed!! read more

Not sure if I would buy again, The installation instructions suck. They are not clear and leave a lot to "guessing". I'm good at reading drawings (used to draw mechanical/electrical layouts) and the ones that come with the kit leave a lot to be desired. One of the 4 sections had to be cut down, I don't know if it was my mistake in measuring or theirs in fabrication; which ever it was, was not worth sending anything back. I have worked 2 full days on assembling 2 sections and have 2 small sections to go. If you are not adept at assembling a jig saw puzzle with limited instructions, this kit is not for you. When the shipment arrived, I was amazed that there was absolutely no order to the "stuff". I can only assume that it was put together in what ever order was easy for the warehouse workers. It would have been nice if it was shipped in a "group" order. After writing this,, would I order again from EasyClosets; not if I needed a much closet storage is we did. I would only order a small system. read more

There's a small learning curve involved with building this company's closets, but it's far from insuperable and the end results are impressive. I've built three closet installations, including one walk-in, and the results have been great. Support from the company also is terrific. Highly recommended. read more

Just completed 3 closets from Easy Closets. The first two were completed smoothly. The last walk-in closest did not go as smoothly. The company did not pack the boxes very well and the shipping label came off which caused UPS to lose the most important box of the 19 boxes. I called the company right away and they sent out another box, that was great on their part. However, we received the box and it was damaged. 9 boards were unusable. More boxes were sent and also UPS found the missing box and delivered. We now have a full house of boxes and 6ft boards that we need to get rid of. I called the company asking if they could send us a return label so UPS would pick up the damage boards and customer service response was to have our local trash pick up. I told them our local trash only picks up 4ft. We would have to cut the boards and we have no means of doing so. My email from easy closet went unanswered. I gave the company 3 stars because our closet looks very nice but packing/shipping and customer service gets a 1 star. PRO Nice closet for a decent price. Easy installation CON Too much boxes and material to dispose of. Company will not pick up damage product. Poor shipping Customer service is not willing to work with you on shipping returns. If you have means of disposing damage boards and a whole lot of boxes and packing material, easy closet is for you. If easyclosets would have sent me a return label so I could return their damaged boards, I would have rated them 4.5 stars. I'm disappointed in their customer service. read more

I recently ordered my second HUGE EasyClosets design. The first was a couple of years ago at my old place in an oddly shaped closet. It's amazing to be able to design exactly what I want and then have a designer review it (for free!!) and call me to discuss any changes they made or any questions they have to make sure they're reviewing it with what I had in mind. The closet arrived in a timely manner (around a week if that) in what seemed like a million boxes. The first thing I did was read the instructions, which said to first organize all pieces by type/size in a separate space, so I did. From there, everything went smoothly, as the directions were incredibly specific. The only thing that was difficult, which I knew in advance and is stated on the website when you order, if you get a "floor mounted" closet, in which the panels extend all the way to the floor (vs. wall mounted where they king of float on the wall), you have to either remove your baseboard or cut a notch out of each panel. Again, not a problem, as I was prepared to do this and knew in advance. I used a hand held electric saw to make the notches and it wasn't too bad! The closet was amazing. There was one piece of the footboard missing - they were super apologetic and sent the correct piece immediately so it arrived within days. I just designed my second closet - the master closet in my new place. I then had a designer review it, adding a comment about what I was trying to accomplish with my design. She (Debbie) ended up making significant changes and emailed them to me, then called to follow up and see if I had questions. Her design made so much more sense for what I was wanting (shoe section/drawers/long hanging/double hanging/etc). It also didn't cost any more - in fact it ended up being a bit less. She also let me know there was a promotion and automatically applied it to my order. Amazing!! One final note...prior to purchasing my second closet, I collected quotes from California Closets, Ikea, The Container Store, and another California Closets type company that I can't remember the name. They were all WAY more expensive than this. The installation is so easy I don't think it is worth it to pay double for someone else to make a design (that you probably won't like because you didn't get to do it yourself) and install it. By the way, I'm a not super handy, younger female who was able to do this almost entirely myself. I had a friend help to hold the vertical panels in place so I could attach them. read more

I was an online customer with a very large delivery order (50+ boxes). I had used EasyClosets 3 times before for walk-in closets at my previous house. When I got to this new property I knew immediately that I would need to rebuild the master closet and EasyClosets was at the top of my list. This is an older home (built in the early 70's) and it's gone through several remodels already. Although the master closet is a "walk-in" per se it is not your typical rectangular shaped room but more like a puzzle piece with different ceiling elevations and wall cut-outs as it was essentially squeezed into an unused space in the middle of the structure even though it is still a fairly large room (the equivalent of 12'x8'). For good order's sake I did pursue the closet system available through my Costco membership. That was a real disappointment. It took them a couple of weeks to fit the initial consultation into their schedule and when the consultant arrived she was scattered and unprepared (had to ask if she could borrow my tape measure). The odd dimensions of the room obviously threw her off and then it took her several more weeks to come back with a very simplistic design that didn't meet any of our needs. Using only their most basic components (white laminate shelves, no doors, or other designer elements) the total price was $15K - ouch! I knew at that moment that I could design something far better on the EasyClosets website and save a ton of money by doing the installation myself. It's important to note that the online design tool is a little finicky. It takes time and patience. I also recommend coming up with a design, printing it out, and then studying it in the room that the system will be installed in. There are little things like pieces of trim, baseboards, light switches, outlets, windows, and door jambs that you don't think of when designing so there is a lot of tweaking to the layout that needs to occur. Dimitri Benos at EasyClosets offered their free professional design services several times but given the odd configurations of my space I knew that it would be very hard for them to do the design effectively without being in the room themselves. It's also important to think about how you use the closet and what will be going in there. Having just moved from a cold climate to a warm climate, my wife and I had to completely rethink what articles of clothing, types of shoes, etc. would be in the closet on a regular basis and what we will use the most. So we studied and tweaked our design for a couple of weeks before making a final commitment. The design tool is great from a budget standpoint because it keeps an ongoing tally of how much the system will cost so you can add or delete elements to stay on budget. After placing the order I was surprised how quickly I received a shipping notice. I ordered on a Sunday and the shipping notification was emailed Tuesday morning. I could have had the product at my house before the following weekend but we were out of town so we delayed the delivery to early the next week. The only problem we had with the delivery was with the freight company. Since my order was so large it came by freight and not UPS delivery. The freight company will only deliver to "curbside". Since it was 50+ boxes we wanted the delivery in our garage which is literally a flat 30 foot run from the curb and not some long winding driveway. Despite having made the garage completely empty, the truck driver refused to put the delivery in the garage and instead left it sitting outside. Tackling 50 heavy boxes on 2 huge pallets was no easy feat so that took several days and we are lucky it didn't rain or anyone walking by got curious and helped themselves to something. An important note on assembly. If building Ikea furniture is difficult for you then stop right there! You definitely need an element of light carpentry experience and a good set of tools to put the system together. I am a very handy guy and have a lot of experience with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc. So for me, assembly was very easy. And once you've put one EasyCloset system together your learning curve rises quickly. But I can see where this could be very daunting for others and hence some of the negative reviews. But this is where the savings come into play. Skilled labor is expensive. This is a do-it-yourself system for a very good reason. I designed a system using top notch components that is easily twice the "value" of the Costco system I described above and it looks like a professional installation. In fact, I have a contractor doing real work at my house (kitchen remodel) and he even asked if he could take a closer look at the closet because it's so impressive. My total cost with EasyClosets was under $10K and I am quite sure if I had use the same higher grade components with Costco it would have been $20K+ installed. Overall, I love the product and will keep coming back for more. read more

