The place is modern and stylish. The atmosphere is relaxing and intimate and fortunately I had a short waiting time. The best experience of the wait time was not surfing through my phone, or flipping through the pages of a GQ magazine. Oh no, it was being offered a refreshment and sipping a glass of whiskey. They offer other refreshments such as water and soda, but I decided to keep it classy. Maya was my stylist and let me just say that she is excellent at what she does. She asked how I typically style my hair and after a few back and forth comments, she went straight to work. I wanted a new look and let her take the wheel. The overall style was everything I was looking for. I was highly impressed with my experience that I also purchased some styling product she used to give my future styles that extra flare! Paula claimed to know how to…read morecut curly hair when it was evident she knew nothing about such a thing with the way she towel dried my hair and then combed it, two definite no-no's even for a novice. One would think she could possibly look into things ahead of time. Got about three inches cut off the top, which I didn't ask for, to the tune of $70 total, including tip; not to mention I wasn't even informed there was a surcharge for paying with a credit card... no big deal but still should have been informed as I had cash. And if you want to have a conversation with someone childlike -- "I tot I taw a puttytat" -- be sure to see her. Holy cow, I felt like I was on another planet. Definitely will not be returning... oh, even with the apologies for a half-hour delay due to a man's short haircut... they couldn't have called me ahead of time? And God forbid they ever answer the phone, period; called up there two days, numerous times, before ever getting a response to begin with. What an embarrassing establishment overall.
