It had been leaving a lot of water in heavy items, like towels, after the wash and spin cycles completed. During the attempted repair, the engine started to smoke. Quite a nuisance and unpredictable appliance, indeed. Dennis and his late mother had uses Dick's TV and Appliance. He said it has been there like 30 plus years and had done a good job. So before our trip, Dennis and I killed ourselves and carried the monstrosity down the stairs and shipped it off to Dick's. 2 days later, they call to say it is ready. Come get it. $120 buckaroos. OK UPDATE: 2 days later and 1 day to vacation departure and the f-in TV has the same problem, this time it does not turn on at all. WTF? Last week now that we are back and settled we garner up the energy to lug the monstrosity back to Dick's. They fix it again (loose connection, they say) and it works. No additional charge the 2nd time around. Yay! Dick's does it again!

OK I thought, maybe they performed some magical service that I hadn't anticipated. Nope, they just charged me for 13 HOURS of labor to do the work in the attached pictures. So it's one thing to take 3 weeks to service a saw, it's another to sneak some overcharges into the invoice, but to put down that it took 13 hours of labor to tune a saw tells me they're not actually up to speed on how to do this work. Or maybe just dishonest. You be the judge. And whatever you do, don't show up a minute after 4:30 or you'll get the heavy sighing/eye-rolling of a lifetime.