I have used EasyClosets three times for all the closets in my house and couldn't be more pleased. They look very professional and I have had many complements. Of course, it does take quite a bit of effort, but the cost is worth all the work. The packaging is fantastic and the online support excellent. I had to have one piece replaced and it was shipped the next day. read more

Easy Closets really worked well for us. The design tool is easy to use and let us look at a variety of different design options. The design services provided by Dimitri Benos was great - with his expertise, he helped optimize our design before we finalized it. Our contractor installed the unit and everything works perfectly. Nice when the final product was almost better than we imagined. read more

Love, Love, Love! We received a quote from california closets for our master bedroom closet and thought we would shop around. Stumbled upon EasyClosets and input a design based on what we reviewed with CA closets. It was so much less and we ended up adding more bells and whistles and still came under the first quote. We were worried with how the end project would be but couldn't be happier. It is one of our favorite rooms in the house. Makes us want to redo all our other closets as well. We finally decided to redo our master closet while doing some painting. Our house is only ten years old, but I originally put in "temporary" wire shelves until I could do it up right. 10 years later... This will be a LONG post, but I want to share some installation tips. I was impressed with the flexibility of the design tool. It took a little playing around to understand all the features, but it doesn't take long until one does. This was perhaps the most attractive feature. We looked at various closet kits in store and on line, but how great to be able to design down to 1/8 of an inch! I spent a lot of time on the design and got feedback from Erna at Easy Closets. She made a few tweaks and away we went. I received my boxes in less that a week. 18 packages and about 600 pounds, I'd guess. A few of the long boxes were beat up on the ends and that worried me but when I opened them, I discovered excellent packing and no harm done. We did have a cracked 5" drawer and a slightly marred draw front caused by the packing straps, but all in all very well packed. I looked over the instructions, but being a DIYer (and a "know-it-all" engineer) I pretty much dove in and figured it out myself. The instructions are good but a little confusing in spots (the cleating and where to install the draw glides) but easy enough to figure out yourself. This is not a project for the timid. It's much more complex than putting together IKEA furniture, in my opinion! My tool list included: Stud finder--but use a fine drill to really make sure (every stud!) Hacksaw Screw drivers (including an offset driver for the lowest hutch shelf) Rubber mallet Miter box--I have a power miter saw, but used my cheapie Stanley manual box to cut the rail cover right in the closet 4-foot level Drill and various drill bits--do screwing in boards by hand! A dovetail saw--a fine cut to remove baseboard behind the hutch I worked hard to standardize to 24" and 30" widths. This will allow me to trade shelves around as needed. I'm leery of wider widths as the shelves might sag (but I don't know that for sure). This meant I ended up with a couple of small section on the rear wall, but they are behind the side wall units anyway. The fabrication precision is quite remarkable. I would say well less than 1/32". Everything fit flawlessly except one cleat was a tiny bit too long (1/2 saw kerf). The hardest part of the project by far is hanging the rails so they are absolutely straight. I was surprised how crooked the wall were in my high-end home. I had to shim the rail away from the wall as much as 1/4 inch. The need for this (if you think about it) is that if the rail isn't perfectly straight and you have multiple units, when you tighten the cam shelves, this will impose a load on the verticals that will tend to pull them away or push them toward the rail. This can cause a support failure as pointed out in the instructions. What the instructions don't tell you is how to figure out where to shim the rail. The first step is to carefully mark a line showing the bottom of the rails. I used my long level. I figured the rail height so the hutch actually settled well into the carpet. I first established the end points for the rails and cut it such that the rail junction (my closet is 10' long) was over a stud. Next I temporarily hung the rail with a few loose screws. I then ran a string from rail end to rail end. I propped the ends of the string away from the rail so a 1/4" drill bit would just clear. This same distance from the string has to be maintained at each place a screw or toggle was installed. Once you get a general idea of where shims are needed, start at one end and screw into the studs. I used wood shims from the lumber yard, Use one from the top and one from the bottom so the rail doesn't tilt. Mark them and saw them off even with the top and bottom of the rail. Now that the rail is firmly fasten to the studs, recheck the clearance for the string with the drill bit. Next figure out where the verticals go and shim behind the toggles you install. The rest is easy. Getting that rails correct is more than half the work. Cleating was a bit mysterious until I thought about the geometry a bit. The cleats (the 1/3 boards the width of a shelf) are not there to hold unit up, they are there to keep it from pulling away from the wall by breaking the notches in the verticals. Short verticals must have cleats under the top shelf. I used "cabinet" screws for a much nicer finished look than regular wood screws. The cleats provide a nice finished look to the units and I plan to order more cleats such that each of my 10 compartments has a cleat under the top shelf. I installed an angle bracket (a few were supplied but I bought more) at the top and bottom of every vertical. The top one added additional insurance against pulling away from the wall and the bottom one added a little load support help. Paint them. read more

So I have not even managed to complete installation of my closet yet, but I can tell you that you all have some of the best customer service I have ever encountered in any business. Seriously, I do not say this lightly. Everyone I have dealt with has been patient, courteous, knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. Whatever the company is paying its support and sales personnel, it is worth it (you all deserve a raise actually). The icing on the cake is the fact you all are sending me replacement materials, without charge, that I need only because of my trouble putting the system in and missing the initial measurements a bit. I was stunned. So, it is solely because of this service that I will use the company again. Not that there is anything wrong with the product (to the contrary-it is well made and well designed), but there are a lot of places to get these types of systems. It is the customer service that has set you all apart. This first closet was the smallest I am doing and I have two master bedroom walk-ins to complete next. I suspect I will spend in excess of $7,000 just on my next order and you can thank your customer service for that fact. Nice work you all. On the technical side, these systems are necessarily fairly unforgiving due to design and materials and, although I consider myself pretty handy, I had issues. Mostly relating to the hanging the rail on an undulating wall (carefully pointed out in the instructions) and initial measurements (also carefully pointed out in the ordering process). So, you guys have done you job and the issues I had were entirely my own. I needed experience putting in the system to understand where I needed to be exceptionally careful and attentive. Thank you all again. Wade K. read more

