Review One thing…read morethat has been bothering us for almost a year is the lack of new growth with our 2 sago palms due to the aggressive frond defoliation done by Leo (Owner) and (his son) Oscar. One saga palm is over 50 years old and the other is approximately 25 years old. Both sago palms have been through hard weather and freeze then recovered with nice new growth. However, there has been zero new growth. Mistakes Made Defoliating Sago Plants * Removing all the fronds from a sago palm seriously harmed the palms. * The sago palms lost the ability to photosynthesize, so they can't produce food. * No new fronds for 11+ months Mulching Done Wrong * Doing mulch wrong can absolutely kill plants. * The most common mistake is "volcano mulching" piling mulch against tree trunks or plant stems--which traps moisture, rots the bark, and invites pests. My husband noticed this volcano-like mounds around both sago palms. No Solutions Offered * Email sent with photos * Phone calls made * One phone call to Stanley seemed promising then radio silence. * No offer for replacement * No offer to remove the sago palms. * Safe Disposal Warning * Extreme Toxicity: Sago palms contain cycasin, a potent toxin that is deadly to dogs, cats, and horses. * Safe Handling: Wear heavy work gloves and long sleeves. Double-bag all debris or haul it immediately to a secure municipal green-waste facility where animals cannot access it. Consequently, No Good Review

After a patio addition, my backyard was completely destroyed but Green Springs stepped in and fixed everything and more in less than 2 days. Not only did they have great communication and updated me with every step, but they also went above and beyond and did more work than I expected. I'm extremely pleased with how my backyard turned out and they did it at almost half the cost of some of the other quotes I received. If you are looking for exceptional work that is affordable, I would highly recommend Green Springs! Will definitely continue to work with them for any landscaping projects I have come up.

Moses told us he used to work for the contractor that left us hanging with the issues above but he had started his own company after only a short period in the business which explains a lot about this company. When they sent the quote to us they were charging $295 to repair a valve that costs $75 to buy new. They had labor on top of the valve repair itself, and a second charge for labor for the water leak. Which the total costs for the quote were $900. Sad thing about this is a competitor quoted us $300 to fix this and they ended up getting it repaired for the $300. This installers lack of experience in the industry show not only in pricing but in how he has communicated with. Won't be calling back. UPDATE: 07/18/22 Since posting this review Moses has come by our house twice, once the day of the review around 10pm at night asking us to take down the review. Then again today 07/18 he stopped by and asked my wife again if we would take down the review. Which now this gentleman is making my wife and family feel very uncomfortable as Moses is not stalking us to get us to remove the review. We will be reporting this behavior to our local authorities. It matched exactly what we discussed during our visit at the house and really brought our vision to life (and they were reasonably priced compared to all the other quotes we received). They helped us pick out a great tree for the front yard and did an excellent job with the planting. They also installed a whole new front flower bed (with trees, shrubs, and decorative rock), removed the old vines on the back fence, and handled tree maintenance quickly and efficiently. As a bonus, they were able to offer sprinkler system services and run water from an existing line over to the new tree and get the system back to functioning which should make everything seamless with the constant watering schedule needed on the beginning. The only hiccup was that the pool was left a complete mess after removing the vines next to it the first day. However, we messaged Noe (the lead) and he came out that same night to make it right. We really appreciated how quickly they addressed the issue. The only delay in the entire project was with the faux vines that were supposed to be replacing the live ones -- but that wasn't their fault. The supplier only shipped half the order. They were professional about it and didn't request the remaining payment until the final portion was completed and they came back and completed it when promised. Overall, I would highly recommend for anyone needing any type of landscaping done.

Meticulous, perfection-driven, obsessed with details, hard workers, fast…read more This is a family business, with dad and two young adult sons doing the hard labor, and mom handling the business end. I have what you could call a "special needs" fence, deck, and yard. Electrical lights and outlets on the fence posts, an extra wide gate in the rear for bringing in a washing machine one day, removeable deck panel for access to AC lines, wanted the deck built on concrete blocks instead of chopping post holes into my driveway and live oak tree roots, pet turtles in the yard, and a koi pond that it was essential to not disturb the filter or plumbing or connections. Other companies didn't understand what I was needing, argued with me, or didn't speak English. But all DWS said was: Yes, yes, yes. My experience with contractors is that they're bulldozers, and I fully expected my yard and items to be trashed. Not with DWS. They carefully removed the electrical and then replaced it on the new fence posts - everything works. I had cleared the space as well as possible, but there were still items they had to move. All my garden décor, windchimes, turtle pen, etc. were preserved and neatly set where I could find them. Best of all, there was no damage to the pond, plumbing, or garden. They even did some "extra" things, like haul off pots that were too heavy for me, and trim a few branches on a baby tree. They didn't start too early (no morning noise to bother neighbors), and they wrapped up mid-afternoon. They use quick-set cement, so they can dig a post hole, erect the post, and then add rails and pickets all on the same day. They worked incredibly hard in July heat, and finished job a day early. Cleaned the driveway, sidewalk, and yard of all debris. A few things should have been hashed out better ahead of time. Type of gate hardware and locks, pergola / shade cover, retaining wall, moved the fenceline in 6" (made my yard smaller), cutting a limb off my precious live oak tree. Luckily, some of these were discussed the day before install, and were able to make last minute changes, with price adjustments where appropriate. The price for about 100' of cedar fencing and two modest decks was a gasp moment - but in line with other companies. The 50% deposit was daunting, esp for an outfit I knew nothing about, but it's in line with industry standards. Plus, they didn't ask for it until the week before install. Easy on-line pay, good communicators. The finished fence is sturdy, beautiful, and pickets all straight along the top. They hide the gate hinges for a neat look. Decks are exactly what I asked for. As an example of detail, a portion of my deck goes around the oak tree. Instead of cutting a circle out of the deck to accommodate the tree trunk, they cut the boards into pie slice-shaped wedges, so the boards fit around the tree like a pinwheel. ! This had to take amazing engineering, measuring, and cutting. Folks, there was no need to do this. This is a small deck in the back of the yard that's going to be covered with lawn chairs and potted plants and no one will ever see (except me). I can only think they did this out of obsession with detail, and had fun with the math and logistics. When they left, Dan shook my hand and told me he offers a 150% guarantee. Indeed, as the summer went on and lack of rain caused the fenceposts to shift and the gate started sticking, they came back twice to make adjustments. There's more good stuff to tell, but I'm hitting the word limit. Bottom line, I couldn't be more pleased with the people, quality, workmanship, and professionalism. You will be, too.

When researching fence companies, I bid my project out to several local businesses using the exact same specifications so I was getting an apples-to-apples comparison. DWS came in with the best price. When I requested a change to the original project scope after starting, they were transparent about the additional cost and provided a timely and fair change order. They were hit with multiple weather events, which delayed our project and subsequent projects they had on the books after ours unfortunately too. Despite the delays, Dan never rushed anything or cut corners and got the job done right. They operate honestly and would recommend to anyone looking to install a new fence.
