Being an old skater, I started looking around for independent skate shops (not knowing if they still existed since I haven't been on a board since '89). I went to another shop first (not knowing about Pro Skateboard) and got a board built that was a complete hack job. I didn't want to go back there because A: they obviously don't know what they're doing, and B: I'd rather just find a reputable shop. That's where Pro Skateboard comes in. Found them online. Brought the lump of coal that the other shop called a skateboard in to see if they could fix it. The owner was there (Bob?) and a guy behind the counter (I forget your name, man.) they polished this thing into a diamond. No attempt at an up sell. No attitude about bringing a board in from another shop. They were friendly, professional, and highly skilled. Walked out with a board that is aces. So they didn't sell me this board- but anything my kid needs going forward will come from this shop. I'm also going to grab a board for myself to cruise around with the kid and I'll be buying it here. Prices are more than fair, but once again- the people here are what make the difference. Support your local businesses that do right by the customer. All the best to Pro Skateboard Shop.

Feet First has a large selection of skateboards from Element and others. They also sell swimwear as well and is a great place to pick-up a new pair of boardshorts for the summer. I enjoy shopping at Feet First even though I am way out of the age demographic that Feet First is going after because I figure "I was only young once but I can be immature for a life time!". I really liked the last wetsuit I put on and bought it without checking the price online or anything because I didn't care at that point and wanted to support him and his shop whatever if its a few more dollars. Checked later online and it was $10 more online than I paid at Sunrise! Thanks Alfred! I just last night came up with an idea as a Father's Day gift for my husband, a personalized tee shirt since he's about to start coaching. I knew getting a custom shirt two days before Fathers Day was a long-shot, but called this morning to ask. The woman who answered started to say that an order would typically have to be in before, but as she spoke she cut herself short in her sentence and said, actually, we have basic alphabet letters here and I'm sure we can figure something out. Why don't you come on in and we'll make it work." I was so thrilled. I headed over and everyone was happy to help. The young man working the letter ironing was also great (ironically, I noticed he was in the middle of creating the kids' tee shirts for the league my husband will be coaching)...he was happy to stop what he was doing, went to find me a good tee shirt to use, made suggestions on what would look nice, and finished the shirt in minutes. Lastly, because of the incredible sidewalk sale they have going on right now, the charge for this was so cheap I thought I heard him wrong. My husband's family are lifelong friends of the Lloyds, but the employees of course didn't know this about me while taking care of me today.