Easy Closets are a fantastic way to get custom closets without paying the prices of California Closets/ others. The design tool was good, but it was really the work of Scott, the sales rep, who sold me by helping me customize real time on the phone to get exactly what I wanted. He was available on the phone/ by email to answer questions after the fact also. Great customer service. Having installed the first one in our master walk in wardrobe with a local handyman (with labor included, estimate total cost at 50% of California Closet Quote) I am ordering 3 more for smaller closets in our house. The only reason they don't get 5* is because of delivery - one guy turned up to deliver the 30+ boxes, many of which were heavy and it was pure luck that my husband was there to help as I had a broken foot at the time and was on crutches. I know it is outsourced but it is important that partners have the same level of service as Easy Closets themselves. read more

I had a very good experience with Easy Closets. Our designer, Dmitri, was very helpful, timely in his responses and accommodating. We had a very big project (we converted a bedroom into a walk-in closet/dressing room), so it took quite a bit of time to get everything assembled. We had 64 boxes of materials that took up a two car garage! The biggest problem we had was dealing with a wall that wasn't exactly flat. Luckily it was the last wall we worked on, so our prior experience on the other three walls helped get through it. However, the instructions were inadequate in explaining how to deal with such a situation. It's contemplated in the instructions, but not at all clear. Although we had diagrams of our project, the actual assembly instructions are generic. That's not a huge problem, but instructions for my actual project would have been better. It would also be helpful if the primary mounting bracket was cut to length at the factory for each customer's project. If your measurement is off by more than about 1/4 inch when cutting that bracket, you're not going to be able to assemble the shelving properly. On the positive side, customer service was excellent. The product looks great and functions great. It's not as nice as custom cabinetry, but that's to be expected given the much lower price. If you're in an older home with uneven walls, this system can be very tricky to install. If you have newer construction, I think it will produce a very good result. I will definitely use them again for the walk-in closet in our master bedroom. read more

This could not have been easier. I worked with Roz the consultant in designing my walking closet. She made the process easy and VERY accommodating. Extremely happy with the product and the quality of the wood. And YES I was able to install the system myself with little difficulty. The closet now has a high end look that I was looking for. They completely mislead us when we purchased the closet. They did not inform us that we would be needing a saw to install the closet. It's supposed to be "easy" to install. I do not consider needing to go to home depot to rent a saw then needing to get a handy man to come to my house to cut the part since I have never used a saw before and do not want to injure myself. When you go with other companies like theirs you get everything cut perfectly to the size of your closet. When I called the customer service they told me it was "clearly stated on the website!!" I asked him to show me where, it was in small print through several pages where you would have to watch a video to see these things. I worked with one of their designers to create the job and they did not tell me. This is misleading and completely terrible service. Go with Container Store!!! They will cut for you and are basically the same price if you go during their annual sale. read more

My name is Teressa Grijalva, owner of Closet Prep & Paint. We support the closet industry by bridging the gap between design and installation by removing existing rods & shelves and repairing & painting the walls (Closet Prep), prior to the installation of new closet systems. We work with all closet companies, most of which design, manufacture and install their own closet systems, but they do not prep and paint before they install. Easy Closets designs, manufactures and ships the pre-cut parts to their clients, who are responsible for install. Over the last 10 years, Closet Prep & Paint has been contacted by people who have purchased Easy Closets systems to, not only prep their closets, but to install their Easy Closets systems. I have been 100% impressed with their efficient turn around time (from order to delivery is usually less than 1 week), the quality of their materials, their affordability, the selection of accessories, thorough installation instructions, and how well packaged their materials arrive. Easy Closets offers a quality product, a dedicated design team to help you design your own closets and ensure functionality with their amazing online design software, a responsive customer service team, and provides a lifetime guarantee. Installation can be daunting. For the handy do it your selfer ... it's a breeze. But if you're not so handy or don't have the time, give Closet Prep & Paint a call to help. read more

I recently purchased additional drawers for an existing EasyClosets system in my master closet. While the ordering process initially seemed straightforward, I ultimately encountered several issues with both the parts I received and the installation instructions. I spoke with 3 different customer service representatives, but unfortunately each interaction only made the situation more confusing and frustrating. Thankfully, I eventually connected with a fourth representative, Brandi W., whose knowledge, patience, and persistence helped resolve the problems created by the previous agents. Even with Brandi's assistance, I cannot say the drawers function flawlessly--which is not a reflection on her--but together we arrived at a solution that works adequately for my purposes. Without her product knowledge and commitment to customer service, I likely would have returned the drawers altogether. Brandi was exceptionally easy to work with. She was prompt, clear, and concise in all follow-up communication and remained committed to finding a workable resolution. My five-star rating is a direct reflection of her professionalism, friendliness, ability to understand the issues, and success in resolving them. As for the other representatives, I would rate them closer to a three-star experience--and that may be generous. The following details are provided to alert other customers to potential issues they may encounter: The drawer slides provided by EasyClosets were physically smaller than the existing slides in my system. Once installed on the cabinet walls, the spacing between the new slides was approximately 1/8 inch too wide. This prevented the drawer-mounted slides from aligning properly with the cabinet-mounted tracks. It is important to note that the cabinet interior dimensions matched EasyClosets' specifications exactly. I provided photos (see image) and a detailed explanation of the issue, but the EasyClosets "engineer" either ignored the information or failed to fully understand the problem. He simply instructed me to insert the drawer slides into the tracks, despite the fact that I had already explained this was physically impossible because of the excessive spacing between the mounted slides. I ultimately resolved the issue by installing two 1/16-inch shims between each cabinet wall and its corresponding slide. This corrected the alignment and allowed the drawers to function. However, the new slides still do not operate as smoothly as the original units. They rub and bind somewhat during opening and closing, even though the drawers are level. My order also included drawer pulls that did not match the original hardware. Apparently, I have an older system, and although the representative handling my order had access to my prior purchase information, the incorrect hardware was still sent without advising me that the original pulls were no longer available. Because the replacement handles were wider than the originals, new drawer-face covers had to be provided, and I ultimately drilled new holes so I could install matching handles that I purchased separately from a local hardware store. None of these issues were insurmountable, but given what EasyClosets charges for a single drawer, I expected more of a plug-and-play experience at that price point. I understand that mistakes can occur with online ordering and that not every transaction goes perfectly. However, when customers report problems, representatives need to step back, listen carefully, and approach the issue with forethought and technical understanding. That is exactly what Brandi did, and she deserves full credit for turning an extremely frustrating experience into one that was ultimately manageable and successful. read more

