Very well organized, conversational, and professional barber. Always gets my haircut right for a fair price, have never left disappointed.

I just moved to Orland Park, and so I was on the hunt for a new barber. I just went to Phils…read moretoday, and it was great! I have been a long time victim of the chain chop shops and feel sorry for those who had too see the back of my head afterwards... Admittedly, there's a strong willed cowlick back there, but hey, isn't that their job to handle that kind of thing? Also, went to some salons (only scary the first time) and the quality is high, but so is the price and the time it takes. Phils has: 1. No appointments, just a sign up sheet, so the stylists move fast. 2. Phil and his cool lady stylists are all friendly and engaged in what they're doing (Can't stand the bored attitudes and gloomy spirits of most of the chain ladies) 3. Busy, and long lasting business, means good quality. 4.Good skilled stylists. Maria was great, shes super friendly and gave an awesome haircut in the time it takes Great Clips and with the quality of a salon. She even shaved the neck with a straight razor and trimmed my beard without missing a beat. She's genuinely engaged, not just talking to fill space. Whole experience was well worth it, and glad that I've found my new barber shop!

Went to Phils for years, there were several women that gave excellent haircuts. One issue that I…read morehad was the constant talk about Trump and the Republican party. I pretty much was able to ignore it. Phil has a tendency to focusing more on talking politics than on cutting clients hair, it got to the point where a client asked if he was on break because Phil was talking so much. He had about seven women working for him, now he's down to I believe three. Tendency years ago there were a couple people waiting with several women working but now very few people are going there and now you need an appointment. This last Saturday they were open and no customers. I wonder how they feel about Trump now.

I stepped in here late morning on a Wednesday. Two chairs open and ready to go. I was greeted and…read moreseated promptly by Candace (sp?). Typical questions that any barber would ask. I told her it was my first time in, and she seemed very pleased with that. They were playing good music (classic rock) which created a nice atmosphere. The decor is mostly Joliet and Chicago centric, though I didn't have the feeling I was in a sports-centric place like some chain competitors, and I thought it was cool that they had a lot of local knowledge in the room there. I mean, a Frank Lloyd Wright book was on the coffee table in the waiting area. Old-school comfortable barber chairs, like you don't find in today's salons. One nice thing about this particular barber was she didn't move the chair at all while I was on it. I'm not sure if it was on purpose or not, but I noticed it. Way more comfortable than some of the people that seem to whip you around on those things. She also didn't invade my "space" like most seem to do. You get the neck shave at the end with a hot towel, which is also a rarity these days and a nice touch. It was $23, which may be a little higher than some in the area for a men's cut. I feel like I got my money's worth here. It's one of the best cuts I've gotten in a long time, for sure in this town.

Stopped in after a bunch of people recommended coming here. Wasn't busy(when I walked in) which…read moremade for an easier chance to get a chair. Got my head shaved and my beard lined up. Since I have let my hair grow out for a bit longer than normal, the girl taking care of me had to use a trimmer to take some of the hair down. Which, was a good touch. Then, she took her time shaving my head. It was a pretty legit shave. I was dozing in and out with how relaxed I was. Talked tattoos, which, is always good. Then, I got my beard lined up. All in all, it was a very good experience. However, even after getting in the barber chair the proper way...I ended up stepping on the foot rest. I got chided. Besides not paying attention at the end and stepping off the rest, place was definitely a good spot. Oh, and, by the time I was leaving the shop definitely had a good few customers in it.
