The entire crew including Alex, the owner and all the girls who work in the store are very friendly and go out of there way to help you out! When launching or taking your boat out of the water the crew goes way out of there way to help you out as well. We had a problem with the bilge pump in our boat not working during those recent crazy rain storms. Alex and the owner made sure the water level did not get to high in the boat and pumped the water out several times!

We rented a Pontoon Boat from Meridith Marina for 3 days. We had a fantastic vacation all the way up until we returned the pontoon boat. John Abear, the Service Manager, found a supposed "Rub Mark" on one of the supports and gave us a bill for $ 2,989.00! We explained we never went near any other vessels and had the boat tied up by itself at the private Mills Falls dock. We explained this to Mr Abear, but it did not matter. One of our members is an insurance adjuster and runs into these types of situations often. He attempted to discuss that fact that most organizations will hire a company to buff out the "Rub Mark". Mr. Abear dismissed the thought immediately. We got 3 quotes from other marina's. The prices to repair the rub mark ranged from $ 385 to just under $ 900. Mr Abear again dismissed the results of our efforts immediately. A wonderful Once in a Lifetime vacation was tainted by an unscrupulous Mr. Abear at Meredith Marina. Mr Abear has a real racket going. He charges unsuspecting people for the boat rental and then comes back and charges them almost the same amount for a blemish on their vessel. Meridith Marina must make almost as much money from damage fees as they do for rentals. I would really like to know if other families have run into the same dishonesty that we experienced. And, we would appreciate any supporting comments from others that have experienced the same type of treatment. Signed, I will Never, Ever do business or refer Mr. Abear and Meridith Marina. Do not use this company. This company will not let you cancel or move your reservation if the…read morereservation is within 14 days. Weather reports are only 10 days out, so you get totally screwed if it rains. Even if there's lightning, this company will not let you move your reservation. I could understand if you canceled or moved and they were left with an unreserved boat that could have been reserved by someone else, but boats will not rent in the rain, so they are just using the weather as a means to screw you and profit in the mean time. Use Winnie Marine instead. They cost a bit more, but they'll let you cancel your reservation on the day of if it's raining. No contest in terms of service.

They installed their spare battery plus took it back out afterwards when we got to their marina. On top of that, the guy who did the work was so friendly and explained what we needed to do when we got back to our marina. Just five star service for complete strangers. We could have been in a much crappier situation, and we are so grateful they decided to stop and help. If you're looking for a marina, I would 20/10 recommend.

I do not recommend Goodhue Boat Company…read more After a couple of good days enjoying the lakes with our family we decided to take a cruise around Frye island to try to catch a famous Sebago sunset. About 3/4 of the way around the island the boat just died. I've been around boats all of my life so I took 45 minutes trying to diagnose the problem. When we couldn't figure it out we called Goodhue knowing it was after hours. We then called several emergency services for them all to go to voicemail. 911 got us tow Sebago after 3 hours to rescue us for a $700 tow. We sat through a thunderstorm, 30 mph winds and an anchor which did not hold the boat. Luckily enough I was able to swim close enough to a mooring and latch on before ending up on the rocks. The next morning I called Goodhue just before they opened and explained what happened. They sent someone out 2 hours later who determined the boat ran out of gas. I watched that gas gauge fall from 100% every single decimal to its final reading of 72.8%. This gave me every indication that the gas gauge was working correctly. I said to my family several times over 2 days that "this boat either has a gigantic gas tank or is extremely efficient". I honestly could not believe that the boat had run out of gas. Goodhue does not want to take responsibility for their faulty equipment causing a very dangerous and life threatening situation. They claim to have explained the gas gauge doesn't work, but a teenager mumbling during a safety briefing that the gas gauge might not work isn't properly notifying a customer of faulty equipment. Expectations of something so vital should be plastered on the dash or handed on a piece of paper to the renter. While this is the second time we have rented from Goodhue, the first time didn't go well either. We had to be rescued the first time after the battery died while we stopped for lunch. We were told that we needed to shut the battery disconnect off overnight, but we did not expect the battery to die with all accessories off in less than 2 hours. I have been boating my entire life. I've spent 1-2 weeks on long lake/Sebago for over 40 years. I also live a couple miles from the ocean. I've owned 4 boats myself and my family owned multiple boats as I was growing up. I've never been stranded outside of renting from Goodhue. I had good experiences renting multiple times each from Long Beach marina and kettle cove marina. Goodhue rents faulty equipment and does not take responsibility for it. I highly recommend going to a reliable marina.