After much research I finally ended on EasyClosets.com. The biggest driver was the 3D Design space. It was FAR better than any other website out there. While it took some getting used to, I was able to everything I needed to do. Very clean and intuitive. After a consult with a design expert Patricia, we eliminated some of the unnecessary and excessive shelving. We also changed the depth from 21" to 19", and this ended up saving around $2,000. Material cost seems to be the biggest driver. I finally ordered it after a 20% off promotion came up. It arrived 2.5 weeks later, on 3 pallets. Good thing I had made space in the garage, because they were big and heavy. The boxes were EXTREMELY well packaged. There was no way anything had shifted or had any chance of being damaged. And nothing was! Not a single scratch. Crazy. Though I was left with a TON of recycling. All the materials were well made, solid, and strong. This is not Wayfair or IKEA furniture. The shelving was dense and heavy. There was also more than enough mounting hardware. The instructions, while seemingly sparse, were definitely sufficient. Everything is there, so read and re-read until it makes sense. Most everything went together as planned, and I ran into very few issues. Most issues were because I skipped reading some of the instructions. Like I said, read them all. I was able to do 90% of it myself, with only help from my wife holding shelves in place while I tightened them together. It took about 25 hours to put together, but I'm meticulous. Though I am confident that really anyone can do this themselves. It is that easy. I will be using them again for another closet. Helpful Hints: -Measure your walls from all sides (top bottom front back)! One wall was warped, so it was a very tight fit on one side. Wish I would have measured that before ordering. -Use shims if you're floor mounting, especially if you have carpet. -Use their design consultant. They are free and will ensure your design is correct. -Don't rush it! Everything works as it should, so slow down, get a game plan and execute. There were a couple downsides though but I was able to work around them: 1-Since I was using a floor mounted design on carpet, it was extremely difficult to install the toe boards as the last step. Even with shims under the verticals, I still had to loosen and lift the bottom shelf, then use a rubber mallet to pound it into place. Also, the instructions had the cam lock screw at one hole below the bottom shelf, but it was actually two holes below. After I did that, everything aligned, but I was not able to them cam lock the bottom shelf. It is now used as a secret compartment. (Unexpected bonus!) 2-All the accessories have a standard depth of 14". Since I used the 19" deep panels, I had to drill new 3/8" holes for the EuroScrews to mount into. I had to be extremely careful not to drill through the vertical. It worked out, but I didn't see this listed anywhere in the instructions. 3-The hanging rods mount on the front row of vertical mount holes. While on a 14" deep shelf, this may be OK, on my 19" deep shelf the clothes hung out a good 6-8", leaving almost a foot of dead space between the clothes and the wall. I made a template and drill new 3/8" mounting holes on the vertical centers, so that the clothes hang flush with the front and the wall. No more clothes hanging out! Much cleaner. It would be great to provide that as an option (center hang option), especially on deeper closets. read more

Great product and service! We had been searching for something to redo our closet with since we were on a limited budget when we built the house. The Rubbermade wire closet system was just not cutting it anymore after falling down twice. Do you know what it's like to open your closet and find all of your clothes on the floor? So we began looking and locally we could not find anything that was the quality we wanted without going to an actual cabinet maker. I began searching online and ran across this website and it immediately caught my eye when I could design it myself online to see if it was worth spending anymore time looking at it. Shortly after I saved the design I was working on so I could show my wife later, I received an email from Tracey asking if I needed any help with my design. I told her that I wanted to show this to the boss and that we would go from there. My wife really liked it so we finished designing our closet and then submitted it to see if we made any mistakes. Tracey got back to me early the next day with a couple suggestions and options that she thought would improve our layout and actually saved us a few bucks. We decided to go ahead and order since there was a sale and have it delivered a couple days after Christmas so we wouldn't have all these boxes around during the holiday. The order ships! I got the email that said the order shipped and that it would be there tomorrow. Seriously? 1 day shipping? Ya right. But lo and behold when I get home from work the next day there it is, all 18 boxes sitting on the porch. Now to get it all in the house and inventory, which is great advice just in case something would happen to be missing. But no, everything was there exactly as the invoices said. And great job on the packing, they have this down to a science! Sat down and read through the directions and it all seemed pretty straight foward and figure it would make even more sense once I started installing. Now to get rid of all these boxes and then get the closet ready. We spent quite a while on Friday night cleaning out the closet and just about the time we got everything out, I realized I didn't take a before pic. I suggested to my wife that we put it all back in and I just got that look. So no, there is no before pic. Got al the holes patched and touched up the paint. Ready to install! Good job for Saturday. OK here we go. Started installing about mid morning after running a couple errands and it was slow going at first. Just wanted to double check myself and make sure I didn't screw up the layout and have to take it down and start over. But once you get the track up things really begin to go together quick especially if you have a helper feeding you parts. I don't think the installation could be much easier than it is. Finished up about 6pm and cleaned everything up and started putting the clothes back in. This is just a really nice quality system that changed our cheap closet into a more upscale looking closet that you might see in the higher priced homes. The quality is so much better than the system that I saw at the home improvement stores and not for much more money in the end. I can already see more projects in the future where we could use these in the house. Thanks for everything! read more

I have done numerous projects with EasyClosets. Two bedrooms at my old house, three closets at my brothers house including a monster master closet, and now two bedroom closets at my new house. I have nothing but great things to say about this company. The product quality is excellent and the designers and customer support folks are great and generally easy to reach. When we sold our last house, the buyers could not believe the closets we had installed. It was a great selling point. You do need to carefully read the instructions especially on how to hang the support bar, as its critical to do it right and ensure its fastened to studs or with toggles in the right places. but if you read closely and understand what is being outlined, its not hard to do. Since I have done it before, it was second nature. Once the support bar is hung the closet build goes pretty quickly, you hang the verticals and then lock in the cam shelves. I spent more time ripping out the old crappy closet shelves, spackling and painting than I did installing the EasyClosets closets. Things have improved over the years (not that they were bad to begin with but it shows they are always trying to get better) , such as you don't need to cut the hanging rods to length anymore, they do it for you, and all of the shipping packaging is now fully recyclable. The drawer slides are top notch, as are the drawer boxes. They come prebuilt, which is awesome. One thing I would suggest is that if you need to cut a clearance in the vertical panel because otherwise it would rest on a screw on the track underneath it, that you place something up against the part of the vertical panel that forms the notch so that if the drill skips, it doesn't bounce into the notch and take a hunk out of it. I used a flat metal paint scraper for this purpose and it guarded the notch perfectly from my roaming drill bit and unsteady hand until the bit "took" to the wood. Having EasyClosets suggest something like this in their documentation would be helpful to others, IMO. Another word of advice is to measure, then do it again, and then have someone else check it again, and then ensure that the EasyClosets design reflects those measurements exactly, before you place the order. This includes depth, if you decide to deviate from the standard. My last two closets were challenging, due to weird room dimensions, some customizations made to accommodate them, and some uneven walls. Overall they came out awesome but I did need to call support twice to get some adjustments made and get some parts reshipped due to an incorrect measurement I had made - not my usual M.O., but it happens... EasyClosets did it and did not charge me at all for the additional parts even after I offered to pay for my own mistake! Truly one of the best companies I have done business with, we knew when we moved recently we would be calling EasyClosets soon after. I have recommended them to many folks over the years and would not hesitate to do it again. read more

