I'm sad, and very surprised I'm the first Yelp review for Newfound Woodworks…read more I recently purchased a used boat from someone who built one of their boats and from the first time calling, Rose or Alan were so helpful and just nice people who were so patient with a stranger they inly knew from a phone call, someone who knew NOTHING about varnishing, epoxy, or maintenance of a strip built boat, but they were 100% supportive, confident I could refinish the boat I had, and 100% gave me the confidence as I stumbled through the process and helped me with a couple hiccups from the builder I needed to tackle and I've learned so much in the process. I am pleased I get to tell anyone asking this boat is a package they can buy and build themselves and who it is offers that experience. If I was to tackle actually building my own boat, knowing they're a call or email away, I now know I could do just that.

They installed their spare battery plus took it back out afterwards when we got to their marina. On top of that, the guy who did the work was so friendly and explained what we needed to do when we got back to our marina. Just five star service for complete strangers. Every one of them is true! Friendly staff that was helpful answering all my silly questions. Most of them are kids so don't be alarmed - they're definitely smarter than you! Rented a pontoon boat for the day for $400 which was the same price as a 2hr guided boat tour. Not cheap, but absolutely worth it. You get the boat from 9am - 4pm so spend the whole day out on the lake! Lake Winnisquam has a sand bar right near the marina where you can anchor up for a redneck yacht party. Awesome time all around! Boat was in great condition, clean, and pretty new. Without a license, the boat goes up to only 15mph so it's a nice chill ride. Staff shows you the ropes before going out on the water. Dogs are welcome on the rentals as well!!

Weather reports are only 10 days out, so you get totally screwed if it rains. Even if there's lightning, this company will not let you move your reservation. I could understand if you canceled or moved and they were left with an unreserved boat that could have been reserved by someone else, but boats will not rent in the rain, so they are just using the weather as a means to screw you and profit in the mean time. Use Winnie Marine instead. They cost a bit more, but they'll let you cancel your reservation on the day of if it's raining. No contest in terms of service.
