On the second floor, there's a nice shuffle board and pool table as well as a media room too! Safety is a high priority here with access only being granted by residents. There is ButterflyMX available to grant people access to garage or the front door with a video camera available so you can confirm the person you are letting in. The floor plan D is spacious with brand new equipment and includes washer, dryer and is pet friendly! Beekman opened in December so everything is quite new and there is 1 month free with our 13 month lease. There's assigned garage parking for a fee which is quite expensive but the parking is unique in that the building is built around the parking garage. This means that you'll be able to park on the same level as your apartment unit. There is no concern about noise at the moment! You are also allowed 15 days of guest parking per month. The leasing office staff - Michelle and Aaron have been great, reliable and so responsive any time we had any questions or concerns. Aaron was especially considerate - I had just gotten in from a 6 hour drive from Pittsburgh and my cats were feeling anxious and constrained. He noticed this and offered to let them out of their carriers for a bit in their office while we did the apartment walkthrough. I highly recommend working with them! Beekman on Broadway is one of a few buildings that are planned to be built in this area, so it is up and coming! Beekman is currently doing a referral bonus of $1000 as well! While the apartment is on the expensive side, I can definitely see why the price is justified! Hope this review is helpful!

My thoughts after staying for 2 weeks: -super convenient…read morelocation, can walk anywhere to restaurants, parking garage, super markets, etc -Really convenient to not have to carry around keys (it's by code) -Nice colored mugs and utensils that are necessary -loud music plays on every weekend night and its hard to fall asleep (especially on Sunday nights which is right before a work day! It ends by 10:30pm the latest on most days) -the lights by the bed were not thought out and the switch is far up where you have to get up to turn it off instead of being able to turn it off when lying down -there is a lot of homeless on almost every corner. Sometimes they will ask you things or make comments so beware that you might not always feel safe if you are a female and alone

Pros: the room here was quite nice for the rate. Everything seemed clean enough…read more Cons: literally everything else. As others have noted, this place is just weird. Firstly, reserving a room and uploading my info was just all around weird and confusing. The keypad was also strange (it's really low, so you can barely see the numbers while homeless people come and ask you for money). The lack of any employees anywhere is bonkers. There's literally no information anywhere, so I was just guessing at what to do half the time. And when I got stuck dealing with the elevator, I had to text some random people (seemed like in India??), wait 5 minutes. Rinse. Repeat. They told me I could street park, which you cannot because all cars are towed if there between 3-6am (a police officer walking by told me that). There's a parking garage nearby, but I also had to figure that out myself. WiFi was spotty, and the people I was texting in India weren't much help. I was told there was no gym and then was told there was. Seemed nice but found out about it too late. Check out is at 10:30, which is fine, but I almost got locked out of the lobby where my bag was. They quite literally deactivate your door code at 10:29am. Thank god for the cleaning staff, who also think this whole place is sketchy AF. In summary: clean but weird, confusing and honestly a tad sketchy. This whole concept is just a non-starter for me, and just a liability waiting to happen. I suggest you avoid it. The downsides are too great.

Okay. We're in for a ride here because there is so much to get off my chest. I have lived in Cabrio…read moreProperties' Corner House Lofts for 1 year and can I say, it has been a HORRIBLE experience and want to save others the stress. The place is filthy. The carpets are stained and dirty, there are crumbs and dirt everywhere, and it really smells awful in the common areas. The communal washer/dryers are either caked in mold and hair or broken. Some make horrid squeaking noises, others make your clothes drenched and don't spin, and the rest are filthy. The laundry rooms are also disgusting. The staff are rude and incompetent. Every time you call for help, they lie, gaslight, and are incredibly rude. Brittany made me cry. Jewell lied to us about our lease agreement. Terrible customer service. Maintenance requests are rarely resolved. I requested they fix our dripping shower. They said "you're actually not turning it off all the way." Girl. It's still dripping even after you turned the knob as hard as you could. We aren't stupid. The renovations are done so badly. The cabinets didn't come with handles, I had to get them myself. We had to waterproof our own shower because it was flooding the bathroom and maintenance didn't do anything to help. So now for the real tea. I noticed a roach and killed it, then put in a maintenance request when I found a baby. I then started tearing apart the kitchen to find where they were coming from - turns out, they were coming from a crevice in the doorway (surviving on hallway crumbs). I called emergency maintenance and they didn't help. I killed 30 roaches in different life stages and went to go sleep on my friend's floor because... roaches. In the morning, maintenance had done nothing. I called, they said maintenance would come that afternoon to set down traps, and then they didn't. They also said they called the exterminator and couldn't reach them. We called and immediately the exterminator reached us and said he'd schedule us. Then we get an email at 9:30 AM the next day (while we are all at work) saying the roach people are coming that day from 11-2 and we need to clear our everything from our kitchen and bathroom. My roommate called to ask if we could be on the later end of that since we received no call and weren't sure we'd be able to get the cat out and pack up our whole kitchen in time. Shannon (Cabrio employee) then called us to say "good news! we moved the appointment to tomorrow" and my roommate said "I specifically asked you not to move it to tomorrow" and Shannon gaslights my roommate, saying "calm down, I'm trying to help you and you did ask me to move it." She was so rude. At this point we are both missing work and really stressed. I call the exterminator - he tells us that actually the appointment had NEVER been scheduled for that day, Cabrio had messed up the day when they emailed us and then Shannon tried to lie to us to make it sound like she was doing us a favor by rescheduling the appointment. GIRL. Anyway, maintenance finally came to set traps after 48 hours. Not only was the place so gross that we got roaches, they were completely incompetent and rude and unhelpful. Now, for more tea. As I was cleaning out our kitchen cabinet, I found the piece of our shower that's supposed to go under the door to keep it from letting water out. Funnily enough, ours didn't have one so I bought one on Amazon. When putting it on, I had to cut it because the shower door was put on so crooked that I couldn't get it on. So, when "renovating" these people put the shower together wrong, the door was crooked, so they just tossed the piece that wouldn't fit under our sink and called it a day. Final tea. I got out of bed one day and the floor was wet. Gross. I call, maintenance goes next door and fixes our neighbor's AC unit which was flooding into our apartment. Turns out it had been flooding for quite some time because my dresser was covered in mold. I got them to schedule a carpet cleaning service, and they were very nice. Jewell also refunded me for the bookshelf, which was cool. But I missed an entire day of work because Cabrio refuses to do proper maintenance on their AC units. Anyway, I hope this serves as a cautionary tale. Corner house lofts is so expensive and really gross. Totally not worth it, save yourself the stress and just go somewhere nicer/farther and cheaper.

