i called Forest Appliance on 2 occasions roughly a week apart, i needed my dishwasher serviced . the nice lady said on both calls said "John" would be calling me back, he never did. So the problem got worst and it turns out its not economically feasible to repair it so i bought a brand new one. "John" should have called me back because, he missed out on a sale and i do support local business usually but not with Forest going forward. BTW a courtesy call would have been nice. read more

I was prompted by word of mouth to do business locally for appliance shopping, saying that it is the best way to go for long term service. The worst decision I have ever made. Buying the appliances with Forest was a pleasent experience. The front desk woman was very nice and made the process smooth. The issue I have had is that the washer keeps breaking! I feel like I have been sold a lemon and Forest appliance is not doing anything about it. I've called 4x for repairs for the same thing. We have been using them for 4 years and in that time have spent close to $5k on two refrigerators, a washer/dryer set and an over range microwave. We have also used them for a few services during that time. Originally it was a great place to do business with prompt and friendly service, but it's changed hands and the new owner is rude (while in your own home!) and acts as if he's doing customers a favor and says things like "you're last on my list" and "feel free to call someone else". Not a problem for us at all! We will be giving our business to Hunter Appliance going forward. read more

Everything in our kitchen is from Forest. Prices are better than box stores and the customer service and personal touch is amazing. Our oven sparked one Saturday morning and scared my wife half to death, called Forest and they had someone out within two hours. A mouse had chewed through our self clean function. My gas clothes dryer would rotate, but no heat. (It took 3 1/2 hours to dry the load of towels that was waiting when I realized that the burner had failed). I called Sears Home Service and was told that they could be out in 8 days. Called my local gas dealer - 9 days. Called Forest at 2 PM Yesterday. He(John) called me back at 7:15 PM and said he would be out this morning! In just under 2 hours, he basically rebuilt the dryer where it stood in my basement, cleaned the entire length of the exhaust vent, re-leveled the dryer and even scraped up the remnants of a gallon of liquid laundry detergent that I spilled over a year ago and had leaked under the dryer, all with a real pleasant and can-do attitude and for less than a third of the cost of a new dryer. What a pleasure to find someone like this. Five stars is not enough! read more

Have had a great experience, both buying at and having service performed by Forest Appliance. We purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator, from them, among other appliances. They got Frigidaire to replace the fridge for free with a new one after 6 years (way out of warranty) due to a ice maker problem that was present from the start and Frigidaire could never supply a permanent fix for (rusted a hole right through the back of the fridge). Prices have always been competitive with big box and their service tech knows his stuff. Service appointments are usually within a day or 2 of calling. Plan to purchase all our appliances there as long as they are around. read more

My dryer of four years was making a horrific noise. I was worried that I'd need a new one. I called Forest Appliance and got an appointment the very next morning. Derek from Forest Appliance came and had it fixed in 15 minutes. I also was very pleased that I wasn't charged an arm and a leg. I would highly recommend Forest Appliance. He told me he didn't have time for this, said it was 4:34 and turned the lights off. I was in shock at how rude this guy was. I will never ever give this guy my business. If you are a new customer considering using Forest appliance for the first time, based on my experience with the owner, John Forest, I highly suggest bringing your business elsewhere. I made a service call to Forest this afternoon in regards to a broken refrigerator and dishwasher. The call was responded to by owner John Forest this evening. John appeared agitated upon arrival and didn't respond to my wife saying hi as he entered our home. He treated us as if we were an inconvenience the entire time he was here with a standoffish attitude, even trying to get out of fixing the dishwasher by saying "he didn't know that was part of the service call since he's been on the road since 8 in the morning". Once he was done with his repairs, he announced they were complete as he was already trying to walk out the door. I quickly caught him and let him know that I appreciated the repairs but felt that his attitude was uncalled for and I was going to report this back to the landlords of the property in the morning. He smiled smugly and asked if I wanted to know his name. He then said "good luck with that" and walked out. It's my understanding that Forest Appliance does not typically respond to service calls this fast based on the experience of my friends and family who have used them in the past. So I'm guessing John only responded to our apartment so quickly tonight due to the fact that our landlords provide him a large amount of business and they are a high priority for him. But he clearly was unhappy about having to do so and could not hide his dissatisfaction. John apparently has no appreciation or respect for the customers that provide his livelihood - and thinks that since he is the owner of the company he is untouchable by customer complaints. As a customer service professional myself, I agree with the other reviewer on here who described John as "the most rude, arrogant, condescending, pompous ass they have ever listened to". read more

We were very pleased with Forest Appliance. The previous owners of our home had purchased all of their appliances from Forest, so when we decided to redo the kitchen we paid them a visit. We told John out budget and he worked to get all of our appliances, tax, and installation within the budget. He also recommended a local countertop shop, who we were pleased with as well. Forest Appliance did a great job coordinating the installation, so I was never without a refrigerator (they removed the other appliances and came back with the new ones after the countertops went in- all within one day). I found this place by accident. It is a downtown location with a few parking places in back. They have a lot of appliances in a small place. It is neatly arranged and they are competitively priced. I made a purchase on Wednesday and they delivered on Thursday. They called to verify on Wednesday nite and an hour before they actually delivered on Thursday. The two men who came were polite and neat. I will be back to purchase again. read more

Fridge wasn't cooling very well so called out Forest for a service call. Service tech was very knowledgeable and diagnosed the problem quickly. The part wasn't too expensive. Always cringe at the cost of the service call itself, but they were cheaper than my alternative. read more

John offers the best service and always with a smile. We have so much confidence whatever he recommends. He will never push you to buy if your appliance is worth fixing. He will never oversell if your purchasing. If you want good and timely service, look no further. Our freezer malfunctioned a couple of years ago on Labor Day weekend. When I noticed, I left a message hoping he might be able to schedule a Tuesday service call. John called and hour later and said he be by to look at it that day as he was concerned we would lose all our food by Tuesday. He fixed it (and very reasonably) on a holiday weekend. read more

I love using Forest Appliance. We just purchased a new washer/dryer set on their recommendation and we love them. We purchased all of our remodel appliances from them 8 years ago. For repairs they are responsive and very reasonably priced once appliance is out of warranty. It seems that we almost always have to call for fixes soon after delivery of a new washer or refrigerator no matter who we purchase from, but trying to get good, prompt repair service, including warranty service, from the big box stores is so terrible. Forest Appliance comes quickly and gets the work done. No calls to automated service departments and multiple repair people who never fix the problems. I think Forest Appliance is competitive with their product prices and no delivery or hauling away fee, at least in Pepperell--I'm glad we have such a convenient local appliance store. (I see a recent reviewer that is very unhappy with their service, that's too bad and I'm kind of surprised, but I've never had that problem.) read more