I just ordered my third closet from Easy Closets, and would not keep coming back if I did not think they were so excellent. Here's what I like about them: 1. Their online design tool makes it quite easy to try out different ideas and see what they look like and what they cost. And you can take as much time as you want to think about it, and adjust it as many times as you want with no pressure from anyone. 2. When you think you have it right, by all means let one of their designers review it. I have worked with Scott R. (extension 106) and he has always had some helpful suggestions that are not easy to think of in the design tool. For example, if the end of a unit will be visible as you walk into the closet, they can finish it so that it is solid without all the holes for shelving, and it looks a lot better. Once you start with a designer they will always refer you back to that designer, and I like that. I have gotten to know Scott and recommend him, but based on reviews, all of their designers seem good. 3. Their service is outstanding. For this most recent closet, I'm not sure whether the sierra or chestnut wood colors will go better with our floor, so they are sending actual samples of both before we finalize the order. No charge. Any problems I've had with installation have been taken care of immediately at no charge, even if they were my fault. 4. They custom cut everything for the order, and package it beautifully. Yes, there is a bit of unpacking to do and cardboard to recycle, but the product comes with no damage, and is beautifully labelled so you know what is in each box. 5. Installation is not hard and goes well. I am 78 years old, and am used to assembling knock down products etc., but I'm not a professional installer or contractor. The main thing is to be really careful about getting the metal bar that everything hangs from straight, level, and secured to the wall studs. I've done both closets myself, with no problem. 6. The product is excellent quality and holds up well. The first closet I did was in a custom-built master bedroom, and was 20' long and 8' wide, with doors at both ends of the long wall. We put 5 drawer bureaus at both ends of the long back wall, with hanging units in between. On the near wall we put all shelves, including shoe shelves, wire baskets for hampers, and pull-out poles, called valets, which are great for selecting clothes, or when packing or unpacking. We have used this closet for 6 years and it still looks and functions like new. Everyone goes Wow! when they see it. If you like working out your own design ideas, and are comfortable with straightforward do it yourself installation, or have successfully assembled knock down furniture, I think you will love working with Easy Closets and love the quality, value, and service that they provide. Highly recommended. read more

WE LOVE EASY CLOSETS!!!! Looked at every option: California Closets, Container Store's new closet service, etc., and was appalled at the prices (Container Store quoted us over $7k for our little walk-in closet!). Found the Easy Closets website and after playing with the design tool (really fun!) I emailed for pro help and my closet angel, Roz Ross, immediately came to my rescue. In a snap she helped me figure out how to REALLY optimize our closet. She sent out the (many, many) wood/color samples and hardware/special fittings catalog, and then we were ready to order FOR SO MUCH LESS MONEY IT WAS AMAZING. We were expecting to see a somewhat inferior product for the reduced cost, but all the materials were actually nicer than the contractor-created walk-in we had in our last home. Everything was solid, heavy, beautiful and totally top quality (actually looks even better in real life than in the photos, and the photos look darn good). You can install these closets yourself with just regular household tools (you will need a metal hacksaw to cut the metal brackets, but it's not that hard to do). We decided to have our contractor's guys install them for a modest install fee (end product still thousands $$ less than the competitive closet resources), and even though you really should read all directions carefully and follow, step by step, to ensure success (and take your time and allow a weekend day), I'm sure these guys just went for it. Everything turned out beautifully but most importantly, when we did have some shipper damage on a vertical support and also needed to swap out some drawer glides, Roz IMMEDIATELY came to the rescue, had customer service (lovely Debra) call me in mere moments, and shipped out replacement pieces in only two days (from the Midwest, and we are in CA) at no charge. There was not even a brief inquisition--Easy Closets just made sure we had what we needed to complete our job speedily. We are not in our new home yet, but even without paint, carpet, etc, our closets look spectacular and we are marveling at how they take advantage of EVERY square inch of space and are planned specifically for the way WE live, not anyone else. We will post pics as soon as everything is complete and our stuff is in, but in the meantime, if you are looking for the best quality, BEST service, and most realistically priced closet solution on the market, please try this resource for closets, kitchens, pantries, garages, you-name-it. To date, this is the ONLY thing that has gone in beautifully in our remodel. Ahhh, if only everyone ran their remodeling businesses like this wonderful company. The very, very nicest people too (thank you, wonderful Roz and Debra). EC Gets OUR gold award! --Kathy G and Ron R in Pasadena CA read more

I'm going to start this out by saying I'm a 50 year old female who knows how to hammer a nail and use a drill, but not much else. Bought a new house and decided to do 6 closets all at once ( buy more, save more discount). The price of Easy Closets was a no-brainer compared to other closet companies. I designed some myself, and called and got help with two of them. Everything shipped very fast. I looked at the 68 boxes (yes, really!!) I received for a few weeks before I got up the courage to build one. I've just finished number 4. The first one was the hardest (obviously) but once I did one it was easy to move the others along quickly. My son helped me a a little bit with #1, we built #2 together in one evening, I hired a carpenter for 3 hours to help with #3, and I did #4 all by myself Some things I learned along the way: I wouldn't recommend buying them all at once, or if you do I hope the company can bundle the pieces by closet - I had pieces from 3 closets all in the same box. 4 of the closets are the same color so it was very confusing and I ended up cutting some pieces (to fit for moulding) that I shouldn't have. The design process should take into account moulding, and they should precut those pieces. They recommend you take off any moulding and reattach it in pieces to fit when the closet is built, and I did this with closet 1 and have a big hole to patch. My moulding is 5.5", so it would have been much better if I could put that into the design and they cut it. They had it already cut for shorter moulding. This makes a difference esp if you have hutches- I had a carpenter cut the bottom cam shelves to account for the moulding and it was sooo much easier. Drawers- to level/attach the drawers they recommend using one euro screw and one 5/8" screw. I would recommend using two euro screws, since you put them into predrilled holes, check with the level, and then put in the 5/8" screw. Doing that I had no problems with any of the drawers hitting against each other. Please take this all as constructive criticism, I gave Easy Closets 5 stars because it really is pretty easy, they look great, and it saves me thousands of dollars that I can use towards another project. I have one more closet to do and will definitely use them again. These are just a few things that I think would make it easier for people when installing. Definitely make sure you measure your closet in a couple places/ my walls were not level so it made one closet a challenge in that one shelf is a hair too wide to fit properly. And read the instruction book From cover to cover. A few times. And following the instructions around measuring and marking makes a big difference. Please see two of the finished product read more