I've lived here about a year now as an undergrad student at U-M and it's amazing. As of late 2016…read moreit is under new management by Cabrio Properties. (And this is a completely honest and unsolicited review.) Pros: - Location. It's practically downtown and is a 4 minute walk to the Diag. Right across from North Quad. Relatively safe neighborhood, although I'd suggest being careful about wandering around the area super late. - Maintenance. Requests are submitted online through the Cabrio Properties portal and they respond within reasonable time. - Electricity and heat are charged directly to you; you only pay for what you use. - Free laundry on each floor!! This is an amazing perk. - Place overall is relatively new; bedrooms/bathroom/kitchen are in good condition. - Cable TV with DVR included - Internet is included and is decently fast. Just make sure you place your router in a good spot. - Fully furnished Cons: - No package room or front desk to take your packages for you. - While there's free laundry on each floor, know that not all the floors have the same machines and some laundry rooms are way more disgusting than others. They do seem to clean it though when they come to vacuum the hallways. Great thing is that you can just go to another floor to do laundry if you don't like your floor's :) - The single elevator is suuuper slow. - Some bedrooms are pretty tiny. Units overall aren't terribly spacious, but for the price it's still amazing for being practically on campus. - Sometimes overly-sensitive smoke alarms - Agree with previous reviewer; doors are often propped open... some people smoke in the alleyway and the smell rises into stairwell when the door's open. Overall, I think Corner House is a good deal. It's close, seems to be one of the more affordable high-rises, and is great if you want a slightly quieter neighborhood away from south campus. Highly recommended!

I'm a college student who moved in this year, and living here has been a nightmare…read more While the rooms are a decent size and the kitchen is new and nice, the management issues outweigh all the benefits of living here. After just one semester, here are the biggest problems: 1. Constant fire alarms The alarms go off multiple times every week for no legitimate reason. It disrupts everyone in the building since the alarms go to every unit and every bedroom. Management has done nothing to solve this, and it's become a huge inconvenience for everyone. 2. The package system is very disorganized I waited months for packages. One that I ordered in August didn't show up until December, and another never arrived at all. When I asked about it, management actually admitted they don't track packages, and I've literally watched delivery drivers leave items wherever they want, even leaving many on the floor by the front door. The package app barely works, and I even got pickup emails for packages that weren't mine. Don't try to ask any of the staff for help. They really won't try to make an effort. 3. Elevators are always breaking down For a brand new building, this is completely unacceptable. There are 19 floors, and people keep having to take the stairs. My friend has been stuck in the elevator multiple times on her way to class and needed to call someone to get out. Management is definitely aware of this and still hasn't done anything about it. 4. Sooo many false charges They attempted to charge me for fees I didn't owe, and it took weeks of calling their owner to get it corrected. They sent me emails about it for weeks and would keep bothering me with texts. 5. No consequences for people breaking rules On my floor and others, residents leave bags of overflowing trash and boxes outside their rooms while the trash chute is literally 10 feet away. The lease actually says there's a $50 fine for this, yet management never enforces it. It's disgusting. 6. Amenities are a joke Halfway through the semester they removed the paper cups from the "free" coffee machine for "eco-friendly" purposes. I guess the $2k a month from every resident just doesn't cover a few paper cups. 7. Staff's dog roaming around the lobby I'm cool with dogs, but the staff's dog is constantly wandering the lobby and following residents around. I can't imagine this makes everyone feel comfortable when in the lobby. The staff lacks so much respect for their residents. One of my friends told me their dog actually followed them up to their room. I don't understand how that even happens. It's unprofessional and inconsiderate. At this point, the only good thing about living here is being close to some nice places and State Street. Parking is an extra $300 a month, on top of the already outrageous rent, and the utilities are a couple hundred per person that aren't even included in that rent. If you're a college student thinking this place seems great because it's new and in a good spot on campus, don't fall for it. Management is so careless and inconsistent. You can definitely find something better and cheaper.
