I have had hypothyroidism for nearly 20 years and I have medicated with Levothyorixine, prescribed…read moreby my general practitioner. Despite being at the correct dose (per *some* bloodwork), I was regularly cold, sometimes anxious, quick to go from not hungry to starving, and sometimes lethargic (despite living a very active lifestyle). After just two appointments with Dr. Simms and additional biometric (blood and saliva) testing, we both came to the conclusion that not only was I working against my thyroid by way of the foods that I was eating, but I was also suffering from iron and vitamin D deficiency. Additionally, I had moderate hormonal imbalances. These weren't far-fetched, non-Western conclusion, but founded in more accurate interpretations and more complete biometrics. The "prescription" was a variety of supplements to address deficiencies and excesses. I appreciate that Dr. Simms did not push me to buy the supplements offered at her clinic, as this would have been a turn-off for me. Through some research, I was able to meet my nutritional and supplements needs in an affordable way. I have not yet had my biometrics re-run, but I know that I am better off. I sleep better, feel better (mood and energy), am no longer cold, and more relaxed. I highly recommend arranging for a consultation with her and bring any existing blood work results to support your discussion. Though she was not covered by my insurance, she was well-worth the cost. And, I was able to pay for my bills with my medical savings account.

Our first appointment was virtual and I found her to be very attentive and engaging. She allowed ample time to discuss my concerns and objectives where my health was concerned. She was able to set up a protocol which included supplements, diet & exercise. Along the way, I have found her to be available to me for any questions and concerns that I may have had and has always replied in a very timely fashion. Today marks one month exactly since I've been on the regimen and I am so pleased to say that my symptoms have improved tremendously! She truly cares about helping her patients resolve their issues and attain optimal health. If you are in search of a highly qualified and knowledgeable doctor to address your WHOLE health, I strongly recommend Dr. Simms.

The story goes something like this: I started feeling my foot go numb in spots and immediately…read morerealized it was sciatica rearing it's ugly head. So, like any not smart person, I waited several months before deciding to do anything about it. I asked around and was given a near rabid recommendation from a close friend to immediately seek the opinion of Dr. Black and Dr. Lina. By the time I hobbled in the door of their super inviting, friendly (shout out to Kat) and neat office on Wilson, I was twisted like a pretzel with muscle spasms and experiencing something akin to an 8/10 on the pain scale. Dr. Black and Dr. Lina worked collaboratively to troubleshoot a tricky and evasive root cause, deploying a mix of soft tissue work, acupuncture and muscle stim to get things settled down as quickly as possible. This treatment plan was tied together with a heavy dose of active listening/plan iteration and level of empathy that can only be achieved from working so closely with patients in extreme pain. Simply put, they know their stuff and I'm better for having found them. It's also worth noting that they seem to have a sizeable number of folks who bring the whole family in to maintain their health, grandparents all the way down to the kids. I can see why and I'd recommend you do the same!

In addition to being super competent, they know how to listen, ask the right questions, and show that they care about you. Too many in this business, care more about how much money they make, than about their patients welfare, but not these two wonderful doctors. They instead say, you should get better in "a week or two" so don't bother to make another appointment unless there is no sufficient improvement. I have no hesitation recommending their services.