We are absolutely thrilled with the outcome of our EasyCloset project. We got quotes to have new closets professionally installed and estimate we saved $800 - $1000 dollars ordering direct from EC and installing ourselves. We believe their product is equal to, if not superior to, the ones we were considering. In fact, the EasyCloset system allowed us customization options that either weren't available with the other vendors or would have been an additional cost as a 'custom option'. Roz, our design consultant was awesome! She assisted us with our closet design and made suggestions and improvements to maximize our space and achieve what we were attempting to accomplish with a difficult closet layout. They offer their design services at no additional charge and Roz gave us design tips and helpful install links every step of the way. The results speak for themselves and we couldn't be more pleased with the outcome and the money we saved. My son and I installed both closets in one weekend. (I prepped and painted the closet the weekend before). Understand that these closet installs require the proper tools and it is very helpful if you are somewhat handy and have tackled small home-improvement projects prior. If you are unsure or overwhelmed, consult a friend or family member with some carpentry or construction knowledge to help. I am not trying to discourage anyone, just make sure your expectations are realistic. I took this on after getting quotes and researching and realizing that this was a project that was within my skill-set (which is amateur/novice). However, I read some reviews that were slightly negative due to install issues they encountered. We encountered many obstacles and installation challenges along the way, which I was able to troubleshoot and overcome by reading the instructions provided and using common-sense. We encountered uneven walls; requiring shims and a combo of dry-wall toggles and stud screws for the hanging track. We had to hang 2 verticals over screws on the track requiring a notch to be drilled into the vertical with a 3/8 bit to allow it to properly seat on the track without damaging the vertical. This was all explained in the instructions on how to do, but some people may be intimidated by this. I also had to adjust (by loosening and re-positioning) a couple of cam shelves and re-tighten so that they properly aligned. We will be using EasyClosets again to put a new closet in my son's room! He enjoyed helping me installing our master closet so much that he can't wait to help me install his! read more

I have installed 5 Easy Closets over the last 2-3 years - 2 simple one wall closet organizers and 3 multi-wall walk in closets; and I am a HUGE fan. From the design process to the packaging to the instructions to the parts to the service to the quality of the final product - they have every process worked out and running smoothly. I love designing my closets using the on line system - I can get exactly the components that I need and in the place where I want them. I once tried to do this at the local hardware store, which has a similar closet system, to check out the price and options - after an hour with the sales guy, we both gave up and he asked me - "what was the name of that site that you were using"? The parts come in an intimidating number of boxes, but the boxes are well labelled and extremely well packed. The engineer in me is really in admiration of whomever designed the packaging. The instructions cover everything in a logical simple fashion and every time I've had a question - it was in the instruction booklet somewhere. The installation is extremely easy - getting the track up level is the hardest part and that is usually more about what is behind the wall of your house than about the track. Once the track is up, the rest usually follows in a straight forward fashion. I am especially impressed by the service. Anthony Ponder is my go-to guy and he is super well informed and has always helped me in a timely and expert way both with design and with install. I have had a few issues where I made mistakes and mis-measured or broke a part and I had new parts, at no cost, shipped to me SO fast that my head was spinning. It kept my project moving along and kept me installing more easy closets :-). Finally, the finished product looks professionally done and of high quality. The oldest closets are holding up very well even to the wear and tear of kids' usage. The value for the money can't be beat. I had an estimate for our first closet from California closets and Easy Closets was half the price and I can't see the difference in the final result PLUS I have the satisfaction of having done it myself. My next project is to install hanging baskets in the laundry room to match the ones in the kids' rooms so that they can swap out their dirty clothes baskets for clean clothes baskets and I can get rid of the plastic baskets on the floor. I highly recommend Easy Closets!! read more

The online design tool is fantastic, so that you can be sure your closet design gives you just the mix of hanging/shelving/drawers/shoe sections to suit your wardrobe - or whatever you are designing. We did a master closet, laundry room, and mudroom. We had a long design process as we were doing a large house remodel, and I started designing the closets months before ordering. It was easy to tweak the designs as I thought of new things to accommodate, and then again once our spaces were actually built and I had final measurements which were slightly off from the initial expectations. As part of how EasyClosets work you are assigned a design assistant who handles any questions you have and can make suggestions as well. I found this worked well because instead of getting a random person anytime I'd call in, I'd have the same one to talk to and wouldn't need to describe the details of what we were trying to do all over again. This does mean when you call in your assistant might not be immediately available, but she always got quickly back to me. Install was done by our builders, who were very impressed and happy with the directions that came with the closets. They most often install Rubbermaid systems that don't have instructions or labels on the pieces. EasyCloset has every piece labeled and very detailed instructures. It was tedious to open all the boxes and sort through all the parts, but once that was done install was straight-forward and quick. With ordering three systems together, many of the pieces were mixed together and all the hardware comes mixed in one box. Because each of our systems was a different color it was especially easy to separate the parts, but with the labeling it should be okay even if they weren't. But for anyone else planning to buy multiple systems, keep that in mind; it may be easier to order on separate dates if you have systems all the same color. Our install was done about a month after delivery, and when we found a couple pieces had damage, it was easy to call in and request replacements which are due to arrive in less than a week. No fuss was made or any demand to show proof, and there's no cost to us. Altogether we are very happy. The quality is high - everything is very sturdy and looks good. Pricing is fantastic compared to other closet systems. And customer service is very responsive. read more

I had a great experience with EasyClosets. The online tools are easy to use and really helped me to understand the different options available in the closet design. I loved being able to play with different ideas before settling on a final direction. Once I had gotten the design 80% of the way, I enlisted the help of a designer to help me get it to 100%. My designer, Dimitri, was excellent! He called me within an hour of receiving my request and we talked through my needs and the design I had already saved into the system. He made several recommendations and tweaked the design to deliver the perfect closet. He was super attentive and had made great suggestions. I was very impressed with his high level of service and attentiveness throughout our interaction. I looked at a lot of closet systems from IKEA and ELFA to high-end custom solutions before ultimately deciding to go with EasyClosets. I liked the look of the system and also really appreciated that the pieces could be cut to my exact dimensions so that I could utilize every available inch. I felt that I was able to get the look and flexibility of a custom solution at a price that was lower than anything I had seen in the big box stores. Customer service was also excellent from design help to follow up orders for parts. I do have two cautions for future buyers based on my experience: 1) Make sure you know the EXACT dimensions of your closet before ordering and be aware of any trim that may get in the way of the boards that hang down as part of the system. I took a risk because my closet was being built at the same time I ordered my EasyCloset. Though I thought I had the correct dimensions, I ended up being off by about 1/2 an inch and having a piece of trim that interfered. I had to reorder several pieces and since everything is custom cut, nothing could be refunded. 2) Though the system is marketed as being DIY, it definitely is not an easy installation and requires some level of patience and know-how (and hopefully some power tools). I did most of the installation myself, but thankfully I had contractors on site to help me through some of the more difficult parts. I am fairly certain if I had been on my own I would have thrown in the towel and just hired someone to do the full install for me. read more

