Are you young, new to the city, and like meeting new people?…read more Then WAKA Kickball is for you! I've been playing for 5 years now. There are several days you can play, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday. Each Day of the week has a different vibe and level of competition. I mainly play on Sundays which is a little less competitive than other days. And it gives me enough time to recover. After the games we head to our sponsor bar to hang out, drink, and play flip cup. There are usually 2-3 parties that happen every season as well. I've made some of my best friends playing kickball. You should too!

Really fun and really great way to meet new people in a new city (or when you want to make new…read morefriends in the city you've lived in for awhile). Every league is different, so it's worth trying a few if you don't like the first one you are in. The kickball is fun but it works really well when paired with the drinking games after. The most important thing is to find a league where the post-game bar is on a night where you can afford to drink and is easy to get home from (i.e. no driving necessary). A good post-game means it doesn't matter whether you are on a team that loses every game. There is a mix of players and some have played for a few years and understand the strategies and have experience, while others are just starting out. Signing up as a free agent is pretty random, so you can get placed on a completely new team or as filling out an established squad. Most people are generally friendly and welcoming (beer does that to you).

My son loved playing flag football with his afterschool program when he was younger, but he hasn't had the opportunity to join a team as a middle schooler. He is very excited to play again. We are fortunate to have found a program that is accessible and can be affordable to single, working moms. I'll update my review with more details as the season progresses. Thank you EBFF!

It teaches them to be a team player and to also take the lead if the ball falls in their court. My son has never really looked forward to any sports aside from Flag Football and gymnastics. So when he found out it was time to register, he was elated. He started off playing tackle at age 5 and he didn't like it at all. I made him play. His coach then and now is Coach Kevin. I am super elated we still have a bond from years back. Octavian trusts him in the game as they have that initial connection. I was team Mom for the Alameda Pirates circa 2013. Zaiah, my daughter is super elated she can still play. She loves to follow in her brothers footsteps all the while maintaining her own identity here and in gymnastics. I like the fact that they bond friendships with their teammates. Looking forward to another season of fun.

Inside Trail Racing is a AWESOME!!!!…read more I only volunteer with them but my boyfriend runs a few different distances with this race. He says that the aid stations are well stocked and have great volunteers there to help you if you need it. The trails are marked well and he hasn't gotten lost on the trails compared to other races he's done. My perspective as a volunteer is that all the runners seem to have a good time and the volunteers are fun. Some of them will work either before or after they race. There is still volunteers there till the end to cheer on that last runner in. Since there is usually around 400 racers it has that family feel. You see some repeat racers/volunteers and new comers which is great. The race director "Tim" is wonderful and will work with you either as a volunteer or if you need to get registered last minute he can squeeze you in. Great prizes for the winners and the t-shirts are "tech" shirts which most people enjoy! If you haven't done his race yet, you should come check them out
