I haven't lived in Texas for many years. My dad was an Army officer and we traveled the world. I had an opportunity to go to Dallas to see the American Airlines training facility for stewardesses sponsored by Cramer Travel. It was a short trip. We were there one night and two days. Back then flight attendants were called stewardesses. There were plane cabins in multiple locations to train for fires, loss of cabin pressures and evacuations over water. I did get to see several trainees get wet jumping down a slide into a a swimming pool. I stayed at The Four Seasons in Dallas. The room was very nice. They had a four star French restaurant that served a delicious bay scallop salad that none of my friends would eat. The 4 course lunch sponsored by Cramer Travel was excellent although most of my friends wouldn't eat the foods except for dessert. They loved the crepes. Afterwards we went to Neiman Marcus. The store was very luxurious and very expensive. The cheapest thing we found was a pen for $50. Yikes! Everything is big in Texas. Several of us decided to get a cab and go to Billy Bob's. It was the world's largest honky tonk. They had a mechanical bull that some folks rode too. We met in the lobby of The Four Seasons at 5 for a taxi ride to Billy Bob's. While in the lobby, my friend Estha and I were having a cocktail and talking when a young lady brought us a second cocktail from two men sitting at the bar with business suits and those tall cowboy hats. These hats weren't the standard size that's common. These were very tall. We waved thank you and they nodded. Pretty friendly and not in our faces. The other ladies showed up and we proceeded to get in the taxi. It was crowded. We went to Billy Bob's. After arriving we all set an agreed time to meet up to get back to the hotel. It was a long drive to Billy Bob's. Estha, Ruthy, Gerri and I walked around sipping on beers. There is a side of the bar where people ride in on horseback. It was cool to see and if you don't mind the smells and ok to watch for a while. We went back to the front entrance to get a taxi back to the hotel. Several of the ladies wanted to stay so the four of us left and went back to the hotel. We had to be up and in the lobby by 6 am so staying out late with a hangover didn't seem like fun. Ruthy and Gerri went to their room. Estha and sat in the lobby. There was a room where we could hear music coming from but we didn't venture in. While sipping a cocktail, the waitress brought us two more compliments of two men at the bar. We looked and waved thank you and these two guys got up and came over to introduce themselves. They wore jeans, cowboy boots with spurs, western shirts and the common size cowboy hats. Estha and I agreed we wouldn't do anything stupid like stay up late. Haha! Those guys wanted to dance and of course we didn't know how to two step. I learned quickly and had a good time. When midnight came, we said our goodbyes and parted ways. Texas was wonderful. We had a great time.

You gotta dig through piles though. - restaurant food portions were huge! Hubby and I could share a plate - BBQ: juicy, fall off the bone, with a pink ring from being smoked, and a little bit of char. - large, affordable housing with large yards - lots of job opportunities. Many people in the medical field were moving to Texas for jobs. The worst: - lack of snow/ice management. It was dangerous driving after a snow/ice storm I enjoyed living in Lubbock, Texas. The tech also suggested replacing wiper blades and I know...these places are "always overpriced" Sure, they were, but you're paying for convenience. Right? My appointment was scheduled for 1:20 p.m., and through pure operator error (completely my fault), I accidentally went to the wrong location. I had went to the Texas department of transportation. Then I drove to McKinney location only to realize my appointment wasn't there either it was in Plano, about 30 minutes away. Talk about panic mode! I had been waiting for this appointment since last August and thought I had completely blown it. By the time I arrived in Plano, I was late, stressed, desperately needed a restroom, and was convinced I'd be marked as a no-show. That's when I met Ms. Mona. She greeted me with kindness, directed me to the kiosk, and when my ticket showed "No Show," she didn't just send me away. She calmly suggested I speak with the representative at the window because they might still be able to work me in, even though they were very busy. That little bit of encouragement gave me hope. Then I met Ms. Esther, and she was nothing short of an angel. Everything that could go wrong seemed to go wrong. My utility bill had the wrong address, so I had to email new proof of residency. I realized my vehicle registration was still in my car, so I had to run back outside to get it. Then I needed my veteran's proof of service...another trip to the car. I was definitely getting my steps in that afternoon! To top it all off, I accidentally emailed my documents to the wrong email address because I forgot part of the address and even misspelled "department." I was rushing, overwhelmed, and honestly on the verge of a panic attack. Through every bit of it, Ms. Esther never once acted frustrated. No eye rolls. No impatience. No attitude. She was patient, professional, encouraging, and genuinely kind. She gave me until 2:40 p.m. to get everything submitted, and thanks to her grace, I finally got checked in at 2:49 p.m. My number was called at 3:28 p.m., and I walked out with my new Texas driver's license at 4:09 p.m. Looking back, every single problem that day was my own doing. Had I slowed down, double-checked the address, and organized my paperwork before leaving home, the appointment would have been smooth. But instead of making me feel worse, the staff treated me with compassion and respect. The facility itself was clean, with plenty of parking, clean restrooms, ample seating, and friendly employees throughout the building. Thank you, Ms. Mona, for giving me hope when I thought I'd lost my appointment. Thank you, Ms. Esther, for your patience, your professionalism, and your kindness. You probably don't realize it, but you saved me from a panic attack, a migraine, and a whole lot of tears that afternoon. Customer service like yours deserves to be recognized. Thank you for turning one of the most stressful days into one I'll actually remember with gratitude

Thought I would try her company. I received a cost breakdown, the total was $3400. I noticed a $250 service charge and questioned what the charge was for. Apparently she charges $250 to do what takes about 10 minutes of actual work. I went to register my vehicle yesterday took me 20 minutes and I paid $2800 so the title girl was trying to collect $600 from me to do what takes 20 minutes. VERY SHADY!! Buyer BEWARE!!!

Who the heck writes a review for a government center? I do...and let me tell you...this place…read moredoesn't suck as bad as you think it will. Sure its not fun to go and stand in line to get your plates, registration or other government related business done, but you have to sometimes. The great thing about this place is, they seem to move people along pretty quickly and get you in/out and back on your way. Think "under 20 min" type of fast! Also, the times I've been here, I've never seen any of the employees just standing around, not helping, while one window is open...and everyone is just STARING and the lazy employees standing around (looking at you post office). No..instead you have several windows open of people who are happy to help you with whatever process you need, and friendly enough to engage in conversation distracting enough to make the time fly by. Props to whoever is hiring and training these government workers. Tip: do be sure to bring in all your documents including vehicle insurance if you're getting a new registration sticker. Also don't forget this is a government building so leave those kids and firearms in the car! Overall, I don't dread going to this place because I know I'll be out quickly and I won't wait in line for an ungodly amount of time. Enjoy!