I cannot ever remember a more enjoyable, more efficient, pleasurable experience than the one we had with Easy Closets! I was referred to this company by a friend of mine in the construction industry. He uses this company for all of his new construction and renovation projects, and since he specializes in high end, million dollar plus homes to affluent individuals, I followed his advice. My wife and I entered the Easy Closet webpage , began looking at the specs which turned out to very easy to use, especially when we were connected with a wonderful, very knowledgeable and exceptionably pleasant woman named Roz Ross. Roz took us by the hand, answered all questions quickly and helped us create the perfect closet just by providing her with the measurements of our space. Unbelievably, we began the process on a Friday, mulled it over during the weekend, connected with Rox(she provided direct phone and e mail info) on Monday, tweaked it a little with her continued guidance and great suggestions. Unbelievably, we ordered it that Monday, they assembled it on Tuesday in Michigan (made in the USA !) , shipped it on Wednesday, and we received a call from the trucking firm(also a great vendor) that they wanted to deliver it on Friday !!!! Since we were not going to be home on Friday, we mutually arranged for the delivery to be on the following Thursday. Had we been home, the entire process would have been 5 days !!!!!!! The only bump we had was one of the drawers was damaged in the shipping. OK, we thought, this is where we get jerked around, probably have to pay for another drawer, or prove we didn't damage it ourselves....but we called the amazing Roz, she ordered another one, no questions asked (we sent her a picture) after she had already reported it to production....the same day,we heard from a nice, very efficient person, Saray Ortiz, in Customer Service who informed us we would have a new drawer within a couple of days, no charge, even for additional shipping (entire process was free shipping) So. I have typed for too long, my first ever review, but an accurate description of a perfect retail experience orchestrated by Roz and Saray ! Not just pleasant, efficient, and satisfying way above our expectations , but as the name says, EASY. Tom and Shannon read more

After researching various closet organizer systems from different companies I decided to go with Easy Closets because of their great web design tool (head and shoulders above any other I had experimented with), price, and great online reviews. I ordered a fairly large design for a hall closet in my house and when it arrived (free shipping) I could not believe how well packed all the components were. Instructions were clear and installing the closet was indeed easy with the toughest parts of the install being cutting the steel brackets used for mounting the unit and making sure of the locations of the studs in the walls. Yes, that first installation went so well that I ordered units for another 3 closets in my house, one of which was a walkin closet that was 3 units by itself. Dmitri Benos assisted me with this order and was brilliant with his help. Free shipping on 26 boxes of components was quickly handled and now 3 weeks later I have completed all the installs and I cannot be happier with the results. These things really are that good! I found Easy Closets customer service to be one of the best experiences I've ever had with an online retailer. In fact, in this last install I decided I wanted to slightly change the configuration and it would require getting another shelf. I emailed Dmitri and got back email from customer service telling me they would ship the shel to me immediately at no extra cost to me. Wow, that is going the extra mile for something they had every right to charge me for! Are there any cons to my experience? Sure, I had a few but they were all minor in the extreme. My one biggest issue is that the unit material is pressed wood but I can't fault Easy Closets for that. I knew what I was getting when I ordered it and to have gotten solid wood units, which very few organizer companies even sell, would have cost MUCH more. In the end you get what you pay for and what I paid for here was the highest quality you could expect given the budgeting involved. I hope this review helps in others making their own decisions. For myself, I still have 2 more closets I will probably organize using Easy Closet solutions... read more

We have ordered two separate closets from EasyClosets over the course of the last two years, both closets being over $1K, but under $3K. They are FABULOUS! Of course, they are a 'Do It Yourself' assembly and aren't a 'buy and forget' item. If you are a handyish person and have someone to help, then the job shouldn't take more than a couple of days. Our first closet was around $2.5K and was large, a combo of drawers, shelves and hanging. It took us awhile to get the hang of it and to be honest, it did fall of the wall after a few weeks, but that should be attributed to my husband failing to listen to his nagging wife to make sure the support rail was OVERLY supported. It was easy to put back up since the construction was so sturdy that the failure didn't do any damage except to the wall - almost two years later and it is still good! Our second closet was just completed and took us at least 1/2 the time, in part because we are better at the instructions and in part because the parts and instructions from EasyClosets have improved in the past two years. This closet was around $1.5K and could not have been done even from Home Depot for less. We are extremely happy with EasyClosets and their customer service. The price cannot be beat for the quality of construction and the look is very similar to the more expensive California Closet types. However, if you are not a DIY'er or instructions scare you, then you won't be happy with receiving 20+ boxes with varying sizes and hardware - very intimidating. We loved the project and more than that, loved that we could do it in less than a day for about a third of the price of a professional install. Great customer service as well, don't let the odd review scare you - I am sure that the install was more than a hassle for some people, but then DON'T ORDER A DIY project! Thanks to Dmitri at EasyClosets for such a smooth order (we goofed on quite a few of the measurements and had to to a revision at the last minute!) read more

Great experience overall with a few learning lessons. We replaced a small walk in closet with non-floating shelves, clothes hangers and dresser. - Design and ordering: excellent... we were going to have a local handyman come in and he quit before he started when I asked if he had any design sketches. I easily created and played with the layout we wanted with the online tool, then talked with a designer who tweaked a few things - she was outstanding. - Install: I'm not handy and it showed. I made a mistake of .5" on measurement which forced me to reorder some parts (more on that later). If I had measured things accurately, this would have been a snap. The parts provided worked together nicely and only required some cutting because I measured wrong. One note: if you have baseboards or other trim, this can be a little tricky and that's where my install has taken some time (and it's not done yet). A little extra documentation could have been helpful on the trim side of things, but I'm guessing every case is different so take that into consideration. - Product quality: I was happy and surprised with the quality. The drawers were really nicely made and felt really solid. The soft-close rails were easy to install and turned out nicely. The shelves and other materials were heavy and it made a sore afternoon lugging things around. - Installation support: I was really impressed with the support I received. Particularly, Noah was amazing (I think I talked to him twice). He was really helpful reordering a couple parts, but more so he was empathetic about a couple mistakes I made on my part. Parts were shipped out very fast. All in all, I would highly recommend EasyClosets if you don't mind doing a little work. Tip #1 would be make sure to do lots of measurements beforehand... some walls aren't flat I've found out. Tip #2 is consider the entire finished job... trim can be a pain so make sure to read the directions and call if you have questions.. read more

