However, my 15 year son had an awful experience. He said they ruined his hair. He asked for a hard part... He didn't get one. Looked like they put a bowl across in his head and cut around it. And the fade was mediocre at best.

Honestly can't believe they all let people roll out like that charging $35 and not even take card. I had to walk down the street to get a bill broken since this establishment that only takes cash, had no cash. I feel like I've got road rash all the way around my head from the clipper and razor. I created a yelp account JUST NOW FOR THIS REASON. I was honestly so mad I had to tip the man just knowing my girlfriend was gonna laugh her ass off. Save the 35 and stick your head in the lawn mower.

The beard was cleaned up nicely, and the fade came out looking sharp. The service cost $45, which I think is fair--especially considering many other barbers charge even more for similar work. I couldn't…read morebelieve that such a down-to-Earth young man was not only extremely professional, personable, and knowledgeable; he absolutely shatters the stereotype that Millennials are all lazy, unmotivated, and uninspired. This young entrepreneur has what Nassim Taleb refers to as, "Soul in the Game." I have had multiple people, from friends and family to complete strangers, stop to tell me how amazing my haircut and beard time looked! My Uncle is and extremely famous stylist, who has cut and styled hair for clientele that are of the the highest echelon of the upper crust of society, and he was absolutely blown away. Bryan and his chic Barber Shop are an absolute gem, a desert rose to people like me who have gone from barber to stylist, to hairdresser in the hopes of finding someone both with the skills and love of the practice to create genuinely elegant and alluring results. This fantastic place offers $500 upscale haircut masterpieces for a small fraction of the price. I generously tip Bryan every time, lest my all time favorite small business / sole proprietorship disappear like so many other places I love. TL,DR: You will not find a better Barber Shop, a more skillful and passionate stylist, unless you're willing to go downtown and pay 10-15 times the price at a high-end celebrity stylist (assuming you can even get an appointment with the latter). Tip generously, we need places like this and people like Bryan to stick around!

I grew up in Lemont. But with fewer and fewer actual trained "barbers" around, I started noticing that my haircuts from places like Great Clips were not the same. Wayne would ask, "How would you like it cut today?" The salon girls would say "I see you had a #6 cut the last time you were here". What does that actually even mean? I also started noticing that from time to time I left the salon with a cowlick. This never ever happened with a cut from Wayne. After too many poor cuts from salons, now I only go to Wayne. He greets me by my name when I enter, and during the course of the cut we talk about happenings around town, people we know in common, a bit of local politics, sometimes the weather, etc. It's a lot like the experience in the barber shops in town from when I grew up here.
