I've stayed here for two years, and it's actually very convenient and quiet. There's no management on site since they're actually on campus (well, very close to Umich), but the maint always come in very fast after I've called for anything. The neighbors are quiet, but I did have a neighbor that turned into a sex maniac and they were having sex all the time and I really hoped that they could get a new bed since it's beyond annoying.. haha.. especially since most of my neighbors are quiet.
I stayed at the first floor, but it's actually the basement since the building is situated at a sloped site. There's a short cut to McDonald at the back of the apartment, and I think most of the time me appearing out of no where from behind the McDonald garbage can is a scary thing for most of the drive-through cars... You can take #22 bus outside of the apartment to go to North campus, or you can take #4 bus to go to central campus. There are restaurants, bookstore, grocery store in the plaza next to the apartment.
Overall I had a good experience there, but the building is aged so the facility is somewhat old.. :P
My rent for a one-bedroom was about $725 in 2011, and it became $755 in 2013.. not a big difference.. you also get a discounted price if you stay with them longer (and that's what I did). Also the lower floors are cheaper than the upper ones, but I do think it's better to stay at the upper floors with a better view... I also heard some people moved from the first floor to 2nd or 3rd floors for like a $30-40 increase of rent. read more