I did go with EasyClosets. Zack was my designer. I already kind of knew what I wanted, and he was great at answering all my questions. The boxes were shipped within a week. The arrived by ABF freight. I tipped the guy $20 to put both double sized pallets it in my garage. I then took inventory. I was missing box number 12 of 25 and there were a few pieces that were damaged. I emailed support with the item numbers and pictures. Saray replied apologizing for issue and said the replacement pieces were ordered. I had no trouble with support at all. It was very easy, and they responded almost immediately. The replacement pieces arrived via UPS in about a week. We removed the existing wire shelves in my closet and painted on the 1st weekend. On the second weekend we installed the EasyClosets pieces. Instructions were straightforward and the online videos were helpful. My design was for the floating type (vs the floor type). My closet has carpet and baseboards that I didn't want to remove to accommodate the floor type. We decided to raise it 3 inches higher than the recommended height. I'm glad we did because most of our shirts are only about 1 inched off the floor after we hung them up on the bottom rod of the double-hang sections. Assembling the closet did take all weekend. We were careful to follow the instructions and measure twice. I did have one small issue with a toggle bolt. One of them didn't have the "toggle" piece. The piece that flips perpendicular had come off and the screw holding the steal rail just spun. Never tightened. I had to remove all of the other screws I had already installed to replace that one toggle. So check for the "toggle" piece of the toggle bolt before screwing it into the wall. Overall the installation went well. I consider us relatively handy, so I would rate the job somewhere above easy to about medium difficulty. The quality is nice. We'll have to see how well it standsup to time. I've attached a few before and after pictures. read more

## Five Stars for Easy Closets and a HUGE Thank You to Anthony! From start to finish, our experience with Easy Closets was absolutely fantastic, and a significant part of that was thanks to our incredibly talented designer, Anthony. We recently decided to tackle the daunting task of organizing our master bedroom with a custom walk-in closet, and we couldn't be happier with the results. Anthony was a true professional. He listened attentively to our needs, asked insightful questions about our storage habits and preferences, and offered creative and practical solutions we hadn't even considered. He had a keen eye for maximizing space and ensuring everything would be easily accessible. The 3D renderings he provided were invaluable in visualizing the final product and allowed us to make informed decisions before a single piece was cut. The design process was smooth and collaborative. Anthony was patient with our questions and revisions, offering expert advice while always respecting our vision. He truly went above and beyond to ensure the final design was not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing and perfectly tailored to our style. The quality of the materials and the ease of the installation process (which we opted to do ourselves) were also impressive. The instructions were clear, and the pieces fit together perfectly. But truly, Anthony's expertise and dedication made the entire experience exceptional. He transformed a cluttered and frustrating space into a beautiful and highly organized walk-in closet that has made our daily routine so much easier. We now have a place for everything, and everything is in its place! If you're considering a custom closet solution, we wholeheartedly recommend Easy Closets, and if you have the opportunity to work with Anthony, you are in for a treat. He is a true asset to their team and a design wizard! Thank you, Anthony, and Easy Closets, for making our closet dreams a reality! read more

The best part about EasyClosets is the online tool. I tried many, many other closet designing websites, but their design tools were either clunky and extremely complicated or they wouldn't let me design the closet exactly as I wanted it. Our walls were irregular, and the EasyCloset software was attentive to that. I'm 19 years old, and I designed and built this closet. And it looks fantastic. I can't stop going in to my parent's closet to admire it, haha. I don't usually write reviews, but I really appreciate EasyClosets, so I'll even make a yelp account for this. EasyClosets called when they saw the design before they shipped it, just to make sure that the clearance we had was exactly what we wanted, because it could have been tight. I knew exactly what I had designed though. It was very nice of them to do that. My family helped with the whole process, which I wouldn't have been able to do by myself. When the parts came, they came all mixed up and in like 20-some different boxes. We sorted them per box and left the labels on the things that came in that box so we could figure out what they were later. Our design had four different walls. We started off with one wall to get the feel for the instructions and the process. The instructions are general for everyone, which was confusing at first. Afterwards, you get the hang of it. At one point, we cut a rail too short and we were low on some screws. We called, and they sent us the parts at no extra cost. We finished building it - it wasn't a walk in the park, but it looks so beautiful. It was exactly what we wanted. At the end, we were even missing some extra L brackets to finish bolting it up to the wall. Again, we called; again, they immediately put in the shipping order. We're so happy with the way it looks. I want to personally thank the EasyCloset design team for letting us design exactly what we wanted, and for having very understanding customer support services. read more

I recently completed my second experience with Easy Closets and I must say, I love Easy Closets! I'm a DIY'er so I designed our closet layouts, but always had their designers double check things before ordering. (You can always have their designers create a design for you free of charge as well). Then, I was blown away when two closets of material (22 boxes in total) showed up on my door step 5 days later! And everything is packaged extremely well! That said, if anything does happen to get damaged or needs tweaking (form a design mishap) Easy Closets is there to make it right! I had one corner of a panel suffer a minor ding and Easy Closets was willing to rush out a new panel. I ultimately decided it wasn't going to be seen and it didn't affect the function, so I opted to keep it and work with it. Next, is the organization and installation process. All the boxes are numbered and labeled, and Easy Closets provides excellent instructions on how to assemble everything, the proper order to assemble, and tips and tricks for making larger projects more efficient. The quality of the materials and the ability to customize the unit sizes and function of the Easy Closets organizers makes them a superior option over accepting whats available at your local Big Box Retailer. If you are looking for a great closet/storage organization option at reasonable prices, and you are a DIY'er or can hire a reasonably competent handyman Easy Closets is a great option. I am in the process of ordering a custom shelving unit for a storage closet and a custom shoe shelf unit for the garage....and I plan to use Easy Closets for our Master Closet next! I worked with Thomas Quidore on my most recent order and he was great...and I will use him for future orders, however, I'm sure there are many willing and able designers at Easy Closets. Check out their website....EasyClosets.com or give them a call and get organized! Good Luck! read more

In a word....amazing. My husband and I were looking to get our master bedroom, laundry room and pantry closets done in our new home. We went to California Closets and were quoted over 20K!!! I thought no way can I pay that much money for a closet, Ill just go to Home Depot or Lowes and get something there. Thankfully my husband found out about easyclosets.com before I did that. We used the online tool and entered the measurements from our walls. Within an hour I had 2 out of the 3 rooms done (the 3rd required help from a pro there at easyclosets). After some adjustments made from the professional, they know what they are doing, we were ready to order. Shipping was fast, UPS man said it was the largest delivery he ever did (79 boxes iirc). BUT it had EVERYTHING! Drawers, rods for hanging, pants hangers, shelving, a hamper, list goes on! I was so nervous about install, but after watching a video everything clicked for me and I was able to get 80% of it done by myself. My 15 year old daughter decided to help pitch in too and things went very quickly once that happened. My last room to go took me almost a month before I was able to start it. As I was finishing up the one wall I realized I was sent one extra cam shelf too big and missing the smaller one. I actually had my doubts thinking that we waited to long to install and were past a guarantee date. However easyclosets took care of it for me. They sent me out the correct sizes, and were so kind to offer help when I figured out we personally made a mistake. I cannot express how impressed I am with this business. We saved over 15K, and if I EVER need to do anything with closets again I know they are the ONLY place I will go to. Very highly recommended, thank you so much easyclosets for making my life a little bit simpler and upholding excellent customer service! read more
