I've tried all the laundries in Oneonta, and there's no question East End Laundry is the absolute best. The place is always, and I mean ALWAYS clean and orderly. In fact, I've traveled all 50 states, and this laundry is probably the CLEANEST I've ever seen. The machines always work, including the two change machines, and there is even an attendant on duty until about three p.m. to politely help you in the rare event that anything does go wrong. It's always been quiet when I was there, which is nice, and they have a laundry sink, restrooms, and vending machines too. The cafe, meanwhile, appears to be a work in progress. I have yet to see it open, but that's okay with me since I'm just there to wash clothes.
It is obvious that the owners of this place have an old-fashioned view of customer service, and take pride in the business they run. This is an attitude that is becoming increasingly rare these days, as most people know. So if you hate doing laundry like I do, it's especially nice to find a decent place like this to do the job. And there's a car wash next door to clean your car too while you wait!
My ONLY complaint, and the reason I didn't award them Five Stars, is that the laundry room is just a little too small, with less than ideal walking space to get by people putting in or pulling their wash out of the machines. I've been there when it's crowded and it wasn't very pleasant (I hate crowds). So I always make it a point to get there in the early afternoon to avoid all that.
