My son loves Earth Keepers camp. He says it was his favorite camp "EVER!" He really enjoyed walking the alpacas and getting to spend some time every day with the other animals. But what he really loved was the foraging. He learned to identify various local edible wild plants, like Wild Cucumber, and he looks for them every time we go hiking. I love how much he learned about plants and vegetables. It seems they did a little foraging whenever they went anywhere - for Alpaca Camp or Raising Baby Chicks camp. He learned how to make a cabbage burrito one day - wrap a piece of fresh picked cabbage around whatever else is ripe in the Aspen TREE garden, tie it with a long chive or green onion, and eat! He asked for those for lunch for months. He is now willing to try every kind of vegetable and loves to just wander through the garden trying things. This is such a warm and inviting camp, the counselors know so much about our local environment and have so much enthusiasm for sharing it all with the kids. Plus it's a little bit of everything - learning, eating, playing outside, making art, snuggling cute animals - what more could you ask for!?! read more
